Personally I don't think the Leafs need to uograde their D right now. I would much rather see the return for JvR at deadline and acquire picks. Then use those picks and the overstocked cupboards of prospects to upgrade if they feel the need.
But, with Dermott, Nielsen, Liljegren, Rasanen, Rosen, Borgman, even Greenway one could say with time in addition to Rielly, Gardiner and Zaitsev the Leafs already have their D.
Although with Liljgren he will need a stay at home partner, Rielly nor Gardiner can play with him. He will need a Hainsey type partner. He rushes a lot and although he does have the foot speed to get back, he will need a reliable smart experienced partner.

Strongly agree with you Dbone JVR for picks might be the best option. If Toronto is to trade Bozak as well I like to see a pick coming back as well. The Leafs have seemed to address their defence through the draft for the future, moving forward imo the Leafs should continue to build through the draft maybe concentrating at center.

I agree dbone as well the defence is perfect now in what is coming 2018-19 and let's keep adding draft picks keep the cubords full bozak jvr and komarov. Don't finish this season with leafs trade them all 4 picks.

I have proposed a few times int he past JVR for picks for that very reason, I will some picks/ prospect ideas again.
