So I’ve heard things about Murray being a potential target for the Maple Leafs. As a guy who really wants Gibson, Kuemper or Fleury, if we can’t get one of the three then I would take a look at Matt Murray. I feel like if he came here to Toronto where he’s from and somehow he finds a way to shine a play the way he did in Pittsburgh then I’d say that’s a steel. He hasn’t been great the past two-three season and that’s because of injury and teams that’s he’s one. The year before he joined the Senators, the Penguins were a decently good team with huge upside and had so much potential with two starting goalies with him and Jarry at the time. Then when he signs in Ottawa, not only did injury screw him over again but it was also the team that was in front of him as well. If he can get a fresh start with a team that’s on the verge of winning a cup I think he could be one of the pieces that this team is missing. So this is what a trade would look like in my opinion if Toronto and Ottawa were too do a trade. I’d do something like this.
Toronto acquires;
Murray
Zub
Watson
2023 3rd round pick
Ottawa acquires:
Mrazek
Holl
Anderson
2023 6th round pick.
1.) 12 Jun 2022 22:14:50
From what I read it isn’t a trade scenario dubas is interested in they want to see if Ottawa buys out Murray and then they will sign him as a ufa.
2.) 13 Jun 2022 00:01:28
Murray has a $6+ a year cap hit.
For far less we can keep Campbell.
Unless Ottawa buys him out he is not in Leafs plans.
It has been years since Murray was a NHL caliber, starting goalie.
Even in Ottawa he lost the starting job to Forsberg who Leafs could have had on waivers and the backup position to Gufstafson.
Why would he be a fit on a contender?
Unless he signs for $1 million I do not feel
Leafs should use a SPC on him!
3.) 13 Jun 2022 00:20:20
Why would you possibly want Murray? He just isn't worth that contract.

Toronto trades: Nick Robertson, Petr Mrazek, Alex Kerfoot and a first round pick
Anaheim trades: John Gibson, Max Comtois, Kevin Shattenkirk and a second.
Now I know y’all won’t agree with this trade or question why I added some guys in this deal so let me explain. John Gibson is apparently rumoured and linked to the Leafs and could be a guy that they acquire if. Campbell doesn’t sign according to Elliotte Friedman. Gibson in my opinion is still a top goalie in the league when healthy and when he’s on a good team. Obviously Anaheim hasn’t been the greatest for over three seasons but he still has a great GAA and Save %. He’s been on the Leafs radar for years and if Campbell doesn’t come back then Toronto shouldn’t pass up on the opportunity to get a goalie in John Gibson. With Comtois this could be a guy that could possibly replace a guy like Kase or Blackwell If they don’t resign with the Leafs. Comtois is a former 16 goal scorer that could come on a team with skill and make an impact maybe on the third or fourth line and could even bounce up to the first or second line if need. He’s 6’2 210-220 and he can hit. Max hasn’t got the opportunity to show what he’s made of in the league and I feel like Toronto could give him that opportunity. Finally with Shattenkirk, he’s another guy that has probably been rumoured to the Leafs for a while. Right handed shot player that we need on this team because maybe if Lyubushkin doesn’t sign which I hope he does, Shattenkirk can replace him and make our defence hard to play against. For a player that’s in his mid 30s he’s still averaging good numbers. So these are guys that I think Toronto should get. Sound off in the comments if you like this trade or no. But in the comments definitely add different players in the deal but keep Gibson in the deal.
1.) 24 May 2022 18:26:08
At this point Robertson is a B prospect. So you're expecting, a high second, a top 10 goalie, comtois and shatty (because that's how he plays defence) and a high second for: a B prospect, a cap dump, a rental and a late first?
You don't see an issue here?
2.) 24 May 2022 20:07:24
Toronto should trade Muzzin (no trade does not kick in until July 1st 2023)
Toronto trades Muzzin and Abreeze
To
Anaheim for Maxine Comtois and Max Jones.
3.) 24 May 2022 21:07:51
Actually, Muzzin has a full no trade until July 1st 2023. Then it becomes a partial no trade (10 team list starts July 2023).
4.) 24 May 2022 21:09:16
@Adam. Sorry, can't imagine Anaheim taking this deal.
5.) 25 May 2022 03:38:19
Love to have the two Max’s from Anaheim.
They both are young and would add physicality to a somewhat soft lineup.
17 Feb 2022 12:58:22
There is another defencemen I have been watching for a while and have been a target for us for a couple of years now. His name is Dylan DeMelo of the Winnipeg Jets. He’s 6’0 191 pounds and he a very physical defencemen that could fit in our lineup. Yea he may not be good offensively and doesn’t average many points per game or even points in a season and it’s hard because before this season he had scored in over two- three season. I know this isn’t my first choice but if I did this trade I would centre this trade around a guy like Andrew Copp. I’ve always been a fan of Copp and think he can fit the second or third line with the leafs. He’s got size on him which could really help the leafs out in the playoffs. Copp always has good production every year so he could be a player that could be apart of the future. So here’s how I would look at it and how I’d make a trade.
