Tom Wilson is 31 years old and his body is starting to break down due to his style of play.
Trading 20 year old Easton Cowan for Wilson would be an egregious error on Leafs part.
Danford is a future 2nd pairing RHD (think Tanev)
McBain is a bottom 6 center,
Though a good player it would be another horrendous mistake for Leafs to trade Danford for McBain.

I don't get whhat some posters feel for the window of opportunity?
Cowan seems allright for a young gun but I bet anyone 100% of the players in the NHL would rather play against Cowan rather than Wilson.
Wilson still has a few good years in him and if you want to outrough and grind your way through the playoffs, the wilson way is a far better path for our window right now.

At one time I would be all over this.

As valuable as Tom Wilson is, he is also now 31 years of age whereas Cowan is 20.
Leafs already have a number of 30+ players.
I think it would be wise to keep what little youth we have left.

I would assume you mean McMann as 3rd line LW not McCann unless you have already swung a deal with Seattle.
Completely agree that Kampf and Jarnkrok need to go.
I don’t see a fit for Domi in the Leafs lineup.
He certainly isn’t a 4th line, defensive grinder.
I don’t think that is enough to acquire McBain and Crouse.
Woll would be a good fit and Robertson has some potential but Steeves has been a career AHL player with little value and OEL is a salary dump.

Simmonds? Omfg. No no no. He's a big body. Still has a decent shot. But worse player than Clifford and probably will make more.
Clifford, Spezza, Simmonds will cost close to $5M-$6M for our fourth line. Twice as much as Dubas will be wanting to spend.
Leafs wouldn't be able to afford the lineup you listed. Not a chance unless you trade one of the big 4. Which I wouldn't do just to make cap room for old man Petroleum Jelly. And that's exactly what he would be good for. F***king us. Right up the wazoo.
