This is not happening. Matthews not getting traded. Reilly either due to no one wants him or his contract.

30 Dec 2025 14:26:53
Tor: macelli
Edm: mangiapane 800k retained.

You know what would be nice is some original thought on these posts if I want to see proposed trades by reporters or analyst I’ll read them in the articles they write. I come here to read thinking outside the box but keep getting the same ? I read in articles. Then told my posts are ridiculous cause I don’t follow the analyst or reporters outlooks or predictions.

2.) 30 Dec 2025 17:52:44
I have no issue with someone posting a deal they saw somewhere else. I would prefer they note it is something they saw, but why does it matter where they got the idea?
Some of your trades blowhard are just slight retools of what other people on here have already posted. Nor are people saying your posts are ridiculous because they don't follow analysts or reporters. They say they are ridiculous because they all heavily favour the Leafs because you don't put much value on other teams players.

Take your Utah trade you listed.
Guenther (9 OA pick) is a 22 year old on pace for 35 goals and 65 points. Close to what Matthews had as a 21 year old (37/ 73). Guenther had 27/ 33 for 60 as a 21 year old. That's not a massive difference.
Crouse-Big, physical 30-40 pt two way vet forward
Iginla- (6 OA pick)19 year old on a 100 pt pace in junior. Looks like a top 6 forward in the making.
Lamoureux- (29 OA pick)21 year old 6'7" good skating right shot D who has already played some in the NHL. Top 4 D trending.
2026 1st

What does Utah get. Matthews, (who at the moment) is not a top 5 player in the world anymore. He's on pace for just over 30 goals and 60 points. Less than last year. Makes $13.25M. You add Robertson for value. On pace for 17 goals and 35 points. Guenther and Crouse alone may equal Robertson's and Matthews production this year. And Utah is supposed to add Iginla, Lamoureux and another 1st. When Matthews was scoring 50+, that would still be a decent haul. He hasn't done that in 2 seasons now.

3.) 30 Dec 2025 18:07:55
Funny, I have young kids and don't really pay attention to outside posts just check this site once or twice a day. Pretty sure my last post was a Matthews to phili for 2 1sts Drysdale and grebenkin and got told to make more realistic trades, so what can ya do.

4.) 31 Dec 2025 00:04:55
Lol
Blowhard your trade posts are hilarious because anyone who follows hockey knows what you are posting is lunacy.

5.) 31 Dec 2025 13:40:33
Ok so you are saying guenther is going to lead the league in goals scored from now until age 28? Cause that’s what Matthews has done. FYI Matthews is averaging the same points per game as guenther at this moment. Crouse has less points then Robertson and is 4yrs older with dbl the cap hit with no RFA rights he’s a FA. These things are all factors in my trade. U take one of iginla or lamaureux out but not the picks and guenther and Crouse definitely not.

6.) 31 Dec 2025 18:13:43
Inhale deeply, exhale extremely loudly.

7.) 02 Jan 2026 01:37:15
Blowhard24, your posts often don’t follow reason!

22 Dec 2025 16:40:45
Would you guys do,

Leafs: Matthews
Phi: leafs first, grebenkin, 2026 1st, Drysdale

Tor: nylander
Bos: leafs first, 2026 1st, minten.

This would allow us to start rebuilding right away, and fix some previous mistakes, let's us be bad now and not worry about giving away high picks.

Feels a little sell low on Matthews, considering it's only a first and Drysdale more than we have up for laughton.

Shanacant

1.) 22 Dec 2025 18:13:38
As much as I want to get rid of these two along with Mo. I don’t think the package for Matthews is enough. I wouldn’t want Drysdale on my D core either. I’d love to get Grebyenkin back too. I have no idea what Willys worth is anymore. I just want him off the team so bad. This guy is a cancer for laziness and terrible work ethic. We want to change the identity, it starts with Willy. Send him, his brother and his awful YouTube channel to the States.

