So apparently, the Rangers really wanted Brady and missed out. They want a power forward bad and would probably overpay for one.

Tor - Knies, Col 1st, Robertson, Carlo
NYR - Lafreniere, Schneider, 5th overall

The Rangers are not a well run organization. I do think a player like Laf leaving NY would be good for him.

I know the Rangers are severely overpaying here for Knies but it's the player they want and they keep running their players out of town.

Tor gets a winger to replace Knies, a solid defenceman in Schneider, and the 5th overall pick which they would use on Verhoeff or Carels.

VanCreamsdyk

1.) 22 Jun 2026 14:05:30
I don't know.
They don't seem to believe in Lafreniere anymore so he may not be the best chip.

What about the fifth Schneider and Fox?

2.) 22 Jun 2026 14:25:55
Why would you say they don’t believe in Lafreniere? They actually aren't shopping him but if the offer is right I am sure with their state of their team they would listen. Every team, if the Rangers comes up in conversation on trade sites, mentions him. It isn’t because they don’t want him it’s just he is the player fans want from the Rangers.

3.) 22 Jun 2026 14:55:27
@CreamD Not unless Cuylle is coming back too. Plus 5oa and Laf and or Schneider. We need someone who will be a problem. Cuylle is that guy.

4.) 22 Jun 2026 19:53:45
Overlay by Leafs.

Apparently the Leafs are still exploring a Knies trade. Chicago was interested.

Tor- Knies, Robertson, 3rd
Chi- 4th overall, Levshunov, Korchinski

Chicago gets their guy to play beside Bedard that they covet and depth scoring. Toronto gets 2 young puck moving d-men and draft Stenberg at 4 (Assuming Reid and Malholtra go before him).

With Toronto bringing in McKenna and Stenberg they still have a big hole at 2C.

Tor - Reilly, 2027 1st Col
Van - Pettersson

I know people don't like Pettersson but he is a former 100 point player that could be had for cheap.

He might enjoy playing on an all Swedish line in Toronto.

Top 6

McKenna-Matthews-Cowan
Stenberg-Pettersson-Nylander

Tavares to 3C

D-core still needs work but with these moves they actually clear more cap space moving Reilly and Knies so you can spend on a guy like Hamilton, Raddysh or Carlson or 2 of those 3.

VanCreamsdyk

1.) 18 Jun 2026 10:27:08
That Swedish line will be -75 ?

2.) 18 Jun 2026 10:46:37
The day the Leafs trade Knies, is the day I become a permanent Ducks fan. That has to be one of the softest teams I’ve ever seen anyone put on this site. Tkachuk and Bennett would enjoy playing these guys.

3.) 18 Jun 2026 13:43:13
Look at clearly overreacting like a typical Leafs fan. Sometimes you have to trade something good to get something good. I'd hope my judgement u til you see the return.

4.) 18 Jun 2026 15:27:21
Problem is that Matthews and Nylander asked for 2 things, a mobile D-man and some ”Dogs” up front to forecheck, dig in the corners for them and stick up for them. None of these players address that! I think Mason Marchment will be in Leafs top 6 this year.

And I hope Knies is still there on the other line. Then sign Boone Jenner for third line center.

5.) 18 Jun 2026 18:06:12
If u r absorbing the whole cap hit of Peterson you don't need to give the Nucks that 1st rd pick. Reilly a prospect or even Robertson and a 2nd or 3rd rd draft pick enough. No thanks. Leave Knies out of trades these r the same guys saying that the coaching candidates had been narrowed down to four and totally missed the bus with Hiller.

McKenna Matthews Cowan
Knies Pettersson Nylander
Tavares

6.) 19 Jun 2026 00:35:45
Don’t want Korchinski.
Korchinski was drafted back in 2022 (This will be his D+5 season) and still has not been able to make the Blackhawks team even falling behind Sam Rinzel on the Blackhawks prospect list.

#4, Sam Rinzel (RHD) Vaclav Nestrasil (RW)
Use the #1 pick to take McKenna (I prefer Stenberg) and the #4 pick to take Viggo Bjorck (RW)
Selecting a new, top 6 RW allows the Leafs to trade Nylander.

06 Jun 2026 13:30:27
3-way trade

Tor gets - Larkin, Zharovsky, Reinbacher

Mon gets - Knies, Tor 2nd 2026 (It's not our pick but whatever one we have)

Det gets - Tor 1st 2027 (Col pick), Hage

Toronto gets 2nd line center and replacement for Knies, as well as, a d prospect

Montreal gets the guy they have wanted all year

Det gets a good center prospect to eventually replace Larkin and a 1st

McKenna-Matthews-Cowan
Zharovsky-Larkin-Nylander

Thats a solid top 6.

