What about a Dallas/ Toronto trade
Corrado, Campbell and a 4th Rounder
for
Oleksiak and Ritchie.
Just a thought. They don't seem to want to use Corrado, could use defensive help even with Oleksiak being injured from time to time and I thought an extra winger 25 and under couldn't hurt.

IT would cost a lot more for that. That's like a gardiner/lepsic for Richie/oleckiak deal

It might be better for the Leafs to trade for a backup goalie. This is my suggestion.
Toronto trades Lupul, Marincin and Campbell
Columbus trades McElhinney, Hartnell and Gallant
Toronto gets a backup, dependable 2Way/ Grinder and a decent prospect.
Columbus gets a Dman that's improved somewhat under Babcock, a decent top six forward if healthy and a dependable AHL Dman.
Toronto wants to dump Lupul and I think Columbus wants to do the same with Hartnell.

Honestly think the Leafs want to sign Enroth, but are waiting to see the outcome with Vesey and Cowan before deciding. They may be forced to trade for a goalie.

Toronto Trades Lupul
Dallas Trades Lethonen and a Conditional 6th
If Lupul plays 45 games or more Tor gets the 6th and if not its essentially Lupul for Lethonen.

How long of a contract does he have?
2.) 13 Aug 2016 16:17:48
Lupul has 2 years left 5.25 per year
Lehtonen has 2 years left 5.9 per year
So, the Leafs might better off going after Niemi instead, because he is cheaper and is more of a backup goalie instead of Lehtonen.
Niemi has 2 years left at 4.5 per year.
3.) 14 Aug 2016 14:24:32
This is only a deal that goes last minute of dealing before the expansion draft when no other team wants Niemi or Lehtonen.
The argument against trading now is that the Stars could trade either goalie to a contender and receive much better picks plus the entire cap decrease.
4.) 14 Aug 2016 18:12:34
The Stars have said they are perfectly fine going with both this season so don't expect a deal until the deadline at the earliest. Even then, they might keep both and expose one in the expansion draft.

I think this trade proposal is interesting idea, but I agree Cal doesn't get enough back so I have an alternate.
Calgary - D. Hamilton and F. Hamilton
Anaheim - C. Fowler and 5th RDP
Toronto - J. Van Riemsdyk, P. Holland, and F. Corrado
Flames - C. Fowler, 5th RDP and F. Corrado
Ducks - J. Van Riemsdyk and P. Holland
Leafs - D. Hamilton and F. Hamilton
Flames get a decent dman in Fowler and a depth dman in Corrado
Ducks get a much needed top 6 FWD with great contract and a depth FWD
Leafs get a decent dman, a depth FWD and the removal of a contract to free up some room to do something else in the future.

Yeah I'd like to see what happens with the Leafs this year. They're probably going to keep Lupul for the expansion draft anyway. I think if Lupul has a good showing this season with Bozak, Kadri, Matthews, Nylander or Holland; if the Leafs decide he's got some value then he could be a deadline deal.

Okay, I'll be the first to budge. Tor knws what they got in Gardiner and JVR and they are certainly better than or equal to Trouba and Ehlers, so think the two for two are a decent proposal because Trouba and Ehlers are younger and Ehlers has potential. If they just drop the 2nd and suggest a 4th mayber a 3rd and Corrado for Enstrom then I think it fairs much easier for both teams. I doubt even Jets fans would argue this one but I will probably hear it from both sides.

I agree with lab16, the Avs need a shake up and Lab's trade proposal is pretty doable I think. But maybe the new coach wants to get his feet wet before making sudden big moves for his team. I think this is more of a trade deadline proposal. Just so the new coach can actually assess what he has in his players.

Yeah I don't see either of these two trades actually being done, but I do think they're both reasonable and wouldn't mind seeing this happen.
