Oilers
Stolarz
Leafs
Jarry
Howard
We take Jarry to get Howard
Jarry on waivers
Will not be picked up so a buyout is in order
With Jack ? in prospects or high end picks Leafs need to get creative
Nylander to Ducks
Sennecke Luneau 2nd 2027 2nd 2027 to Leafs
Tough to trade a world class talent
But this is where it’s at currently
Tanknation is alive
I predict or dream they will get the 3rd overall pick
Verhoeff would be a great addition
Rielly to Hawks
2nd 2026 2nd 2027 to Leafs
1.) 15 Mar 2026 20:13:29
Yes to all but Stolarz deal.
Jarry has two more years at $5.375, I believe, and if he passes waivers we are still on the hook for $4m+.
Makes no sense to me. Send Stolarz to Carolina or the Ducks and you’ll get a solid return with $4m added to our cap.
One for one to Ducks for Nathan Gaucher or Carolina for Charles-Alexis Legault.
2.) 15 Mar 2026 22:27:29
Can't see the Nylander deal working for Anaheim. Willy comes in with his $11,500,000 contract and Anaheim loses a young player they have for $942,500 for another 2 years in Sennecke. Then they also have Calrsoon, Gauthier, Minyukov and Zellweger to sign in the Offseason. Sennecke is to valueable of a player for his cap hit to let go.
3.) 15 Mar 2026 23:15:56
Agree that the Nylander probably wouldn’t but I do like it!
4.) 16 Mar 2026 12:28:14
Nylander to Detroit. They have cap space and prospects.
Nylander for Cossa, Danielson and a first round pick.
Trade Stolarz to Habs.
5.) 16 Mar 2026 13:39:36
Again I think we can get more for Nylander but if that deal was to cross the table, Cossa is probably off the board. He is a RFA and I think Detroit has him penciled in to replace Talbot and then it will be winner take all with him and John Gibson for starter and backup.
However... if anyone was looking to get a goaltender for the future. Detroit also has Trey Augustine and he is legitimate #1 quality within 2 years of starting a pro career. They also have other great goalie prospects too. Somehow they really built up a wealth at that position.
6.) 16 Mar 2026 14:28:35
All these trade possibilities are there!!!
We need to ensure we have the right GM who is willing to be bold, who is able identify talent and fit, and who is able to negotiate well. I don’t believe that’s Treliving though it sounds like it could happen.
If he stays the Leafs need to add a President of Operations that played in the NHL who has a well above average hockey IQ.
Is that Chris Pronger or Ron Francis?
The Leafs have lots of talent to trade for the right returns. Done properly and with a little luck on our side we can compete next year for the Cup.
7.) 16 Mar 2026 15:15:14
I've said it before... Back up the Brinks truck to his door and Vegas and hire McPhee away from them as Team President. That man knows the hockey business. And... maybe the toughest pound for pound fighter I ever saw play the game. Little man took on all comers.

1.) 14 Mar 2026 11:28:52
Aside from dreaming, how did we magically get the 3rd overall pick?
2.) 14 Mar 2026 12:32:36
So you are going to put in a GM who worked more as a senior advisor to the GM in Florida (It was kind of a fancy title for being a go between from the head office to the players to be a mentor etc. But he has not actually done the apprenticing as a assistant GM which is a huge learning process in getting to that GM spot. And you are inserting a Coach who has only worked in Hockey for two Teams The University of Denver and 2 years for Green Bay in Junior. No excperience at the pro level at all.
So it is obvious that you have won the lottery and bought the team from Rogers because you handpicked the team and the management and rebuild it in your eyes. Harold Ballard has come back from the grave lol.
All in Jest. We need a truly experienced hockey mind who has been hands on. As well as a coach he picks to either be a Stop gap Coach that can teach and be ready to step aside at some point during the rebuild process or a coach that can handle a complete different group for a retool in which case that coach needs to be hired to work hand in hand with the new GM to trade for players that fits their vision of the retool.
Chris Pronger is not a stupid man at all as he has a very successful business career. But he still needs at least a year of hands on GM work running a Minor team while interning at the actual assistant GMs jobs simultaneously with the Main Club.
3.) 14 Mar 2026 13:29:49
Jim Nill's contract is up. Make him a Godfather offer. We have his chief scout from a year ago. The guy's a winner from his days in Detroit and built a powerhouse in Dallas.
4.) 14 Mar 2026 14:58:32
Here is one that would be even better, Johnny57. Let Keith Pelley be the President of MLSE but again make that extreme ludicrous offer and create a President of Toronto Maple Leafs title and hire George McPhee away from Vegas to fill that and have Jim Nill as the GM.
What a combo of hockey and hockey business minds to have together. Then Pelley could worry himself about financial things and leave operations in the hands of those that know.

