Sam Bennett, Rasmus Anderson, 47th, 96th draft selections in 2020
for
Kapanen, Liljegren, Brooks, Bracco
Hyman, Bennett, Robertson can be a deadly 3rd line for the Leafs.
Leafs then could package Gauthier, Johnson and 96th draft selection for a mid to late first round pick in 2020
1.) 01 Jul 2020 18:33:35
Cant see johnsson gauthier and a 4th rounder land a mid to late 1st round pick
Johnson might land a 3rd
Gauthier may land a 7th
Add in that early 4th round pick and you could land a mid to late 2nd rounder and that could still be debated.
2.) 02 Jul 2020 02:00:10
Kinda think both these trades favor the Leafs. Lol. Andersson ~ Kapanen, which leaves the rest for Bennett, which is questionable. Especially since Bennett is in the NHL and established roster player. Brooks and Bracco carry so little value as to be essentially not worth anything here. And really, I have to wonder how much would Calgary want Liljegren when they have such a strong defense core already, including Valimaki, who was drafted one position after Liljegren? I guess it depends on if they re-sign any of their UFA's.
01 Jul 2020 15:41:04
Ty Dellandrea, Jason Robertson, 22nd pick in 2020 for Dermott, Kerfoot, Johnsson
Kapanen and Ceci to LA for Vilardi
1.) 01 Jul 2020 16:18:27
Ceci is pending UFA.
2.) 01 Jul 2020 18:29:12
No way dermott kerfoot and johnson land 2 great prospects and a 1st. Dallas would be 7 plus million over cap with this deal anyways.
3.) 01 Jul 2020 23:59:33
If someone decided to smoke a joint and make that trade for Kerfoot, Dermott and Johnson then I'm totally for it but I doubt it happens lol.
4.) 02 Jul 2020 02:11:10
Vilardi has recurring back problems. He's a real wild card. I would avoid him. LA took a huge gamble drafting him. Of they wanted to throw in a pick or something to help hedge against Vilardi being damaged goods, it might be worth it. Otherwise I think Leafs are better off just taking the highest pick they can get for Kapanen. There is no doubting the skill Vilardi has. But recurring back injuries that have caused him to miss large parts of seasons past is something that I would be very concerned about in any trade for him.

My proposed trades:
Vesalainen, 1st round pick and rights to Byflugien in exchange for Kappanen and Gauthier
Dermott, Nylander, Brooks, Timashov in exchange for Ristolainen, Sam Reinhart, Tage Thompson
Barrie for Bertuzzi, Veleno and a conditional 1st round pick in 2021
-Pick up Bogosian.
-Pick up Devante Smith-Pelly
Matthews, Reinhart, Bertuzzi
Tavares, Marner, Hyman
Clifford, Veleno, Bracco/Smith Pelly
Vesalainen, Der-Arguchintsev/Spezza, Mikheyev/Tage Thompson
Rielly, Ristolainen
Sandin, Byflugien
Bogosian, Greenway
Callups on d: Liljegren, Ceci, Rasanen, Jordan Subban
Callups on c: Malgin or Der-Arguchintsev
Callups on wing: Mikheyev/Tage Thompson or Smith-Pelly, Engvall
ESTABLISHED ROLES ON THE TEAM:
The guys that should primarily be playing physical and agressively forechecking for loose pucks: Bertuzzi, Hyman, Clifford, Veleno, Mikeheyev or Tage (accordingly)
Guys who should be the centre playmakers: Reinhart, Marner, Veleno, Der-Arguchintsev/Spezza
Defense that should be playing more physical: Ristolainen, Byflugien and Greenway
1.) 22 Feb 2020 18:09:15
Moronto Maple Thieves.
2.) 22 Feb 2020 18:15:21
If Bogosian was picked up and Barrie traded for a second I would call it a win. That's probably where I see the team. If they go on a heater anything is possible but currently I don't see beating Boston so having a pick and/ or prospect for a UFA and adding someone to fill his role better would be my ideal scenario.
3.) 23 Feb 2020 03:16:32
Hulk Hogan Brother!

05 Dec 2019 01:00:53
Nylander, Liljegren for Domi, Armia and 1st round pick
Kappanen, Johnson, Moore, Sandin for Ritchie, Max Jones
Hyman, Kerfoot, Bracco, 1st for Radulov
Gauthier, Barrie, Holl for Mantha
My fantasy roster below scratches key points this current Leafs team is lacking: size, physicality, effort
Ritchie, Matthews, Radulov
Domi, Tavares, Marner
Max Jones, Armia, Mantha
Engvall, Petan, Mikheyev
1.) 05 Dec 2019 08:46:15
What possible use does Detroit have for a fourth line centre, a rental D and a bottom 4 D during a complete rebuild one exchange for the guy they are building around?
I like Radulov. I really do. But he's 33 and another RW. If your trading for him him you can't lose two LW in the process as nobody can replace them.
