Not a trade I would like to see but one that I can see Dubas making. Kerfoot would get picked in the expansion draft and Hyman+Freddy walk.


Dubas then fills the entire bottom 6 with league minimum.

Sandin plays PP1 as he did in the playoffs.

Dubas (aka Tanner) seem to believe that nothing matters other than having elite players.

A few insiders say they believe Dubas will make a big move. What could be bigger?

Why would buffalo trade their best player. For 1 year of riley.
If they trade eichel its to rebuild.
Also huge overpaymemt, considering he's injured
2 firsts and 2 seconds too much.
Maybe 1 each, tops.

Trading arguably our best D and future is tough for eichel.

Horrible. Nobody wants the clown Jack Eichel. Jack Eichel belongs in a circus, not in the NHL.

Not disagreeing. This is the kind of move I expect though.

Dubas said he isn't moving the core 4 and Rielly isn't needed on the PP. Rielly also isn't a Dubas guy. If he was he gets captain.

Dubas tried gritty this year. He will revert to all skill, top heavy, now. That's his vision of winning.

Probably is an overpay but to be honest I have no comparables for this one. Eichel is a 40/ 100 top line centre. He's also coming off a couple down years and has some health concerns. Who knows what teams like the Rangers may pay?

@Nylander what's your issue with Eichel? He really isn't all that bad. He's tired of losing, he's tired of a horrible managed team, he's tired of never seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Mcdavid is in the same spot except his team is better managed now.

Also, Rielly is more there for cap purposes. He traded for Muzzin. He likes Brodie. He isn't moving the core 4. Nothing else to move.

Dubas can't just run this back as is. He knows he needs to do something.

If Dubas chases another $10M player, he should be fired for even thinking it before he does something that would be stupid.

I think this could be Dubas and Shannahan's last year in TO if the Leafs have another deflating 1st rd playoff in 2022?

On a side note, the Rangers, in my opinion, would love to have a Marner on their team the return? . I like Gallant going to the Rangers; good move.