VanCreamsdyk

1.) 06 Jun 2026 15:11:22
Solid as diarrhea.

2.) 06 Jun 2026 18:58:01
Interesting trade prop
Very original.
I would do it for the Leafs.

3.) 06 Jun 2026 19:42:50
First of all, that pick going to Detroit even if it’s a first will be high, not worth it for them. Realistically they r getting Hage in this deal, not enough going to Detroit.

4.) 06 Jun 2026 20:48:39
Detroit gets a 1st and a high end prospect for a player that wants out…
Like the deal for them
Good post
Fair to all the teams involved.

5.) 06 Jun 2026 21:24:15
Of course you would believe find it fair 1st rd pick doesn’t mean ? if it actually is worth the same as a second ?.

6.) 06 Jun 2026 22:00:54
But it’s not
Otherwise they would call it a 2nd?
?

7.) 07 Jun 2026 16:32:38
Well, I would say you listed it actually in the order of who wins, who finishes 2nd and who ends up on the bottom in the returns on this trade.

Toronto gets a Established NHL 1 or 1A centre and two good prospects.

Montreal gets a Established NHL winger and a 2nd.

Detroit gets a late 1st pick, and a kid who could be a very good one but has not played a game in the NHL.

Yzerman is not going to let Larkin go and only take that.

01 Jun 2026 05:42:31
Tor keeps 1st overall.

Tor - Knies, Robertson.
Chi - 4th overall, 34th overall.

Then.

Tor - 4th overall, 60th overall, 69th overall.
Cal - 6th overall, 30th overall.

Tor takes Mckenna at 1, Smits at 6, Ruck twins at 30 and 34.

VanCreamsdyk

1.) 01 Jun 2026 13:32:23
Are you ok?

2.) 01 Jun 2026 14:00:01
The Ruck twins are a gamble. One is more NHL calibre that the other and truthfully, the chemistry they had at Junior is not the same calibre level the Sedins were at that age. So no guarantee it will translate to the NHL for the same chemistry. The other gamble is the one who is more NHL ready might not perform well with being separated from his brother if one had to be sent down.

I would stay away from them unless they do fall down the draft where you could get them with your existing 60th and 69th. Even that is taking a risk of missing out on some other diamonds in the rough.

3.) 01 Jun 2026 14:55:09
Suffering, the point of drafting the twins is because of their natural chemistry. I love the gamble and think it will pay off as they develop thru the AHL.

4.) 01 Jun 2026 16:42:42
Chemistry only goes so far at the pro level when you are both very average skaters. We need to get bigger and faster, not smaller and slower, which they are.

23 May 2026 15:19:23
Tor takes McKenna 1st overall
Tor takes Karmonov at 60 (7-foot-tall and can skate)

Tor - Nylander, Robertson, #69 (3rd rnd pick), #114 (4th rnd pick)
Sea - #7 overall, Catton

Seattle wants to get better now. Toronto gets 2 top prospects for 1 of the better goal scorers over the last 2 years. Toronto takes Smits at 7th overall (Early comparisons to Seider).

Tor - 2027 1st, Knies, Reilly
Min- Hughes

This one is a swing. I know poeple don't want to give up Knies but Hughes is a top 2 d-man in the league. Toronto sells Hughes on playing with Matthews and McKenna.

Now Toronto is going to need offence.

Tor - Carlo, Stolarz
Phi - Tippett

McKenna-Matthews-Cowan
Tippett-Catton-Domi
Joshua-Tavares-Free Agent
Groulx-Quillan-Tverberg

Hughes-Tanev
McCabe-OEL
Free Agent-Smits
Danford

Woll
Hilldeby

Eventually Smits works his way up to playing with Hughes. Free agents to look at could be trouba, Lauzon, Carlson on back end and Tarasenko, Perry, Jenner, Tolvanen, Laughton, malenstyn up front

Anyone not named thats on an NHL deal trade for picks.

VanCreamsdyk

1.) 23 May 2026 14:55:59
All good but Domi still appears.
And in the second line ?

2.) 23 May 2026 15:46:48
I like the idea. But we must get a solid D somehow in this draft. Trade/draft, don’t care. I’m big on Chase Reid. I’d trade down a few spots, get some compensation, then go for Chase. Personally don’t think Minny would move Hughes. Maybe Faber for a solid return like Matthews. I suggested earlier that Matthews, Carlo would be a good trade for Faber and Boldy.