lol
The fact I need to explain how they got the 3rd overall pick tells me all I need to know about you.
6.) 14 Mar 2026 22:02:05
Well 3rd might in fact be possible.
Don’t think they will fall below the Flames or Canucks, however (which makes it the 3rd worst), but the Rangers and Blackhawks have the same objective as the Leafs and have a heads-start on us.
Time will tell.
7.) 15 Mar 2026 00:17:45
It’s all about Lottery Luck.
Islanders finished 10th worst last year but won the

Ist trade. Good one for the Leafs
2nd trade great one for the Leafs.
3 Trade extraordinary good one. For the Blues.
Love Robert Thomas but Knies has to be part of any rebuild here as a conerstone and I think Holinka is one of those picks that got picked lower because he had not filled out quite yet physically has turned into a force.
2.) 06 Mar 2026 00:04:10
If Knies is shipped out I want to see A+ prospect or a lot of picks. It would signal a massive 5-7 year rebuild.
3.) 06 Mar 2026 00:18:04
I know this statement will be met by a storm of criticism but I’ll make it and try and weather the venom sent my way.
I’ve been disappointed in him after last year’s growth. I am aware he was dealing with an injury. This is not new in the NHL; it happens all the time.
He’s a big boy who doesn’t use his body enough. That is an important feature of his game and it’s not happening.
His shot, stick-handing and hockey sense could certainly be described as a little above average. His skating is also decent.
He’s a 60-65 point player in my eyes right now and certainly not a line driver.
He gets lots of PP time and PK time.
He’s a valuable mid-6 forward not someone you build around.
He can be on my team but he’s not untouchable.
4.) 06 Mar 2026 11:38:13
@Randy Interesting.
I would never say a player is untouchable no matter the player either, but I would say Knies is as close as it gets.
Knies is not having a good year, but as a young guy this is not an easy season to stay motivated. He's been injured off and on and nobody around him looks like they give a s***.
5.) 06 Mar 2026 12:10:24
Exactly LL. You guys willing to trade Knies because of this season? In T.O, the give a ? meter is so low and you expect this year being injured all year to be a lone stand out player?
6.) 06 Mar 2026 12:39:31
With Knies, the injury has affected his speed, I believe. Not that I think he is fast, but even a step slower can really throw the effectiveness of your game off. Unless the deal is overwhelming, keep Knies. He has no trade protection for years, so there is no rush to move him now.
7.) 06 Mar 2026 12:53:47
@randysears I like Knies as well and know he has been hurt but he is definitely the most immediate bang for their buck in a trade because of the fact is has no restrictions for being traded anywhere. That opens up every team in the league rather than a list of teams the player selects.
As far as taking heat I will take heat again for standing somewhat in Nylanders corner. Push comes to shove. You keep him and let Matthews go. If Willy was not hurt with the missed games because of the groin injury, he would at the pace he has put up all year be 6th in the league in scoring.
If Matthews was the player who everyone said would be a lock to score 60 and maybe challenge Ovechkin down the road then thats a different story. But his in not that anymore and he will still regardless want a hike on his contract in 2 years. Willy's contract in 2 years will be a bargain in this league. You know salaries are going nuts when Sherwood gets a contract worth $5.75 million a year.

Don’t think you’re getting Howard for Roy. And you’re definitely not getting a second for Benoit!
2.) 04 Mar 2026 13:01:22
Most look pretty reasonable.
3.) 04 Mar 2026 13:19:04
I’d prefer to stay away from draft picks and certainly any past this year’s draft.
Laughton to anyone else but the Avs gets you more IMO.
Like Lamoureaux.
Agree that Benoit doesn’t merit a 2nd.
Return on McMann is too far in the future.
I also think Maccelli to LAK gets you more.
Just my thoughts.
4.) 04 Mar 2026 22:45:40
So in your mind Roy is worth way more than Laughton and Benoit is worth the same as Laughton? What is in the water in Toronto right now?
17 Mar 2026 13:55:51
Not sure Nashville has any interest in Willy.
That are a strange organization.
They seem to be unsure if they want to sign expensive free agents or want to rebuild with young talent…
