Blockbuster?

Tor: Nylander Bracco 2nd 2020

Njd: hall

So hall has two more years he didn't play this year due to injury but had a great season the year before I think hall is in a similar position as Tavares was before coming to Toronto he's 27 and to be honest New Jersey isn't close to being a contender so the leafs give up two good young player and a good pick I think it's fair btw here's the lineup with hall

Hyman Tavares Marner
Hall Matthews kapanen
Johnsson kadri Moore
Marleau Gauthier brown

Like the trade, N. J. will not do it. I see Bracco as a future winger for Matthews. He is a passer/ setup type player.

Leafs pass. Hall has one year left, next year, and the. He will be free agent. Cost of re-signing him will be too much for Toronto. Nylander is a long term asset and we should retain him for now unless we are getting a young, cost controlled RHD in return.

Leafs GM we most certainly can afford him if we move Nylander this year and then we lose marleaus cap hit same with hortons contract.

Although, I like it, Hall would essentially be a rental as I think he'll want to get paid a lot! Yes Nylander is around $7M, but Hall will likely cost more than Marner.

I like Hall too. And he is for sure an upgrade over Nylander. If Leafs can afford this trade and Jersey is foolish enough to make it, the. leafs should jump on it.

Cost is just such a question mark here though. If Hall wins another trophy next year, he will be more than $10M for sure. Add that to Tavares, Marner, Matthews, and in three years, Rielly, and we would have more than $50M invested in just those five guys alone. Half the cap on less than half dozen guys.

We can “afford” Hall. But for the same price, I’d rather be pursuing a real top notch high end Norris caliber RHD.

At any rate, it’s best to wait and see how Hall performs next year after such a serious injury this year. I feel bad for him. I really do. He finally gets his chance in Jersey, knocks it out of the park homerun type style, then immediately suffers a major set back. Hopefully he recovers and can get back to condition he was in prior to the injury. Because I really hate seeing guys careers get derailed by injury. Especially when they are in their prime (Anyone remember Cam Neely? ) .