That Montreal one is a bit of a head scratcher. Domi had one good year and now he seems to have slowed down a bit. Armia has been in the league for awhile now and played like crap now he seems to be having a breakout year. Always hard to tell in those situations. The 1st won't be a lottery pick so not worth as much.
Probably say no to this as Nylander is better than either guy coming back and Lili is needed to play on his ELC for awhile to save money. Also considering he could become a top 4D easily. Who knows?
I realize you are saying all of these at once not separately but the lineups you posted look worse than the current team to me anyway.
30 Nov 2019 21:38:51
Kappanen, Kerfoot, Muzzin, Bracco for Dubois, Wennberg
Matthews, Johnson, Liljegren, Gauthier for Tkachuk, Sam Bennet, Jankowski, 2nd, 3rd round pick
The Leafs new roster:
Takchuk, Tavares, Marner (1st line)
Moore, Dubois, Mikheyev (2nd line)
Engvall, Wennberg, Nylander (3rd line)
Petan, Jankowski, Bennet (4th line)
1.) 30 Nov 2019 23:32:59
Nice troll job.
2.) 30 Nov 2019 23:48:15
Those lines are pretty well spread after line 1
Rielly ceci
Dermott barrie
Marincin holl
Do you like that?
3.) 01 Dec 2019 00:00:33
What about the defense.
4.) 01 Dec 2019 02:19:34
Appreciate the thought but I will assume you are joking.
5.) 01 Dec 2019 02:56:30
Columbus says no anyway. A 3RW, a pending UFA, an underperforming 3C, and an AHL lifer does not even come close to Dubois, let lone throw in Wennberg. We would have to give them back a real quality player of some sort for Dubois.
6.) 01 Dec 2019 05:26:24
This is a serious downgrade.
7.) 01 Dec 2019 09:21:16
I actually like the new look Leafs you have suggested here. But it still doesn’t solve our two biggest problems: backup goalie (and possible future replacement for Andersen), and a top 1RHD. Maybe replace Jankowski with Andersson. Still not optimal, but a bit better maybe?

Kerfoot, Bracco, Liljegren, Muzzin, Kappanen, Marchment for Taylor Hall and Seversson
Hall, Matthews, Marner
Hyman, Tavares, Mikheyev
Moore, Spezza, Korshkov
Engvall, Petan, Shore
This means that Nylander and Gauthier are on the trade block.
Jordan Greenway and Jonas Brodin will do very nicely.
1.) 20 Oct 2019 05:10:21
No. They can't have Kerfoot. Their is absolutely no one to replace him on the third line. The leafs winning right now isn't because they have Mathews, Tavares, Marner and Nylander. They only win games playing this bad defensively because no one match line for line equally with the leafs top 3 lines. Who would possibly play 3C? It would have to be either Spezza, Goat, Marner or Nylander and none of them are viable options. Even if they were, Kerfoot is signed for longer to a good contract. Give them Hyman instead if Hall is coming back. Hyman is only signed one year beyond this one and hall is also a LW.
2.) 27 Oct 2019 22:54:59
I wish Toronto never signed Tavares they were realy doing good for a young team 2 years ago. All they needed was good defence and grit which they had before they went to the islanders. Dubas wake up your leafs are going no where. The kids got thier money and laughing all the way to the bank.
01 Jul 2018 22:42:31
Viktor Rask, Haydn Fleury, 1st round pick in 2019 for Matt Martin, Carrick, Hainsey, Kappanen, Connor Brown
Jake Gardiner, Bracco, Nielsen, McEhlenny, 1st round in 2019 for Filip Forsberg.
Leafs win the Stanley Cup. Yea boiii.
1.) 02 Jul 2018 23:57:21
Both these trades heavily favour Leafs.
2.) 03 Jul 2018 09:04:03
Besides the fact that these both favour the leafs - than you MorotnoLaple. ^^ - neither trade really helps toronto's needs anyway. The leafs forwards are absolutely stacked now with the JT signing and have EASILY top 3 best front 9 in the NHL. Sure adding Forsberg would be unbelievable, but it makes 0 sense whatsoever! Beyond the fact we wouldn't be able to pay for his contract, if we're giving away those young prospects ( + gardiner and McElenny), we're trading for a D man! ZERO sense in trying to bolster the offence when it's already elite and then the D is lacking.
24 Jul 2017 16:02:59
Dump Bozak to any team with a surplus of RD prospects.
Dump leo the heeero to any team with surplus draft picks and a Rd
1.) 26 Jul 2017 14:22:32
Leo isn't going to get u a good rhd plus prospects plus we don't have room for more contracts.
05 Jul 2017 20:11:36
JVR, Bracco, Dermott for Shea Theodore, Nic Hague, 1st and a 2nd
As good as Bracco could be he is smallish and we don't need more of that. Plus he hasn't proven anything playing in the NHL.
If a deal like that gets done our D depth chart gets a whole lot better. And we can get draft picks to continue this rebuild.
