Sissons at $4.25 is not your 4th line center that will be Blueger. FYI Roslovic is a centre/right winger. Don’t forget Groulx has a good shot of being that player or your 3c. He played great when he go called up last season. Knies is a lefty, Cowan better suited for playing his off wing as he has already.

Only reason I moved McKenna to 2nd line is because that’s where I would start him no matter had we accumulated some better pieces in the free agency process. I think for his first few months in the league it might be better to take him away from the other teams too checking line until he has been through the league a bit.
Then consider moving him up or…. If the 2nd line has chemistry njeep him there.

Domi is not coming back in the foreseeable future. So his 3.75m is useable cap space, plus after the Nurse trade Reilly's value just got a whole lot better trade incoming fit him and I see guys like Joshua and Lorentz being traded as well.

How can you hate what we did today? Look at us all coming up with different line combos, that’s depth. We didn’t sell the farm. We got Bob at a livable price. I hate to see Hildeby go. I would have thought we’d be the ones getting the draft picks as well as Paul. Remember it’s day one. There’s still lots of time for more moves, and they plugged a lot of hole centre depth and defensive depth via the draft.
Most of the signings are two years, so we’ll be flexible when big contracts are due. Are we cup favourites? Probably not. Are we better? I’d say yes. Did Chykra do what he’s said? Absolutely. I’m happy overall. Top six looks good, bottom six got defensively better and a lot of options.

Only reason we are juggling the combos is like I said on another post. We don't really have a 3rd line, just 2 4th lines along with our 1st and 2nd. We will never be able to really have a proper 3rd line until we land another centre that will let JT move into the 3rd spot to give him a breather. Whether that is a centre that starts on the 3rd and moves up to the 2nd line or a bona fide 2nd line centre.
Still frustrated we missed out on getting a chance to get Bourque. I think management was too focused on pulling off the Werenski or a similar big deal, they missed out on that one. Kind of our track record really... we always are the team talked about for the big deals in the past and they never transpire.

Laughton is a left shooting fourth line player not a 3rd line RW.
Sprong has been a failure with pretty much every team he has played for.

The big issue I see so far is that there is not a carry it through the neutral zone guy on the Matthews line. Biggest reason that line has been ineffective imo
This is what I would do with the lines to give a carry it through the zone guy with Matthews.

Assuming Knies gets 7.5M for example. That puts us just under 14M if we can find a way to get rid of Jarnkrok and Kampfs contracts via trade. That would give us roughly 16,250M to spend on 5 forward slots.

I said if JT comes back it has to be for about $3.5-$4M which I had at over 4-5 years as we need him to take a big discount if he is staying. Great job by JT and Tre to get a very Leaf friendly deal. JT is a class act as we know. He just sent a message to the Marner's etc who want the big money and don't like the fan scrutiny in Toronto that there are guys that will play here for less because they want to be here.
I do think there is a good possibility Marchand comes here. I predict 4x$7.25M if he does. That would be JT and Marchand total for less than what Marner wants.

Well I think jarnkrok will help the third line when he comes back. Dewar may help, not sure i don't know much about him.
Or we go big and try to trade marner, move domi with matthews and knies. Hopefully aquire a third line center in the trade.

I don't think he was as bad as everyone says, but you're entitled to your opinion. He was an even player and had 4 points in 4 games. Killed penalties. No powerplay time or at least very little. Let's just see how he preforms in the playoffs. Thanks for your input.
