He's probably only worth that currently but he has much more potential, so there's no way they trade him for a second. It would have to be plus a roster player who's currently better and a prospect. I think that would get it done.

Would be worth quite a bit.
Especially with a salary of 2mil
If leafs pay his bonus.

The 11 mil cap hit is horrendous.
Kyrou is not being traded. I just don't see marner a fit on this team. Blues a re a physical team and he just doesn't have that.
Also if blues trade low on tarasenko it will be to move salary out so they can invest in the rfas resign Schwartz and hoffman. If you want tarasenko think futures.
It's not blues responsibility to help your team with cap issues.

@Russiancolt I don't think physical has anything to do with it. I was watching Taylor Hall play a (semi) physical game in Boston. Marner may do the same in St. Louis. it's amazing what strong leadership can do to a group of guys.

Why not Sergei Federov as coach
He is a championship winning GM and Coach. Has won everything possible in the NHL and is highly respected across the league.
Is a perfect coach for a player like Matthews.
Head Coach: Federov
Assistants:
Paul Coffey - Defensive guru. Edmonton played exponentially better whenever he was on their bench.
Ralph Kruger - head coaching experience, international experience, has record on young teams, has experience in sports world on a global level. Also panelist on the Int Monetary Fund. Reputation as a fantastic communicator.

Why would buffalo trade their best player. For 1 year of riley.
If they trade eichel its to rebuild.
Also huge overpaymemt, considering he's injured
2 firsts and 2 seconds too much.
Maybe 1 each, tops.
Trading arguably our best D and future is tough for eichel.
