To Tor:

Faksa, Hakanpaa

To Dal:

Kampf, Liljegren, Abruzzese

Sign Blandisi (who is already on the Marlies) to a league min contract to be the 4th line center.

I’m pretty sure Dallas would hang up

Plus again you are trading Norris winner Liljegren
No way Mackin will allow that.

2.) 11 Dec 2023 05:48:23
@MPH how can Dallas say no? Lilly puts Makar to shame. Might be able to trade Lilly for Mcjesus.

To Tor: Hakanpaa, Faksa

To Dal: Liljegren, Kampf

I don't think either team has too add anything.

Sign Blandisi (who is on the Marlies) to a league minimum contract and he can set in as your 4th line center.

I can nort see Dallas trading Faksa for Kampf. (
Blandisi is not a 4th line type center.

Not sure I will ever understand the rush to trade Liljegren.
He is only 24 and has 151 games of NHL experience.
It is generally conceded in most hockey circles that a young defenseman needs 250 - 300 games of experience before he can be accurately assessed.
That is still 1 1/ 2 - 2 years away for Liljegren.
Yet people want to trade him for 34 year old Tanev or 31 year old (32 in March) Hakanpaa, or 33 year old David Savard or any one of a number of other aging, past their prime defensemen?

But but you are trading the Norris trophy winner Timmy Lilljegren
Oh Mackin won’t be happy with your post!

Just throwing this one out there for fun. Since the San Jose Sharks are most likely the leagues worst team this year and probably looking for some younger players along with a few who need a change of scenery I would suggest the following trade.

To the Sharks:

Samsonov, Lilygren (since the team doesn't come to his aid and probably doesn't like him), Kampf, Robertson, Voit, Hirvonen, Peksa or Petruzzelli and a draft pick between 4th - 7th.

To the Leafs:

Blackwood, Kunin, Burroughs and Benning.

As I said just throwing this one out there for fun. Thoughts?

After yesterday's game I think it time for 2 things. The first thing is too fire Keefe, the players aren't buying what he is trying to sell them and therefore it is time for a new voice behind the bench.

The second thing that needs to happen is the new coach must send Marner and Matthews to the press box for a couple of games, with Klingberg on the LiTR I believe they could bring up Steeves and sign Bellows to a league minimum contract and bring him up as well. The message needs to be sent loud and clear that if you don't give a maximum effort game in and game out then you can sit in the press box.

It's pretty sad that Reaves seemed to have a better game than M&M (yes I know Reaves didn't get the same minutes that those two did) but with the giveaways that Marner dished out yesterday I was surprised that he wasn't nailed to the bench in the 3rd.

Mathews can stay, Marner can be sent to Rob dias Island with Klingberg. He's fallen apart.

I happened to catch the Kyper & Bourne show. i know not everyone is a fan but they said a few things after Hawk game that kinda made sense as to why the top line is not working. we have kinda mentioned it here in chat and dunno how to fix it cause we don't wanna mess with the second line. but one point they brough up was Marner is a passer and Matthews a shooter. and cause they are such good friends. it kinda leaves the third guy "out" who in this case is Knies who is different from both of them. you wou almost need another passer to feed Matthews cause 3rd guy does not get to play.

They also pointed out that Knies might be having trouble keeping up with them right now and that he seems to stay on the ice for a little longer even after they have both gone off. has anybody else noticed this and what can be done? is there another good passer out there that can be acquired for cheap?

Also. is it time to think about upgrading the net. thinkin Saros myself.

3.) 26 Nov 2023 11:14:59
I think knies has been the best of that line he keeps his game simple and has been putting the puck in last night every time Matthews and marner stepped on the ice they killed the leafs momentum.

4.) 26 Nov 2023 13:20:44
@Loxley good point. Seems like Hyman is the only one that ever actually fit in well with the top 6. They didn't like Bunting's agitator style, Bert couldn't keep up, and now Knies seems like the only one with an effort.

Marner fell off a cliff this year. He really can't drive a line without a dedicated corner guy, digging out pucks.

With the injury that Larkin sustained against Ottawa yesterday I doubt the Wings will do much going forward. If Larkin is out long term they are done.

Yes Tolvanen shoots left but he plays right wing and has for quite awhile.

I like the targets.

How about a little bigger trade.

To Sea: Nylander, Lilygren, Robertson and Kampf.

To Tor: McCann, Larsson, Borgen and Tolvenen.

It is well over due to fire Keefe. He relies on his top guys way to much even if they are playing without any heart. The other night he should have nailed Marner and Matthews to the bench in the 3rd and go with the 3rd line which was playing very well.

Dubas (who I am no fan of at all) went out last year at the trade deadline and got some decent pieces especially O'Reilly.

Keefe banished him to the 3rd line when after a game or 2 he didn't like him at center on the 2nd line.

Keefe has no patience (kept relying on Holl and Kerfoot) and doesn't know how to put the pieces together properly. As far as I can see he has lost the room months ago, so fire him and let Boucher take the reins or get Gallant.

The star players need to be held accountable which they are not under Keefe, send Marner and/ or Matthews to the press box for a couple of games and bag skate those 2 in practice to send a message to them.

Not a horrible player to target but even with 1 mil retained he is still signed for the next 4 years and it takes up the cap savings that the Leafs have so it will be hard to carry an extra forward and defenceman.

I would put forward a trade proposal of Kampf, Abruzzese and Petruzzelli or Peksa and have the Ducks retain 1 mil of Strome's contract.