1.) 08 Jul 2017 13:59:44
We need RHD. As good as those prospects are; they are both LHD.
2.) 10 Jul 2017 08:43:33
Substitute Miller for Hague and it is a pretty good looking trade. Miller satisfies Leafs immediate need for a partner for Reilly, he is young still and cheap. Clears some cap space and a roster spot. Theodore is a ready made partner for Liljgren. A chance for another high draft pick in the system.
3.) 11 Jul 2017 18:03:45
Ask yourself why would an expansion team trade players that are 21, 18 and two 17 year olds for two guys that are not in the NHL and a guy who’s 28 and on the last year of his contract? They wouldn’t. Theodore alone would get you JVR, Bracco and Dermott. OK, you might get a 4th round pick with Theodore. haha.
4.) 20 Jul 2017 02:10:56
Theodore is just barely in the NHL, Hague hasn't seen a game and neither have the players the picks get.
Vegas has to ice a team and right now they are still short on capable NHL'rs.
Spider has it right with Miller instead of Hague. It's a good trade that can be augmented by supplemental trades like the NYI 5 for 1 last year.
Vegas has two rosters to fill, and the Leafs are just the team to help them.
01 Jul 2017 10:40:18
Development roster
Yay! Jonathan Smart! Why isn't Minulin on this list? Super pissed off right now. Should have also invited Bodak. A lot of the guys they invited are just way too small. Sometimes exceptional talent can compensate but even then...this team needs some size. The baseline barring exceptional talent/skating should be 5'11-6ft. Minulin is just the kind of player the Leafs need.
Has size and a pretty solid game but isn't quite a gigantor who could be at 7 ft. The Leafs upper brass need a reality check. *Cough Mark Hunter cough*. Ryan Peckford and Austin Pratt were also two centres they should have seriously invited. Don't even get me started on the wingers.
As for what they could do on the trade front they should offer Vegas JVR, Gardiner and 1st in 2018 or 2019 for Miller, Nicolas Hague, William Karlsson and 2nd, 3rd in 2019.
It's a rebuild for a reason... REBUILD the team. You are getting a decent 3rd or 4th line centre. A decent RHD. A project who wants to play for Toronto at LD. Gardiner is offensive but is not good defensively his plus minus is deceptive. A change of scenery could help him. JVR is a grinder in front of the net.
Sam Gagner is a solid centre who is underrated and could be had on the cheap to free up space for our core 3 in Matthews, Marner and Nylander.
As for any dmen looking to test market...they are looking to cash in and are likely overrated and bound to be over paid.
1.) 01 Jul 2017 14:04:15
Lmao, where do people come up with this stuff. Gardiner was our best D-man last season and it wasn't even close. JVR is a big man who pots 25 plus every season. and WERE giving OUR 1st with them for a second rounder and some spare parts. Yup. okay Dave Nonis. Players in development camp on invites aren't going to sign most of the time, no need to get flustered, we drafted a 6'7 RHD in the second round, it's not like we're anti size, they're going after market inefficiency. As for the rebuild, you do realize we're playoff team as it stands right? Come on, we're done building the base, we need to build as we grow (as all teams should) but the rebuild is mainly done. Get a grip man.
2.) 01 Jul 2017 16:43:48
Maybe Minulin signed up for someone else's camp; You know, the other 30 development camps.
It's not like there's an order to camp invites.
The Leafs have already piled in LHD and have now drafted RHD, and are still searching for young veteran RHD. So they've prepped for a Dman trade. The right way to do it.
Seems like everything is in order. Some interesting invites, pretty much all of their recent picks are in attendance, and a good mixture of invites.
I see little issues with the camp.
Wh.

I would go:
NJ
Nylander $6.96M
Sandin
Robertson
Amirov
Tor
Blackwood $2.8M
Foote ELC
Zetterlund RFA
Graves
Sharangovich or Zacha.
19 Apr 2019 15:00:08
Nashville would be on some hard drugs to make that trade.
12 May 2018 19:30:08
The Leafs have their choice of Par Lindholm or Aaltonen to fill a C spot on one of the bottom pairs.
24 Jul 2017 16:06:23
Wouldn't do that trade. Pittsburgh could be a step further to a dynasty. They are going to pay out of their pocket or no deal! Mamata never even played a full season before. Throw in a 1st and 2nd and we can talk. They won't need Marchenko or Fehr. Think Soshnikov (preferably) or Brown.
23 Jul 2017 15:56:53
More like Bozak, Aaltonen, 2nd, 3rd for Zibanejad and Sean Day.
They both have size and tremendous upside as a result. A Nyalnder, Zibanejad, Marner line would be sweet. (Downside is Zibanejad has never truly played a full season; at 24 he is easily a 20-25 goal guy and has size which the Leafs are severely lacking. Day is an unknown commodity but has amazing skating ability and was granted exceptional status (needs good coaching and support) . TLDR I make this deal in a heartbeat. The 2nd and 3rd easily offset them losing Day because he was a late selection.
