I highly doubt Carolna bites one your first propasal. They want offence if they do trade one of their defenceman and I don't think Brown fits the bill. I also don't see them taking Zaitsev's 4.5 million when they have Aho and Williams to re-sign. Faulk will need an extension soon to if they don't move him.
Your second proposal is much closer, but last I heard Philly wanted a 1st+prospect for Simmonds. For that reason I don't think that deal gets done.
The final trade is a joke from the leafs perspective. We are giving up two of our top prospects is Bracco and Rosen for a couple of depth players making to much money. No way Dubas does that, not a chance.

This is a much better trade proposal for Carlson than the one floated earlier. In this situation it’s an exchange of UFA rental players, with each team adding a needed piece to help them go deeper in the playoffs, and nobody is mortgaging the future to do so. I don’t know if Washington would make this trade, but if I were the Leafs and this opportunity presented itself, I would pull the trigger.
