This could be the answer for the leafs. obviously marner is not a playoff player. Flyers get the winger they always wanted and the Leafs get one of the best two way centers in the league along with a young and bright defenseman.
I honestly don't think Philly will say yes as they are giving up a lot, but a man can dream.

This trade could be a good idea for many reasons. Nashville is having a terrible year and it is rumored that they are looking to sell. Toronto is having a great year and have been rumoured to be looking for a winger. Forsberg would fot perfectly into that top six as you now have strong wingers on both sides of the ice. However, I do not think that this would be enough for the predators, it would be one hell of a trade.

It makes sense for the leafs to trade kappy. He is another skilled forward which the leafs already have enough of. Why not bring kassain or khaira to replace him. It adds grit to the roster. Nurse is the big piece. A big shutdown defensemen who has a physical mentality. Kapanen is a foward the oilers could really use.

Remove Liljegren and Kassian/ Khaira and make it a Kapanen+ for Nurse deal slightly tweaked and is a better fit.
Nurse is LHD and signed past next year. That means we protect Reilly, Nurse, Dermott and expose Holl, which I’m fine with. We move Dermott to RHD, which works good. That gives us
Reilly/ Dermott
Nurse/ Holl
Sandin/ Liljegren
* Marincin
Something to that effect.

If Muzzin resigns you trade Nurse. Keep Dermott as our long term home grown asset. As I keep saying though, unless the player exposed is worth more to Ron Francis than a second you can just send them a second/ prospect for "future considerations"

I believe that this trade is a good trade for both teams. Now I know that Nashville just got a new coach and they can still make a push, but if that fails to happen, this would be a pretty nice deadline deal for both teams. Leafs get Ellis who is a very stable and reliable defensive who also has a right handed shot. For some who call him small, that is why watson is in the deal. Watson is that grit the leafs desperately need and he would be a nice depth piece on the top 9.
For Nashville, ceci is more a throwaway player for Toronto. Maybe they can retain money. Bracco is a guy who I believe will never get a legit chance on the leafs roster due to the wing depth they already have. Bracco could be a nice surprise playermaker for Nashville as his primary trait is passing. Lilegren is the main replacement for Ellis on Nashville's end. Lilegren has potential to be a good defensivemen in the nhl. It also adds a good offensive dman who can play on the power play.

I don't think Nashville does this. I may be wrong but I'm almost certain they still believe they can win something.

I’m positive Nashville doesn’t do this. I may be wrong, but I think Nashville values Ellis a lot more than wheat is on offer here.

I see this as a fair deal as Edmonton gets some good depth pieces while saving a ton of cap. Toronto get some mediocre guys who can crack the lineup every now and then.

I don’t think we can do this without sending salary their way. Too bad. Would be nice if we could do this. Maybe we ca. But up every LTIR contract in the league and apply it to the cap? Is that allowed? Theoretically it sounds possible.

that la trade is one of the worst I've seen on this site. dispite nylander possibly having a bounce back year the kings would never give up toffoli or possibly a 1st for him.
