If Larkin decided he wanted to expand his trade list to Toronto what would you guys give up for him?

Shanacant

1.) 04 Aug 2026 15:15:06
Reilly would have to agree to go the other way. I’d send him, Cowan, Tverberg and Avs first.

2.) 04 Aug 2026 18:31:56
A bag of pucks.

I don't like the way Larkin conducted himself in Detroit.

3.) 04 Aug 2026 19:46:06
A bag of pucks.

???

That’s how I feel about Silly Peelander.

???

4.) 04 Aug 2026 21:01:10
I don’t think we can put a package together that won’t hurt us going forward. Cowan ya ok, but he may turn into a comparable player. Also, for the package it would take to acquire Larkin, we’d be better off getting a defensman as it would be a top pairing. As for the Willy haters' plan: simple, he’s not payed for his defense.

He’s been our top 3 producer with Marner here, and our top without him. I could give you a long list of successful players that weren’t know for the backcheck, and if you watched him last year, you would have seen he’s capable.

5.) 05 Aug 2026 00:11:29
Larkin has never broken 80pts in a season. He’s a centre, but is he really an upgrade from Tavares, who got more points last season albeit he played more games but is 5yrs older and half the cost of Larkin.

There’s a reason no teams are jumping at the chance to get him, especially the ones he prefers to go to. I would give up a big package for him, my opinion.

6.) 05 Aug 2026 13:11:34
I agree, Champ. Bang for your salary cap Dollar if he stays healthy, JT is a better deal for us without selling the farm to get Larkin. In fact, If thus team does not perform well, JT becomes a very valuable commodity at the trade deadline if he decides he wants a shot at a cup run elsewhere.

He is the type of player a playoff bound team looking for a key piece would pay dearly for. If he did win a cup I think he would retire while still healthy and performing well.

Haven't been on much lately, but how do people value Zary out of Calgary? I think he has a lot more to offer than he's shown there. I was thinking like a second and Joshua to make the money work. Hope he can grow into our second line centre as Tavares ages and slows more.

Shanacant

1.) 31 Jul 2026 20:29:32
Ya I’d to that he was my line mate on NHL 26 be a pro and was able to keep up lol but in all seriousness that made me pay attention to him and I liked what I saw reminds me of Sullivan a bit.

2.) 31 Jul 2026 21:51:45
Zary doesn't play center in the NHL, he is a winger on Calgary. And apparently Calgary has too many wingers, same as Leafs. So, I don't think these targets work for either team.

3.) 31 Jul 2026 23:32:12
Zary is fine, but nothing special imo. I'd rather just keep Joshua if Zary also costs us a second.

4.) 01 Aug 2026 00:03:57
My goal is to find a project that has the possible for a 2C for the cost of a 2nd. Was also looking at like Reilly to Chicago for a prospect C.

5.) 01 Aug 2026 00:12:29
I feel like he has been mismanaged in Calgary though as well. I feel like they haven't given him a legitimate shot at C with Kadri, Backlund and Frost.

03 Jul 2026 17:13:45
Tor: Reilly (2.5 m retained)
Pit: Rakell, 2030 1st (top 5 protected)

Pens probably want one more crack at it and dumbass loved Reilly. Not sure he pays this but they need money going out to make it happen. We get upgraded to probably a good 1st due to such long retention on Reilly.

Shanacant

1.) 03 Jul 2026 18:07:14
Pittsburgh will never give all that. Rackell straight up maybe. And Reilly wants to go west.

2.) 03 Jul 2026 21:06:07
Chayka has made it clear he’s not retaining on Rielly or adding a sweetener as they call which means a draft pick or prospect attached.

3.) 03 Jul 2026 23:03:54
Rielly at best will get the Leafs a 2nd rounder and that’s without retaining money.

Yes he’s a leader and yes he’s played almost 1000 game for the team but that means nothing to other GM’s.

He’s a leader on a losing team that is -41 and hasn’t played passed the 2nd round.

4.) 03 Jul 2026 23:31:12
I would normally say I agree with all of you but this year GMs have taken up smoking crack. Never know what one might do.

5.) 04 Jul 2026 09:31:30
You have a valid point. ???

19 Jun 2026 23:50:09
I might be one of the only ones but I would like to see a Reilly for Petterson. Trade. Neither side eats salary, Leafs probably add a tiny bit due to Petterson's position. But I would say we had like a Hirvonen.

Shanacant

1.) 20 Jun 2026 05:00:20
Do you think Vancouver actually would do that? Unless they just want to save some money and really blow their team up.

Would help solve the second line center problem. Would have a few bucks left to get a depth piece and maybe sign Roberston and McKenna's ELC

2.) 20 Jun 2026 10:01:00
I’m pretty sure it was reported that Reilly wouldn’t waive to go to Vancouver, which makes sense. Why would he want to go to a rebuilding team?

3.) 20 Jun 2026 13:05:44
When I purposed this a month ago I had Robertson going to Vancouver as well I think he’s going to ask for a similar salary to Domi which equals the cap hit and I believe Reilly waves to go home!!

4.) 21 Jun 2026 03:05:34
Reilly would definitely wave to go home. What r u talking about ?. Reilly plus Robertson and a 3rd pick or prospect would get this done I believe. No retention on either side. Realistically u save on having to resign Robertson and only eat up $4.1m of salary cap with the difference between Reilly and Elias.

