I might be one of the only ones but I would like to see a Reilly for Petterson. Trade. Neither side eats salary, Leafs probably add a tiny bit due to Petterson's position. But I would say we had like a Hirvonen.
1.) 20 Jun 2026 05:00:20
Do you think Vancouver actually would do that? Unless they just want to save some money and really blow their team up.
Would help solve the second line center problem. Would have a few bucks left to get a depth piece and maybe sign Roberston and McKenna's ELC
2.) 20 Jun 2026 10:01:00
I’m pretty sure it was reported that Reilly wouldn’t waive to go to Vancouver, which makes sense. Why would he want to go to a rebuilding team?
3.) 20 Jun 2026 13:05:44
When I purposed this a month ago I had Robertson going to Vancouver as well I think he’s going to ask for a similar salary to Domi which equals the cap hit and I believe Reilly waves to go home!!
4.) 21 Jun 2026 03:05:34
Reilly would definitely wave to go home. What r u talking about ?. Reilly plus Robertson and a 3rd pick or prospect would get this done I believe. No retention on either side. Realistically u save on having to resign Robertson and only eat up $4.1m of salary cap with the difference between Reilly and Elias.

Not even sure I like this trade, but here we go.
Tor: Reilly, Stolarz, Col 1st
Nyr: Zibinejad, Schneider, Laba, Rempe
Zibby is getting old and may not be great, but a decent stop gap until we can find our true 2C
Lineup becomes:
Mckenna Matthews Nylander
Knies Zibinejad Cowan
Robertson Tavares Domi/Macelli
Joshua Laba Rempe/Lorentz
OEL Tanev
McCabe Schneider
Benoit/rookie Carlo
Woll
Hildeby.
I feel like this team should be competitive, and we spend everything we have on teaching Rempe to skate properly. If we can shift him somehow from an enforcer to a power forward, could be the steal of the trade. Would also consider replacing Zibby with Trochek.
1.) 12 Jun 2026 21:15:24
I don’t think the Rangers like that trade either…
09 Jun 2026 22:20:07
Tor: 7th
Cgy: Huberdeau, 2027 top 5 protected 1st
Tor: Reilly 20% retained
Ana: Zelwegger 2027 2nd
Tor: Stolarz
Edm: Savoie 4th
Tor: Nylander
Chi: Korinsky, 4th OA, 2027 2nd
Thoughts: Huberdeau is a big risk but Matthews needs someone passing him the puck and Huberdeau needs someone that can put his passes in the back of the net, that contract has negative value so we get a 1st with it because we don't make them retain.
We draft McKenna and Maholtra.
With us bringing in 2 D prospects and us having Danford we are looking pretty on D moving forward.
We have given up our 2 1sts for the next 2 years which sucks but we have gotten one back this year and with the Colorado pick 2 next year. We get younger and faster. We still have some work to do on this team but we don't go full rebuild and the only 2 remaining are Tavares and Matthews, if it's a bad year we look at recouping assets for Matthews at the deadline or next year.
Thoughts?
1.) 10 Jun 2026 08:54:33
There’s some flaws to your trade. The Flames, for starters, probably are not giving up a first. They are rebuilding so they don't need to move out money that bad. Also Brad isn't their GM anymore so at very least that pick is top 10 protected. The Reilly trade makes some sense, but if I'm the Leafs I'm not taking on money for another 5 years, and the Ducks aren't gonna give up Zellweger plus a 2nd, but I'd take Zellweger 1 for 1.
The Stollie trade I don't mind either, but he doesn't have any value since he's always hurt. And the last trade I just think Willy doesn't waive his no move for Chicago.
2.) 10 Jun 2026 09:40:26
Seriously?
The always injured Stolarz for Savoi plus a 4th.
I know we’re dealing with Stan Bowman but even he isn’t that cognitively deficient.
Huberdeau?
Huberdeau has 5 more years to run on his contract at $10.5 million.
Why would Anaheim want Rielly when they have two great young prospects in Mintyukov and Zelwegger?
Except you want them to give us Zelwegger plus a 2nd for Rielly.
Verbeek isn’t that foolish.
Korchinski can’t even make the Blackhawks team and has been passed on the depth chart by Levshunov and Sam Rinzel.
No thanks.
29 May 2026 17:41:25
Would you guys do
Tor: Reilly, Robertson Col 1st
Ana: McTavish, Hinds.
1.) 29 May 2026 19:40:46
No I think it too much and I have no interest in McT.
07 May 2026 17:46:40
Would you guys do this trade with Mckenna apparently being a massive Flames fan?
Tor: 1 OA, Reilly
Cgy: both 1sts this year, their best 2nd this year, their better 1st next year, Parekh and Frost?
1.) 07 May 2026 17:09:32
Wow Calgary is not that desperate.
2.) 07 May 2026 19:24:05
That would only happen if Treliving was the GM again in Calgary lmao.

