Considering what Rangers traded for Trouba, it seems like a real overpay from the Leafs. And two high priced forwards for the Rangers is nothing for them. Leafs have three of them. Shesteyorkin is only one of their goalies. They would still have Georgiev to build around. He's just as good.

Wasn’t Trouba in his last year before UFA when traded, wasn't he valued more like a 1 year rental hence the Rangers not trading much for him. ceiling Is higher then Georgiev. This trade makes more sense to me for the Leafs then the Rangers. Interesting with everyone’s analysis on this. I wonder what Dubas will do to address our D, and our starting goalie when Anderson’s contract is up after next year.

I'm more worried about the goalie problem right now. We have defenseman that look like they are going to grow into the roles we want them, and probably won't take much longer either from the looks of it. But we absolutely do not have a goalie to replace Andersen. When push comes to shove, I'd it means giving up anyone else on the team in order to keep Andersen, Leafs have got to do it. Marners, Matthews, Reilly, everyone else on the team, they are all somewhat replaceable. Andersen is not.

Leafs can pick up a player. between now and the playoffs though the player would not b eligible for the playoffs. What do u guys think if the Leafs picked up a player like Del Zotto or Daley. Is there any other players that u think might b worth while. A defensive veteran center would b helpful.

How about Hall? He would probably be very cheap right now, especially as we get closer to the playoffs and Arizona drops further out of contention. It seems a little counter-intuitive to be suggesting another forward, but I don't think any one defenseman will fix our problems in the back end. Leafs seem intent to continue to try to outscore their opponents at all times of the game. Adding another elite defenseman night give us the extra goal a game we need to stay ahead. Adding a defenseman won't keep the goal out of the bet as much as adding Hall would out more in.

I don't think it would be much. It's not like Arizona gave up a huge package for him. As it stands right now, he would probably only cost a 2nd+ b-prospect. Even that seems like an overpay. I mean, let's face it, he can't play in the playoffs and Arizona is not going to make the playoffs from the looks of it. So they take what they can.

WTF, Resigning Muzzin and trading Hutch for Rosen was our trade dead moves. Seems like they could have got Bogosian without giving up assets and Simmonds with the Devils eating $ for mid round pick.

Simmonds went for a 5th so it could have easily been done. I'm lost as to what Dubas was thinking. He didn't trade Barrie which means he believes in the team still but he also didn't get help for them after watching every team around him very significantly upgrade their roster. Tampa and Boston both stacked up for a run, Pittsburgh and Washington are making it clear they want one more crack at it while ovie and Crosby still young enough and the Islanders significantly improved.
He neither sold nor bought. Don't get it at all. Worst trade deadline ever.

Krug is good though I do r think his the type of dman ynat makes sense for the Leafs defensive chemistry, rather have a top 4 defensive dman who can clear the crease and compliment Reilly. in regards to Kappy moving up it seems most effective to me when u pair Mathews and JT with Nylander and Marner then have Kerfoot centering the 3rd line with Kappy.
