Okay, I'll be the first to budge. Tor knws what they got in Gardiner and JVR and they are certainly better than or equal to Trouba and Ehlers, so think the two for two are a decent proposal because Trouba and Ehlers are younger and Ehlers has potential. If they just drop the 2nd and suggest a 4th mayber a 3rd and Corrado for Enstrom then I think it fairs much easier for both teams. I doubt even Jets fans would argue this one but I will probably hear it from both sides.

Not a bad deal, but I can't see Winnipeg making these moves. They have a pretty decent player in Elhers (38 pts - 1st season). While Trouba's value is massively over-hyped, he is still a decent DMan; he is only 23.

JVR (28) will probably go a cup contender team next year. Maybe NYR, Anaheim; or any other teams that can give up prospects as payments. Their 1st rounders are usually out of the top 12 and less desirable.

Gardiner, while much maligned, has lots of untapped offense and showed last year that he can play D a lot better. Just about any team at any reasonable level of development would take him, but they will have to pay well for him.

The Jets are 1-2 years ahead of the Leafs in their rebuild and have no reason to get older. Patience is the virtue here and should be there as well. But Like Buffalo, and Edmonton?, the Jets don't need to trade away their youth for quick run to the playoffs when in 3 years they will be their for a long time.

Good move for the Leafs. Not for Winnipeg.

The Leafs should wait until one of the young LW prospects steps up, before moving JVR.

Value wise it's not a bad post TBH. JVR and Ehlers are a wash. Gardiner and Corrado are a wash for Trouba and Enstrom. The 2nd rounder is what makes it tilt in the Jets' favour but why would the teams make this move? Toronto gains a question mark in Trouba who wants way too much money. Do the Jets solve their upcoming expansion draft dilemma? Why would the Leafs inch their way to 49 contracts when they need flexibility for the trade deadline?
