I like them too. I'd love to get a guarantee that Ferraro would sign with the leafs though. He is a good one. I know that San Jose and Florida have been talking about Bobrovsky. It would be nice to find a way of doing a 3 way deal with San Jose and Florida and Toronto to Involve Stolarz going back to Florida and Bobrovsky going to San Jose and Getting some assets out of Florida. Problem is their Cupboards are pretty bare in the Prospects and the Draft pool. Loustarainen would be nice to pry off them for Stolarz perhaps.

If leafs come out of Olympic break and the players that r being rumoured in trades keep playing well. There is a very good chance leafs fetch multiple 1st picks for them. If that is true then leafs brass needs to entertain all of them and stock the shelves. The 6games b4 the deadline will determine if they will be able to. Carlo, OEL, Mcmann, and dare I say Laughton.

I previously had trade with Mcmann going to LAK for another 1st and prospect. With the Fiala injury makes a perfect replacement there. There’s your four 1st rd picks. Then u do what u want with other players like Jarnkrok, Domi, Joshua, Benoit.

Personally I have little interest in draft picks in exchange for Leaf players.
Draft picks won’t be selected until June of this year.
That is followed by at least another year in juniors and another year or two, (for late 1st round picks), in the AHL, before they are ready to compete for a roster spots.
I feel Leafs should be targeting D+1, D+2 and D+3 prospects some of whom will be ready to compete for roster spots at this falls training camo.
By drafting players who have already been drafted Leafs get a better look at their progress a year, 2 or 3 after they have been drafted.

Who’s playing defence for you moving forward lol I’ve said many times moving Carlo doesn’t make a ton of sense you paid a fortune to get him and to replace him you will most likely have to do the same. OEL has been great this year but zero chance he pulls that package and the third trade is ok I’m not sure I’d move Laughton personally.

Those can be used to acquire good players and nhl players not prospects bounced back and fourth from the minors for the last 2-3 yrs. Deep draft a lot of good players to choose from this year and next. Draft picks get u players prospects don’t.

So who is Shane wright being traded for? Macelli?
and McMann is being traded for the 1st round pick?
If I am the leafs I say yes to both of those but I if I am Seattle I would fall off my chair laughing before saying no. I am pretty sure that even though McMann doesn't have a no trade contract the Leafs are smart enough that is they deal him they would consult with him and his agent on what team he would most likely want to sign with as a free agent prior to the Free agency kicking in. I think McMann is worth a first round pick in the late half of the round but a team will only give that if they are sure they can sign him. As far as Shane wright for Macelli for sure I would love that deal for the leafs, but Seattle has a massive amount of prospects that they will be bringing up in the near future and Macelli as a RFA will be looking for a raise so homegrown prospects Logan Morrison, Jagger Firkus on the farm team or Jake O'brien who if not for a Injury in December would be comfortably leading the OHL in scoring all would be cheaper options than Macelli. I think to do this deal the leafs would have to sweeten the pot with another body that is young and under contract.

B4 u talk look at stats. Mcmann is the 1st which if u look Seattle has 2 in 2026 and 2027 so they can easily give up one of them for a 30g scorer with a low aav. They need scoring. Wright has not lived up to his potential has 22 pts in 56g. Maccelli has 24pts in 46g and is trending upward with his play. Looking like the guy who got 56pts a couple of years ago. You r taking a chance on Wright. Not worth more than that no matter how many unready prospects they have. They r in a playoff spot and need to add scoring and these 2 guys do that.

Wright could use a change of scenery for sure. His confidence there is so low. If he finds his game, he has a ceiling of a 2C and a low as a 3C. C carries more value than wingers. He just turned 22 and had 44 points last season with 19 goals.
Seattle is set up pretty good cap wise next season and could afford to re-sign McMann and Maccelli. That said, I doubt they have given up on their former 4th overall pick so much that they basically give him away when he had a 44 point season last year. They probably are looking for a 1st as a return and know it won't be top 15.
I doubt Seattle would even consider this.

So yes McMann only earns $1,350,000 but what will he earn next year and can Seattle sign him? Otherwise they gave up a 1st round pick that was a rental player. I think truthfully because he has flourished in Toronto that they sign him sooner than later. He is a good fit here but he may not be in another city. The only reason his name keeps coming up is because he is one of the only real assets that doesn't have any trade restrictions at all in his contract.
I have to respectfully disagree with the Shane wright for Macelli. Sure Wright has not put up explosive numbers But in the last 5 to 10 games he has turned his game up as well. The one thing he has doen well is adapt to two way hockey. In plus minus he has been a plus In every season he has played games for Seattle. However Macelli has been a Minus player during his career and in a saw off of numbers I will take the better two way player anytime. Plus I think as Seattles younger prospects enter the league he will flourish maybe not as a explosive player but a John Tavares type with lower numbers in the 60 to 70 point range but still be sound defensively . To add scoring to Seattle before the young gunners get there it would take bigger names than these.

There’s all this talk about a leafs scout being at a Rangers game so they assume it’s for panarin. Only problem is he’s not playing so obviously not there for him. I’m thinking they would be looking at other available players which in my eyes would be a 2C.