12 Jun 2026 18:43:44
Not even sure I like this trade, but here we go.

Tor: Reilly, Stolarz, Col 1st

Nyr: Zibinejad, Schneider, Laba, Rempe

Zibby is getting old and may not be great, but a decent stop gap until we can find our true 2C

Lineup becomes:

Mckenna Matthews Nylander
Knies Zibinejad Cowan
Robertson Tavares Domi/Macelli
Joshua Laba Rempe/Lorentz

OEL Tanev
McCabe Schneider
Benoit/rookie Carlo

Woll
Hildeby.

I feel like this team should be competitive, and we spend everything we have on teaching Rempe to skate properly. If we can shift him somehow from an enforcer to a power forward, could be the steal of the trade. Would also consider replacing Zibby with Trochek.

Shanacant

1.) 12 Jun 2026 21:15:24
I don’t think the Rangers like that trade either…

With the history with the coach, do you think 1 year of Doughty at full cost could be something Toronto looks at? Not sure Doughty would waive to come to Toronto but if there was a chance would you take a chance on it?

My 2 ideal candidates for this team at this point would be Doughty and Hayton. Then hopefully resign McMann in free agency.

A D pairings of

Oel Doughty
McCabe Raddysh
Reilly Tanev

Sounds insane.

Bit older but that is a deap blue line. And we have lots of marlies to fill in for injuries.

Not sure what cost for these 2 would be. I thought Hayton wouldn't be very much until I saw what McTavish went for.

Doughty I think eating all 11 million makes it quite a bit cheaper.

1.) 30 Jun 2026 10:59:38
I’m so mad we lost McMann for a 2nd. That’s the type of player we need. Boston Pizza is over here trading him just to say he did something but he just didn’t have a clue.

He is resigned in Seattle for 5.5M for 6 years. Gone for good. One of the few who developed in our minors system and came out to a solid role player.

I don't get the Domi hate, people expect him to be Clark sorry to tell you, we aren't getting a Clark for Domi's price tag, he chips in here and there and stands up for his team, takes stupid penalties sometimes but honestly. He's be one of the last players on this team I'd trade, he bleeds blue and that's rare these days.

Shanacant

1.) 09 Apr 2026 20:20:01
I hole heartily agree with this comment.

2.) 10 Apr 2026 02:38:32
I'm not saying he isn't tradeable, but if people think Domi is the biggest problem, then the problems are larger than many think. I am not saying I wouldn't trade him, but it's not the most pressing issue Imo.

3.) 10 Apr 2026 08:37:32
The problem with someone like Domi is his best years are behind him. That piss and vinegar he shows every now and again the Leafs need that Domi more often. I remember in his early years he was an agitator always beaking at someone. Instead he a guy without a role on a not good team.

12 Mar 2026 19:08:08
I haven't posted in a while, this Leafs team has been painful to watch. I am going to touch on a few things.
Berube

Berube needs to go, preferably end of the year so the Leafs don't start playing better. You guys remember how Ovi went through a bunch of coaches until they found Trotz? I feel like Toronto is in need of something similar. I don't think Matthews just can't score anymore, I think Berube's style leaves him to tired to be dynamic in the offensive zone. Hence why we have seen him not back check at least twice in OT this year and watch his guy score.

Treliving.

I have mixed feelings about Treliving. He acquired a garbage heap with a few gems in it from Dubas. Where I do blame Treliving is going all in last year. He grossly overpaid for Laughton and Carlo. I would've rathered him do nothing than make either of those moves. Beyond the deadline last year I don't hate a lot of his moves.

I am one of the few on here that is a pretty big fan of Domi. We all thought Joshua would be more impactful. Macelli had a slow start but is looking like a decent move now. OEL was a great signing. The haul he got for Roy was pretty good. Marner was mismanaged but he had like a week to get a feel for the situation. I don't blame him there.

Treliving I'd give a little more rope, but it'd be a short leash. 1 year to right the ship.

I would not bring Keefe or Dubas back. Neither did it for me.

I'm not sure who I would look at for GM, probably Pridham, unless someone was available that would bring the right mix of experience and winning pedigree.

For a coach, I wish we jumped at Quenville. I am not entirely sure who else could get this team playing the way they need to.

Tough times being a Leafs fan, tank for Mckenna, cup next year. /S

So for me, after that game mcmann should sit for a game. Doing circles to turn around bigger than the ones I do in beer league.

Is this the year robertson finally puts it together?

Shanacant

1.) 24 Sep 2025 23:06:22
No. I see this comment every year when he looks good in preseason. Pretty sure he led the league in scoring a few years ago in preseason.

2.) 25 Sep 2025 13:10:43
Follow up question then. What is it Robertson does so poorly? I feel like he works hard, bangs in a couple goals. I thought he was pretty good in the playoffs. He does have long stretches where the offense dries up. But I'm not convinced that's not because he's trying to play the right way.

I would like to see 1 season with him having consistent linemates.

3.) 27 Sep 2025 01:02:50
His size doesn’t allow him to play a berube style of game his defensive play is below average and he doesn’t make it up with his offence he’s a guy that would play well on and up and coming team.

I didn't say I'd give Knies for Wright, I'm saying that would be the ask from Seattle, which makes me uninterested. I think the other ask is Cowan and the first, which I also think is too much.

I was so incredibly ? nted after last season's deadline. My top price on either of those pieces would've been a second. I would've rathered us do nothing. But I was in the minority and there would've been people calling for his head had he stayed pat last year.

As someone in Calgary, the thoughts regarding tkachuk was someone gm would give a first and a prospect for him. Huberdeau coming off a 110 point season was seen as a grand slam. The tkachuk only would go to the panthers also wasn't really true. He wanted to go to an American team that was a playoff team. The reigning presidents trophy winners just fit that bill. Still it went down as an awful trade, but rear view is always 20-20 right?