Jets receive: Ritchie, Holl or either Dermott, a 2023 third or fourth
Leafs receive: Copp, DeMelo and a third or fourth
I think this could be a trade that could workout for both sides and it could happen.
1.) 17 Feb 2022 14:39:27
I have also been a fan of Demelo since his days in Ottawa and was upset the Leafs did not trade for him. also a fan of Copp and actually came up with these 2 players as a possible deal just last night. however i dunno that we could re-sign Copp next year and i also think Jets would never take that deal from Leafs for DeMelo alone. he is signed to decent contract and for like 3 more years. we definately have to add to this deal.
2.) 17 Feb 2022 14:53:24
DeMelo has been discussed recently. Copp is one I have mentioned myself in the past. Like the targets, but man, you and I see values very differently. Copp plays top 6 minutes in Winnipeg. DeMelo has been getting more icetime since the coaching change, but is a really good 5 if not a complimentary 4.
So for what Winnipeg is offering, Toronto is offering an overpaid forward they have in the AHL (otherwise known as a cap dump), a struggling D-man or a D-man that cannot find a regular spot in the lineup and the Leafs will also get a draft pick this year in exchange for one next year.
You said this trade could help both teams, how does it help Winnipeg?
3.) 17 Feb 2022 17:51:08
When you buy a new car do you start the offer at 7$?
No chance either team accepts this.
4.) 19 Feb 2022 02:23:07
I’ve been advocating for DeMelo for years.
Leafs could have had him for nothing when San Jose put him on waivers.
Leafs could have acquired him when Ottawa made him available and Winnipeg picked him up for a 3rd round pick.
DeMelo would be a great addition and a big improvement over Holl on the 2nd pairing and PK.
03 Feb 2022 16:15:06
Leafs acquire: Chiarot, Lehkonen, Allen
Habs acquire: Ritchie. Holl, Mrazek.
The reason I add Mrazek is because if the leafs get Jake Allen, they will have less cap to pay for a backup goaltender and I think it could fit and I believe it could workout both ways.
1.) 03 Feb 2022 17:04:19
I don't quite understand why MTL would want to do this? We're sending them a 5-6 defender on most teams, a press box forward and a backup goalie that's done nothing of note so far.
2.) 03 Feb 2022 17:59:15
It is always great when guys that call others trade ideas as brutal or the worst he has ever seen, is the same guy that comes out with these beauties one after another. lol.
3.) 03 Feb 2022 21:50:14
He's just throwing them out there to see if they make sense in his next article lol.
01 Feb 2022 15:17:19
According to Elliotte Friedman the Leafs are still interested in Manson and Chiarot. I don’t care what any Leafs fans say the cheaper option is Chiarot. Manson would cost way too much and Anaheim is in a playoff spot so the Ducks wouldn’t want to get rid of him because they would need him for that playoff run. With Chiarot, he’s the best option. He won’t cost that much and these analysts can say that the Habs want a prospect, first round pick and a NHL roster player but I don’t think that’s what they’ll get. Dubas won’t want to waste a first round pick on a rental again so if you give a second or third then that might work but not a first round pick. Everyone can say the don’t like Chiarot but when we acquire him and he does what he is suppose to in the playoffs everyone will regret there words.
1.) 01 Feb 2022 19:20:19
Ask yourself something, why won't Chariot cost much? .
2.) 05 Feb 2022 21:30:33
Ben Chariot is garbage. Why do you think that the Montreal Canadiens as a whole are garbage? Any chance the Montreal Canadiens create the French Connection Line in trades for Claude Giroux, Jonathan Marchessault, and Johnny Gaudreau?

They only trade I have in mind is Jakob Chychrun and maybe someone else like a Lawson Crouse or Nick Bjugstad. If the Toronto Maple Leafs want to go all in this season and go and try to win the Stanley Cup, I think you go for the biggest fish in the market and that’s Jakob Chychrun. Crouse and Bjugstad one of the two players could be the fourth line right wing or third line right wing. Crouse and Bjugstad are the type of players that are playoff type of players that we need to get over that hump. Physical, wins puck battles in the corners, very defensive and being that grittt energy every night. Crouse has always been linked to Toronto in the past and I feel like now is the time to make it happen. Bjugstad is having an underrated season in Arizona. He’s doing well at the face off circle and is like a David Kampf and can really win those defensive draws. This is also a depth player that can make an impact right away. Now for the man of the hour… Jakob Chychrun. He’s everything that’s the Maple Leafs need. He’s offensive, defensive, physical, gritty, sees the game perfectly. And I feel like he’s be a great Jake Muzzin replacement if his career is over. Going the other way is in my opinion is Alex Kerfoot, Rasmus Sandin, Topi.