2.) 22 Dec 2025 19:25:21
Lafrenierre, Schneider and a pic
For Nylander and his brother

Willy has to waive and I think he would to play for the Rangers. He could do live pod casts from down town NYC! ???.

3.) 22 Dec 2025 19:51:01
Clarky, I agree, I just don't know what else of value we can get off of phili other than Drysdale.

4.) 23 Dec 2025 02:26:03
That Philly trade is terrible lay off the sauce dude.

5.) 23 Dec 2025 05:21:43
@ thekid

I need this explained to me, how is a 13.25 million 1st line center who is struggling this year 23 points in 30 games worth more than 2 firsts 1 likely high after this trade, a top 4 d that QBs pp 1 and a good 4th line banger.

6.) 24 Dec 2025 00:45:26
Are you trolling us?
Drysdale if brittle, fragile!
The always injured Drysdale was a very poor return for the Flyers in the Cutter Gauthier trade and a player the Leafs want to stay away from.

If Leafs trade Matthews they do not want picks.
They need young players between 19 - 23 years of age.
Not players who will not skate for the Leafs for another two or three years (if ever) .

7.) 24 Dec 2025 10:43:34
They want prospects who can play now plus picks. 1st rd picks to be exact.

30 Oct 2025 21:04:10
Idk if I like this or not, feels like selling low but

Tor: Matthews, carlo, robertson
Cgy: kadri, huberdeau 50%, andersen, parek.

Shanacant

1.) 30 Oct 2025 22:42:51
Selling low is an understatement. Wouldn’t give Matthews alone for that.

2.) 01 Nov 2025 19:24:24
Just get Martin Necas or a veteran ?? like Malkin since malk always goes good with Oreos (leaf sponser) ??
No matter what we need a top tier player to put in the spotlight so other players can actually fulfil their roles. trade Robertson, trade hildeby, trade danford. etc.

3.) 01 Nov 2025 23:41:59
Ouch!

23 Oct 2025 19:17:23
Tor: Matthews, woll, carlo

Nyi: sorokin, barzal, schaeffer

Tor: nylander

Dal: Robertson, Harley (long shot)
Or
Cal: huberdeau 30% retained, Andersson 50% retained.

Shanacant

1.) 23 Oct 2025 23:46:13
Ridiculous.

I haven't posted in a while, this Leafs team has been painful to watch. I am going to touch on a few things.
Berube

Berube needs to go, preferably end of the year so the Leafs don't start playing better. You guys remember how Ovi went through a bunch of coaches until they found Trotz? I feel like Toronto is in need of something similar. I don't think Matthews just can't score anymore, I think Berube's style leaves him to tired to be dynamic in the offensive zone. Hence why we have seen him not back check at least twice in OT this year and watch his guy score.

Treliving.

I have mixed feelings about Treliving. He acquired a garbage heap with a few gems in it from Dubas. Where I do blame Treliving is going all in last year. He grossly overpaid for Laughton and Carlo. I would've rathered him do nothing than make either of those moves. Beyond the deadline last year I don't hate a lot of his moves.

I am one of the few on here that is a pretty big fan of Domi. We all thought Joshua would be more impactful. Macelli had a slow start but is looking like a decent move now. OEL was a great signing. The haul he got for Roy was pretty good. Marner was mismanaged but he had like a week to get a feel for the situation. I don't blame him there.

Treliving I'd give a little more rope, but it'd be a short leash. 1 year to right the ship.

I would not bring Keefe or Dubas back. Neither did it for me.

I'm not sure who I would look at for GM, probably Pridham, unless someone was available that would bring the right mix of experience and winning pedigree.

For a coach, I wish we jumped at Quenville. I am not entirely sure who else could get this team playing the way they need to.

Tough times being a Leafs fan, tank for Mckenna, cup next year. /S

So for me, after that game mcmann should sit for a game. Doing circles to turn around bigger than the ones I do in beer league.

24 Sep 2025 19:38:12
Is this the year robertson finally puts it together?

Shanacant

1.) 24 Sep 2025 23:06:22
No. I see this comment every year when he looks good in preseason. Pretty sure he led the league in scoring a few years ago in preseason.

