Wishful thinking. Yes, Spezza has played better in a number of recent games but Spezza doesn't land Zadorov. Try Kapenen and Rasanen for Zadorov and maybe Sakic listens.

Zadorov is RFA still. Not UFA. Huge difference when it comes to assessing value.
Also, Kadri was a center. So they need a center back, not a winger. How about Kerfoot for Zadorov? Now does that make any better sense? Maybe for filling Colorado’s need for a center. And they are familiar with him. Leafs can do it because we have Gauthier, Spezza, Engvall who can all play center. And if worse comes to worse, we throw Nylander in and see what he can do. I thought he did pretty well covering at center whenever we needed him.

I thought Zadorov was a UFA just had to check that one. Yes this is definitely not enough for an RFA. It's more likely the conversation starts with Kappy/ Kerfoot/ Johnson and goes from there in that case. .
Do any of us want Dubas negotiating with another RFA though? Lol.

Throw in Kassian and it’s a deal. Lol. We all know Kassian isn’t going anywhere. Remove Dermott and a deal based around Kapanen for Nurse sounds like something that would interest both teams. It’s well known Edmonton is still looking for a speedy RW, and Kapanen fits that description very well. One of the few in the league that can keep up with McDavid. Edmonton has quite a few good defensemen already, and having Nurse and Larsson on the same team seems a bit redundant. They could be willing to part with a defenseman for help up front so it’s not just a two man operation.

Marner is using matthews as his leverage. Colombus might think once you take that leverage away he might have to settle whatever descent offer they offer within reason
Defencemen are becoming replacable. Unfortunately this is what's going on. Teach anyone structured D and if they comprehend it they will succeed regardless of the name on the back.

I think CBJ would be interested in getting Marner for a variety of reasons. Making him deal with torts would also make my day lol saying "a pick" is probably best as there would be some negotiation and I'm not sure how CBJ sees Jones fitting in when they have D already. Overall I would say they may not want Lili and maybe more of a Bracco or Marchment type. What's with the Jones trades today? Lol.

I would agree woth that assessment if Theodore. If Leafs could get him on the team would be a very good acquisition. Not sure if Vegas is looking to move defensemen at te moment, but for a player of Nylander’s capabilities, they would have to seriously consider it.

This team has earned the right to stay together. They are balanced and fast. Could they improve? Yes for sure on the backend. Trade Polak and Hunwick for picks and extend JVR. Pick up a Dman in free agency if possible and bring up Neilson. Shut this site down until next year:)

It's not the fact that we all think he is the next Gretzky or something like that. It's the fact that went through a lot to end up with this position, on top of that we had to win the lottery. So without a can't turn it down proposal the pick will not move. Of course Arizona will never give up their entire team for Matthews but would you take back a couple top 6 or top 9 guys for a potential franchise centre? Again, no, it needs to blow your socks off or you wouldn't do it. So it's not so much over valuing Matthews, it's more or less if you want to pry what they went through hell for away, it will take more then you're willing to give. That's just the way it is. I'm not sure what post you're talking about though because I don't see anything from vbvvbbb

I am a Leaf fan. your Nylander value is insane! You really think Anaheim or Carolina give up three pieces for Mylander. Like many on this site, holy unrealistic valuation of this kid!