I don't get the Domi hate, people expect him to be Clark sorry to tell you, we aren't getting a Clark for Domi's price tag, he chips in here and there and stands up for his team, takes stupid penalties sometimes but honestly. He's be one of the last players on this team I'd trade, he bleeds blue and that's rare these days.
1.) 09 Apr 2026 20:20:01
I hole heartily agree with this comment.
2.) 10 Apr 2026 02:38:32
I'm not saying he isn't tradeable, but if people think Domi is the biggest problem, then the problems are larger than many think. I am not saying I wouldn't trade him, but it's not the most pressing issue Imo.
3.) 10 Apr 2026 08:37:32
The problem with someone like Domi is his best years are behind him. That piss and vinegar he shows every now and again the Leafs need that Domi more often. I remember in his early years he was an agitator always beaking at someone. Instead he a guy without a role on a not good team.

I haven't posted in a while, this Leafs team has been painful to watch. I am going to touch on a few things.
Berube
Berube needs to go, preferably end of the year so the Leafs don't start playing better. You guys remember how Ovi went through a bunch of coaches until they found Trotz? I feel like Toronto is in need of something similar. I don't think Matthews just can't score anymore, I think Berube's style leaves him to tired to be dynamic in the offensive zone. Hence why we have seen him not back check at least twice in OT this year and watch his guy score.
Treliving.
I have mixed feelings about Treliving. He acquired a garbage heap with a few gems in it from Dubas. Where I do blame Treliving is going all in last year. He grossly overpaid for Laughton and Carlo. I would've rathered him do nothing than make either of those moves. Beyond the deadline last year I don't hate a lot of his moves.
I am one of the few on here that is a pretty big fan of Domi. We all thought Joshua would be more impactful. Macelli had a slow start but is looking like a decent move now. OEL was a great signing. The haul he got for Roy was pretty good. Marner was mismanaged but he had like a week to get a feel for the situation. I don't blame him there.
Treliving I'd give a little more rope, but it'd be a short leash. 1 year to right the ship.
I would not bring Keefe or Dubas back. Neither did it for me.
I'm not sure who I would look at for GM, probably Pridham, unless someone was available that would bring the right mix of experience and winning pedigree.
For a coach, I wish we jumped at Quenville. I am not entirely sure who else could get this team playing the way they need to.
Tough times being a Leafs fan, tank for Mckenna, cup next year. /S

So for me, after that game mcmann should sit for a game. Doing circles to turn around bigger than the ones I do in beer league.
24 Sep 2025 19:38:12
Is this the year robertson finally puts it together?
1.) 24 Sep 2025 23:06:22
No. I see this comment every year when he looks good in preseason. Pretty sure he led the league in scoring a few years ago in preseason.
2.) 25 Sep 2025 13:10:43
Follow up question then. What is it Robertson does so poorly? I feel like he works hard, bangs in a couple goals. I thought he was pretty good in the playoffs. He does have long stretches where the offense dries up. But I'm not convinced that's not because he's trying to play the right way.
I would like to see 1 season with him having consistent linemates.
3.) 27 Sep 2025 01:02:50
His size doesn’t allow him to play a berube style of game his defensive play is below average and he doesn’t make it up with his offence he’s a guy that would play well on and up and coming team.
11 Aug 2025 19:51:12
What is everyone's view on brining in any of the world junior 5 if they are cleared to play in the NHL again. Would you want any of them on your team? Would you even want any of them if they weren't a part of what happened?
1.) 12 Aug 2025 14:40:21
I don't think any help the team, but I'm not morally against them. If I'm Edmonton I call Hart yesterday.
2.) 13 Aug 2025 19:26:19
Unfortunately that is too hot a topic for many to touch. I have always liked McLeod and used to make many props for him to the Leafs. I would consider him if I were the Leafs, but they will never do it because of the optics that come with it.
16 Jun 2026 18:19:41
I don't really get it either, I don't see how you even flip him, maybe the offer was a 4th I less we took the contract slot to bump it up to a 4th. It feels like a not great return for Woll. But I'm also not super familiar with that defenseman.
09 Jun 2026 16:48:51
I misread the draft pick, thought they were giving us the 5th overall this year.
09 Jun 2026 13:13:41
Exactly my thoughts, thanks suffering.
09 Jun 2026 13:11:45
Every single team hangs up and thanks you, stating there isn't much humour in the life of a GM.
08 Jun 2026 18:11:26
I don't see why Calgary does this with where they are in their rebuild.
30 Mar 2026 19:14:58
I was so incredibly ? nted after last season's deadline. My top price on either of those pieces would've been a second. I would've rathered us do nothing. But I was in the minority and there would've been people calling for his head had he stayed pat last year.
01 Feb 2026 21:08:20
As someone in Calgary, the thoughts regarding tkachuk was someone gm would give a first and a prospect for him. Huberdeau coming off a 110 point season was seen as a grand slam. The tkachuk only would go to the panthers also wasn't really true. He wanted to go to an American team that was a playoff team. The reigning presidents trophy winners just fit that bill. Still it went down as an awful trade, but rear view is always 20-20 right?
13 Jan 2026 00:29:40
State of panic would also work for him.
28 Dec 2025 16:15:24
I thought you were deleting your account?
09 Dec 2025 23:52:44
Why does everything have to get political. It is no secret Bettman has always favoured American teams. Canadians haven't won since his first year.