1.) 26 Feb 2023 17:28:03
What exactly are you offering for those three? I really hope it's at least three firsts, Knies, Topi and maybe more, along with cap dumps. That's the only way they may say yes.
2.) 26 Feb 2023 18:48:05
I don't see how Bjugstad is under the radar. We have been talking about him for awhile. I can't imagine the Leafs are getting Chychrun + Crouse or Bjugstad for Kerfoot, Sandin and Niemela. That's just not happening. It's not even close. imo.
08 Nov 2022 14:25:11
I think it’s time for the Leafs to call up and give Adam Gaudette the opportunity to play on the big roster. He got a hat trick yesterday and he’s been playing so well with the Marlies that I think it’s time for him to get the chance to play. He’d be good on that fourth or third line or even second line. He’s such a talented forward and has all the skills the leafs love to have in there lineup. I’d love for him to get the chance to be one the main roster and showcase his skills and prove why he should stay the for the foreseeable future.
1.) 08 Nov 2022 21:58:55
And who might you be sitting?
2.) 09 Nov 2022 04:37:58
He got his first career hat trick, in the AHl, in his late 20s, time for Tanner to proclaim him a top 6 forward lol.
3.) 09 Nov 2022 13:49:08
If we are going by who has played well in the A, shouldn't it be Anderson? I mean the guy is over a point per game this year and had 42pts in 56 games last season. Gaudette has had his chance in the NHL and he can't stick on a team.
08 Oct 2022 16:45:46
For me as a Leafs fan right now, my number one target is Jakob Chychrun. This is a player that has been in the Leafs radar for years and now is your chance to acquire him. With this situation of Jakob Chychrun be traded and Toronto potentially one of the landing spots, it reminds me of when the Leafs always had interest in Dougie Hamilton.
1.) 09 Oct 2022 04:32:55
If course it is Tanner.
You don't know why you need him, you Kaur saw the media say you need another puck moving LHD, for absolutely no reason and ran with it.
2.) 10 Oct 2022 01:25:36
We need severson more than chycryn no need for a lhd.
04 Oct 2022 15:10:37
This is how I see the lineup starting in the season. Engvall and Tavares will be in this list so I’m just adding him if they are available.
Bunting-Matthews-Marner
Kerfoot-Tavares-Nylander
Engvall-Kampf-Jarnkrok
Aston-Reese-Gaudette-Aube-Kubel
Rielly-Brodie
Muzzin-Holl
Giordano-Sandin
Murray
Samsonov
Now take out Tavares and Engvall and this is what I see the lineup looking like
Bunting-Matthews-Marner
Robertson-Kerfoot-Nylander
Malgin-Kampf-Jarnkrok
Aston-Reese-Gaudette-Aube-Kubel
Rielly-Brodie
Muzzin-Holl
Giordano-Sandin
Murray
Samsonov
I do expect there to be moves before the season starts like Liljegren on LTIR and clearing cap to sign ZAK and just make a trade to get to where the cap needs to be.
1.) 05 Oct 2022 20:03:39
K but who moves?
2.) 07 Oct 2022 17:05:09
Kerfoot or Holl need to be moved. It doesn't work once LTIR is done.
22 Sep 2022 19:01:31
In my eyes I’m real lying liking the signing of Nicolas Aube-Kubel. I know the preseason and the regular season hasn’t started yet but I think he’s on of the more underrated signings that really no one has talked about. If he makes the team and plays in a shutdown role on a line with Zach Aston-Reese and Adam Gaudette, then I think it’s a great signing. I think that fourth line what I just said I see as the opening night fourth line and I do believe that those three will be the best fourth line in the league. Aube-Kubel is a solid depth forward that is very good defensively and when you need him to be that grinder type of player, he can do that. Adam Gaudette is a guy I wanted when Chicago and Ottawa put him on waivers last season. He’s very fast, skilled and can be a guy that’s hard to play against. Lastly Zach Aston-Reese. This is a guy I wanted from the start of free agency. I do see him signing a deal with us after his PTO if he makes the team. Very physical, can win puck battles in the corner and just a very great forward to have so I’m looking forward to these three guys in the lineup.

Dumbest thing I think you’ve said.
06 Feb 2022 22:28:09
I love the Montreal trade. The only thing that I would add in that deal is adding Chiarot and taking out Petry.
06 Feb 2022 22:26:06
I think this wouldn’t happen because of how much cap space is going to be taken up but those are really good options but like I said it would love to have them but it’s going to cost a lot of money coming the other way and players that Dubas won’t want to give up.
05 Feb 2022 00:37:58
Yea the respect you but not me when they fire the first shot.
04 Feb 2022 22:37:34
RLF you commented saying I fire the first shot. Your the one that fires the first shot. Every article I say you give me negative feedback everytime.