3.) 23 May 2026 20:58:44
Well if Solid D is what you are looking for in theis draft Clarky, I think we can trade down and get who I think is the steal of the draft, plus additional pieces. We trade down to #4 to Chicago and get greedy (Afterall we are giving them the 1st overall) and ask for their 4th, Vanacker and Pridham. We then take Albert Smits.... this kid has played at every single level you could think of this year, Club Junior and Club Professional in Finland, World Junior for Latvia, Pro in Germany on Loan from his Club in Finland, Olympics for Latvia and the World Championships for Latvie. He doesn't care who he plays against or at what level. He Skates and hits at the same skill level of the players he plays againest or above in any of those Environments.

I love Verhoeff but Smits right now is the most pro ready of all the defensemen available and still has not hit his peak or even close to it. He got lost in the shuffle of the Fixation of the North American defensemen but he is certainly the real deal and it would not be a bad trade to purue especially with the Pridham and Vanacker in there as well. Chicago might bite even at that hight price, because McKenna with his Cousin Bedard (Who both really had not idea who they were because they are so far apart in the cousins family tree) would see tickets, and barring that Frondell with Stenberg would sell tickets as well.

4.) 24 May 2026 09:47:44
The problem you have is pretty clear: you move Nylander for a high pick and prospect but leave a huge hole in your lineup. I’m all for moving Willy if it’s a deal that makes sense.

5.) 24 May 2026 12:38:39
Forward group is not good... Domi on second line says it all.

Leafs claim zykov from Edmonton temporary help while Ennis and hymen are out

VanCreamsdyk

1.) 29 Dec 2018 03:56:10
Heck ya. Zykov really looks like he has potential. Real shame to see him getting bounced around so much. Leading scorer in the AHL last year, he never really got a chance at NHL level yet. Leafs could do a lot worse than pick him up. I’m surprised Edmonton waived him so soon considering how desperate they need depth and secondary scoring. He’ll likely be reclaimed by Carolina though.

11 Nov 2018 00:57:52
Anaheim isn't doing all that well and might be looking to rebuild sooner than later.

Tor- 2019 1st, Bracco, Gardiner
Ana- Manson

This is an overpayment by the leafs but we get the player that we need.

Then

Ari-Hjarmalsson
Tor- Timashov, Korshkov, 2020 2nd

Don't know Hjarmalsson's value but I feel like that could be close.

VanCreamsdyk

1.) 13 Nov 2018 14:06:47
Its not an overpayment because you've really only traded a latr first round pick and Bracco for one of their too D-Man. Gardiner doesn't count because they don't need and won't be able to afford him anyway.

10 Jun 2018 17:18:48
Hymen-matthews-nylander
Marleau-kadri-marner
Brown-free agent-kapanen
Grundstrum-aaltonen-johnsson

Reilly-trade
Dermott-zaitsev
Rosen-hainsey

Andersen
Sparks

Promote the first line of the Marlies to the 4th line and keep the chemistry together.

Promote sparks to backup so we don't lose him for nothing.

Need a center and a defenseman. Main trade bait would be Gardiner and our first. I think we should package those two pieces together for the best defensive defenseman available for that price.

For third line center sign Stastny. Nash would be a good second option. Would be great for Tavares but he would get paid much better elsewhere.

My question to you guys is what would 50 point Gardiner and our 1st bring back on the right side of Reilly

VanCreamsdyk

18 May 2018 03:17:03
Tor- 2018 2nd, 2019 2nd
LV- Miller

Tor- Nylander, 25th overall
Mon- 3rd overall, 2nd 2018

Tor- Signs John Carlson, Paul Stasny

Tor- Gardiner, McElhinney
Anyone for highest pick available

Hymen-Matthews-Kapenen
Marleau-Kadri-Marner
Johnsson-Stasny-Brown
Grundstrum-Lindholm-Bracco

Reilly-Carlson
Dermott-Miller
Borgman-Hainsey

Andersen
Sparks

Draft a good winger at 3rd overall that could hopefully fill Marleau's shoes when he leaves.

Both Sparks and Pickard would need to clear waivers to go to the AHL next year so whoever you don't pick as your backup should have his rights traded for another pick.

Does anyone think that the leafs could swing a trade to upgrade at center. In particular Bozak. What do you guys think Bozak and both 2nd round picks would fetch on the market.

There were more basis for trades. Also, I would think it would take an overpay for a team to give up a #1 overall pick.

I agree that this isn't a great dcore but it isn't terrible. Lybushkin played very well with reilly and if synergy is there between 2 players then it doesn't really matter what space in the lineup he's projected to be. If the leafs can swing tkachuk out of ottawa you do it he's unreal. There are some potential d targets in free agency such as zadorov but the leafs would have to move out more cap.

I honestly think the leafs are waiting on Berube to see if they can pry Rod out of Carolina. If Carolina gets swept for a 2nd straight year in the playoffs he could be available. If it's not Rod I put my money on Berube.

Leafs are at the 50 contract limit and would have to make a trade in order to free up a contract spot to claim him.
