I believe if you don't watch up to 95% of all leafs game, minute to minute, your a follower of Toronto media which are often wrong in all aspects.
I said this earlier this year and the season before leafs won't win there defence, the catch is there TOP defence. Reilly Gardner Zaitsev.
Gardner and Zaitsev won't be back.
Morgan Reilly a guy I was estatic about when we drafted. Not anymore. I find myself yelling at him at the tv to play defence. The guy is so focus on playing offence and wanting to be a Erik Karlsson... he turns the puck over way to often, bad rushes, too lazy to get back and play defence, his shots are usually hide and wide. Etc. I said he would cost us in the playoffs, make bad plays which ends up in the back of our net.
I wanted Slavin and parayko 2 years ago. Also players like orielly and mark stone. All these players are not secrets anymore. Look at St. Louis they don't have defence getting 80 points a season. They are DEFENCE.
Our probably isn't our bottom 3 D that make $1million and play 10 minutes.

Lol idk if you’ve noticed but I think everyone is the hockey world knows that are defence is bad but to blame Reilly is just stupid by far one of the best defencemen in leafs history does he make mistakes from time to time but every dman in the league does.

I will add you have to play hockey and understand the defence-man position and have played defence. I say put Reilly as a forward if he wants to play like one. We need defence to win . We have enough offence.

Marincin he played a tad better last year, but we can't play him in the playoffs.
Good signings on kapenen and johonson, can't believe the deals, $3m plus. The two of them are great.
Will wait for July 1st to see what happens.
Marner is by far the best and most consistent player, for all you wanna bees, look at his stats. Although I don't care about stats. Have 2 eyeballs to judge...
We have a wicked forwards but not enough grit. Let's try marchement and see if he can solve our toughness. My personal favourite is reeves but for his cap hit it, won't happen. I would take reeves over Connor brown any day. Still if they can get perry for a million would be good.
Still in saying all of this we will not win unless we have defence that can play defence. I'm hoping to see a lot of the Marlies which won't happen because they will play good and we will have to pay in under 3 years. I think we have a few years to contend so regardless I would play them.
Cody Ceci, I'll take him, hopefully for 1.5 million.
Rielly needs to play defence this year, if not we will never win. Be back in year to say I told you so. Oh wait look at this past season. Who played the most ? And it's not one bit his fault because he skates fast and gets phantom points bu playing the most. Reason why he doesn't play penalty kill and last 2 minutes when we are up.

They aren’t trading Marner. If you watch the leafs he’s the best player on the ice.

Reilly and Barrie are both brutal at defence, they get hemmed into their own end. Watch out.

Spezza 4th line centre, will be good. This Kerfoot kid could be a steal. He looks like johonson, nose for the net and dirty areas where oya nylander won't go and most of the leafs.
All in all Dubas has got my attention.