2.) 25 Sep 2025 13:10:43
Follow up question then. What is it Robertson does so poorly? I feel like he works hard, bangs in a couple goals. I thought he was pretty good in the playoffs. He does have long stretches where the offense dries up. But I'm not convinced that's not because he's trying to play the right way.

I would like to see 1 season with him having consistent linemates.

3.) 27 Sep 2025 01:02:50
His size doesn’t allow him to play a berube style of game his defensive play is below average and he doesn’t make it up with his offence he’s a guy that would play well on and up and coming team.

11 Aug 2025 19:51:12
What is everyone's view on brining in any of the world junior 5 if they are cleared to play in the NHL again. Would you want any of them on your team? Would you even want any of them if they weren't a part of what happened?

Shanacant

1.) 12 Aug 2025 14:40:21
I don't think any help the team, but I'm not morally against them. If I'm Edmonton I call Hart yesterday.

2.) 13 Aug 2025 19:26:19
Unfortunately that is too hot a topic for many to touch. I have always liked McLeod and used to make many props for him to the Leafs. I would consider him if I were the Leafs, but they will never do it because of the optics that come with it.

13 Jul 2025 19:05:35
People are nuts, I know Cowan is our only useful trade chip. But there are very little deals I'd do for him. Definitely not a mid 6 winger or a 50 year old karlsson. Honestly I'd only look at including him in one of the big free agents for next year in a sign and trade before this season starts.

Shanacant

1.) 14 Jul 2025 01:53:44
I'd throw in Cowan for mctavish.

2.) 14 Jul 2025 01:55:00
Young, possible 1C in a few years, definitely 2C. He probably has 20 teams making offers. I'd say Cowan, Danford, Robertson, 1st.

3.) 14 Jul 2025 05:41:20
I would also do it for McTavish. But I think I saw one for like crouse. And rust and a bunch of others, McTavish has potential to be unreal the guys I'm talking about are late 20s early 30s we know exactly what they are.

4.) 14 Jul 2025 11:30:24
@Shanacant no, I wouldn't do it for the names mentioned above either. He's the last guy in the system with any value other than maybe Danford. Have to make it worth while.

As I see it, with all the firsts traded away, the team aging as we speak and only Cowan as a prospect to speak of, it has to be a good return as it's the last trade before a rebuild eventually.

5.) 14 Jul 2025 15:20:43
I don't think I saw anyone saying Cowan for Crouse, but could be wrong.
Cowan is moveable if the return is also a young player coming back that we know what he is (under 25). MacTavish is a great example.
I would also consider for a couple of good, but considered lesser than Cowan young guys.

If Anaheim offered Colangelo and Luneau for Cowan, I would seriously consider that one as well.

Nobody is offer sheeting either of those guys with that being the draft pick return. It would be lovely, but not all that realistic.

I didn't look at cap, but looks like to much with a quick look. I could be wrong though. I don't hate Petterson the way some do, but definitely way over paid. Laine, I think you offered to much. He struggles to get playing time in Montreal.

I would consider him on a show me deal though. As good as Andersson is, I think we will all be severely disappointed giving him that kind of money. He is very good, but at that price I think our fans run him out of town pretty quick.

I agree with all except moving tavares to the wing, Tavares is way better in the draw and typically defensively. Stammer also has spent most of the last few years on the wing, at least in Tampa.

As someone in Calgary, the thoughts regarding tkachuk was someone gm would give a first and a prospect for him. Huberdeau coming off a 110 point season was seen as a grand slam. The tkachuk only would go to the panthers also wasn't really true. He wanted to go to an American team that was a playoff team. The reigning presidents trophy winners just fit that bill. Still it went down as an awful trade, but rear view is always 20-20 right?

Why does everything have to get political. It is no secret Bettman has always favoured American teams. Canadians haven't won since his first year.

My bet is nylander scores Matthews rips 6 off the glass mcmann isn't very noticeable. Just little bursts of speed.
