Is Leivo and a 2018 1st too much for Max Domi?
He's gritty, controllable and a C option. He would Domi! Domi! Domi!! ...nate! It would be too perfect to have another Domi on this team!

That's crazy I'm not a fan of Domi but trading Leivo for Domi straight up is very fair. But Leafs probably have zero interest in Domi
His father is still a walking ego maniac so I never see the apple falling far from the tree. I'm sure Phoenix is already fed up with max Domi look at his falling produckibn numbers. If Phoenix moved Duclair I see Domi being moved next.

Although I have never a Leivo fan. And so I will continue. He shouldn’t be on this team cause the coach doesn’t like him.

Are all eligible to join Marlies if leafs season ends early. This spring we see how we stack up against a very good Boston team and if we slide past Boston Tampa offer a further test.

Leafs have money to add a few more pieces that will serve us better going forward. Then you will always have the core getting better each year so next season will be far more excitibg.

Ok Domi is worth more than Leivo but I really don't like Domi very much. The Leafs are not a match for Domi. Just some Leafs fans remember Ty and they liked him . This is not a era where Ty could have played 1000 games. We will see Phoenix plans for Domi this summer. I'm interested to see what he signs for.

Domi has cement hands, just like his old man. I definitely would not be giving up a first for him. Arizona would leap all over that opportunity to re-draft for Domi’s position and hope they get it right.
Leivo straight up is probably enough. If Arizona wants more, we throw in a 3rd. I wouldn’t offer more than that.

I wouldn't even think twice on making this trade. Arizona would want way more. People talk about his ego and stuff but he brings sooo much to a team. He's an elite passer, his compete level is top notch and the kid stands up for his team. We could shelter him as a 3C and he'd be perfect for that role.

This is going to be a rough week for Leafs. I felt they were in the game until that third goal. Now it looks like kadri will. be suspended.
Marner took a elbow to the head then Domi hits Wiggles of all people. Game two is essential for Toronto to win. Just watch JVR this series I really doubt he is going to show up.
All JVR offers is to stand in front of net and the majority of guys here want to resign him. Bozak is a slowing aging center and Komarov very one dimebtioal with zero offence.
If I'm watching the Leafs season come to a grinding halt this is going to be painful.

Somehow I caught the American feed of Leaf game Pierre McGuire said that he felt Dermott was going to be a star player in NHL. That was music to my ears. If Dermott can eventually become your top pairing left guy it changes everything for Toronto .

I truly beleive Holl make the team next year. With his size all he needs to do is be better than Carrick which he probably already is.
Liljegren has blue chip written all over him it will just a little longer for him to get here. So soon our right handed defensive shortage will be a righthanded defencemen full lineup.

You're calling domi overrated because of his numbers. I guarantee you don't actually watch him play mackin. He's playing on a rubbish team with rubbish players. He's bring a lot to this team, and if Bracco pans out, domi would still bring more to a team. Bracco has no compete level, he doesn't even work out much. He's a very very good passer but all he does is play for the points. He doesn't care about playing defence.

How are you going to compare duclair to domi? You're literally basing all our opinions off hockeydb. Watch some hockey and research players before you acting like you know everything about them. So you think ekman larsson is just a 42 point guy? He'd be in Norris candidate talks if he played on a legit contending team. Stats mean nothing on bad teams.

If all we had to offer was Leivo and a third then it’s a no brainer. But I think you are off on the price. And stone hands? I think that is way off. He can scrap like his dad did, I’ll give you that. But he can score, and score big goals.
Domi is controllable, we need a center, we need grit. Domi brings both.

It was my original post David. I feel that would be the price. Leivo is a throw in. He won’t be the next JVR. We need more than another JVR. His goal production was great in the regular season but his defensive game is crap.
I liked what you said about what can happen if we bow out early, but you can’t tell me that there is anyone on the farm that could fulfill what Domi would bring in toughness and talent with a salary that would be favourable.

Domi certainly does suck, he’s sure to improve his game. His stats might not reflect this playing for the yotes. He’s very similar to Brown in a lot of ways. He’s just misused and on one of the worst teams in the league.
Regardless, this is an overpayment. I agree Leivo and 3rd is all he’s worth without knowing how he developes or knowing how he’s mesh playing with more talented line mates.

jersey can use some scoring (Leivo) and both Corrado and Leivo need a new environment, leafs can use a new D prospect and you know. kovulchik (whatever that turns into)

Santini is an average prospect. I would guess that Lou wants nothing to do with Kovulchuk at this point.
Kovulchuk or any other player that broke contract should not ever be allowed into the NHL again. Kovulchuk had everything and threw it away. Too bad for him.
I'd rather trade Leivo and Corrado for picks.

Antoinne Bibeau and Nolan Vessey traded to Boston for Malcolm Subban. Boston increases their chance of signing big brother Vessey and the buds get a quality young goalie they can mold as he back up Anderson.

IMO, Polak has earned a contract.
He is a big, mean, no bull D that plays on the edge. There are comparisons but most are signed and there is value for his type of service if there is any regression next year.
I think he could be had for a hometown bargain if he got back a 2-3 year deal.

I like Polak as a 5-6. He doesn't give the puck up like Gardiner or Hunwick, skates well for his size and is tough to get off the puck. Can be useful on PK as long as it's not with Hunwick.
2 yr for 4 mill is probably the most I'd be willing to pay.

I've read rumours about how Lou and the the management team are still working the phones, so maybe there is a pending deal that can help for this year without leveraging the future.
Maybe it's time to start focusing on end of year deals instead of deadline blockbusters.
Expansion draft troubled teams post playoffs are going to be big sellers. By then Leipsic and Kapanen will be back on the Marlie bench and will either be trade bait or potential fillers for those traded from the current roster.
Either way I'm happy that I'm focusing on the playoff race instead of the last place race.

Michalek is killing that line; he's all over the place except where he needs to be.
Kadri is the fastest on the line (but still not that fast-should watch what Marner does) and while Leo is slower he hits and digs pucks out of the corner and goes to the net for cheap goals. Michalek is too old and slow and is never in position.
Dump him (Michalek) and bring up one of the kids(maybe Leipsic) and you will see speed added to the line opening up Kadri to move better.

Franson is big and slow. Just because you’re a right handed shot doesn’t mean you’re NHL worthy. There’s a reason why he hasn’t been signed.
Gardiner has way more offensive upside than Franson ever had.
