They aren’t trading Marner. If you watch the leafs he’s the best player on the ice.

Leafs---trade Kapanen, Johansson , Zaitsev and a lower draft pick
Slavin has the potential to be a true #1 defenceman. This would future problems for years. Comments/Suggestion

Strange trade between Buffalo and Toronto
--Buffalo trades Housley and Dahlin (sp)
--Toronto sents Babcock while retaining 3/4 of his salary. The owner wanted Babcock to coach in Buffalo when Babcock signed with the leafs.
Know this is strange, but they are all just contracts

Welcome back to the forum. You haven’t been around for a while. I figured you ghosted the site. I love the concept. And I believe you are correct. Trading coaches can probably be done. If we have to provide compensation in the way of picks for “poaching†Lou and Babcock, then it tells me that all these personnel are interchangeable. They are all just contracts. You said it best.
Is Housley a better coach than Babcock though? That’s debateable. Babcock has a cup and a gold. I don’t think Housley has ever been so successful. I could be wrong, and if I am, I expect someone will correct me. Lol.

I agree with what you are saying but my real goal is the defenseman . Housley can go to Leafs "magic island". lol Babcock is a better coach but there some very good coaches available this years. Leaf's Marlie coach, Quenville for example. If this did happen it would give the "Talking Heads" something to talk about.

You know, I was so focused on the coaches that I completely forgot you slipped Dahlin in. Lol. Sahlin is probably worth more than Babcock. A kid like that, it doesn’t matter who the coach is, he’s going to perform. I would gladly trade Babcock for Dahlin.
Quenneville replaces Babcock. Sure, why not? He’s a proven winner and could probably lead this monster truck of a team to the cup. Agreed.

Col. Ottawa's first round pick and Col.'s second round pick to Toronto
Leafs. Nylander goes to Col.
Increases cap space, and 2 good prospects, the first round pick could the number one overall in next years draft

I love the thought of going after that 1st of Ottawa’s. Nylander is worth more than this though. Kessel (twice), O’Reilly, Schenn, Duchene, all these trades suggest Nylander is worth 2x1st + roster player.
Wonder what we are all going to talk about after Nylander I say either traded or signed?

If we could pull Ottawa's first from Colorado, and then making a trade with our own first for Duchene probably putting Ottawa in the bottom 5 in the league, I would be all for it.
Nylander, 4th, Neilson for Ottawa's first
leafs 1st, 2020 2nd (first if Duchene re-signs), Timashov, Marincin for Duchene
Without having to deal with the Nylander contract, the leafs may actually be able to re-sign Duchene as well.

Solves leafs money problems, they get a talented player will grit.
Leafs may have to add another player.
There could be others players to target in similar situations.

Oldtimer. I love it. You are sneaky boy. Yes, you really are. And I understand how badly you want Ottawa to win a trade. But taking the pick from Ottawa’s side and putting it on Toronto’s side doesn’t make this trade a clear cut winner for Ottawa. Tkachuk is outstanding. He really is. Ottawa would love to have Nylander on the team. But not at having to give up young Tkachuk as the price to get him.
Keep trying my friend. Stay patient. The right opportunity will come. Good things come to those who wait.

think they should try for Slavin---he is going to be a true #1 defensemen . I would be consider trading Kapenan, Johansson, Zaitsev and a 3-to a 7th draft round pick.

@ Leafs GM. Marner captain. reasons (I have no inside info) he has been a leader at every level, he appears to be inclusive with all on the team, work ethic both on an off the ice, upbeat personality and his wellness to lead on the ice.
Note: listened to a very good podcast. They talk about many things concerning the leafs overall. Dubas/ Babcock relationship, player development, leafs development system, leaf prospects, Babcock/ Keith. Who maybe coaches next year. etc

Like the trade, N. J. will not do it. I see Bracco as a future winger for Matthews. He is a passer/ setup type player.
