Where will Stamkos play next season?

Tampa, Buffalo, Detroit, Toronto or other.

Shawn9726

1.) 26 Jun 2016 17:27:21
Other. He stays put in Tampa.

2.) 29 Jun 2016 04:36:30
Tampa is out, as they just started signing marginal players. You generally don't do that when engaged in a bidding process.

Toronto, or Detroit would be my guess. However Buffalo has money to throw around. Spite seems to be their motto lately.

(G) F. Anderson to Toronto

I think it needs to happen and will happen.

Toronto needs that number 1 goalie that can be part of the team for a long time and Anaheim needs to get something for him before he's taken in the expansion draft.

What do you guys think it would take to make it happen? Keep in mind that Anderson is an RFA on July 1.

The prices will be lower at the last minute before the pre-expansion dealine for trading. But as of right now.

1) The first thing to do for the Leafs is to sign Enroth for 2 years, this July 1st 2016. Quality, low cost, #2 goalie that can handle #1. He is the shield for the goalie you want to keep.

Assuming Anderson should command a 4-6 M salary:

Then trade G Bernier(cap dump), LW JVR (8.3 M)

for

RD Bieksa(cap dump), LW Anderson, 24th OA ( 5M assummed +4M +1M= 10M )

So Anaheim saves 1.7 M the first year and 5.8 M the second year. The year of the expansion draft. They get a goalie perfect for the exp draft. And of course they get JVR, whom they have wanted for years now.

This leaves the Leafs with Anderson, the pick, and Bieksa as a two year cap hit, but he can tutor the D troops by example.

Normally a goalie and a 24th OA pick would not get you JVR, but this deal solves 2 problems for both teams. And it does not cost the Leafs dearly towards the cap.

2.) 20 Jun 2016 04:51:09
Way too much from Toronto! If both teams want to solve their needs, it should look more like this

Toronto trades. - JVR, Bernier and the 30 th pick overall

Anaheim trades. - Andersen. and. Cam Fowler

Toronto gets their long term solution in gosl and on defence. Anaheim gets a good return in JVR for a RFA goaltender who they are going to lose anyway. Bernier will be lost in the draft and be a servicable backup and the 30th pick will ease the loss of Fowler.

3.) 20 Jun 2016 21:44:07
Anaheim will not let Fowler go if they can get rid of other contracts. That's the draw to get the goalie. (excuse the LW typo).

Your trade will return 1 more decent player, and giving up an extra 1st rounder
vs.
2 years of an excellent vet, cap relief enticement for Anaheim(an internal budget limited team), and a 24th OA pick to add to the rebuild (without losing a pick).

JVR is worth a quality player and a pick, but not two quality players.

Spot on! Shawn9726!

lab16 I know right! That's something iv been thinking about for a long time then BOOM.

Just saying, you people are really over valuing JVR. Love the guy and he's a great player but he's not Tarasanko.

Let's here some more reasonable JVR trades.

Shawn9726

1.) 10 Jun 2016 02:31:54
JVR for Ryan McDonaugh and Kevin Hayes

2.) 10 Jun 2016 21:45:44
Some people are definitely over valuing him but you're crazy if you don't think he has extremely good value.
1. Former 2OA pick in his prime
2. Proven to produce without a top centers or even 2nd line centre at his side
3. 30 goal scorer that can produce 60+ points
4. Extremely cap friendly contract for the next 2 seasons

3.) 10 Jun 2016 23:18:22
I've been hoping for a JVR/Trouba hockey trade for a while now. Makes so much sense for both teams.

Thoughts on the 2016 17 starting lineup

I can come up with so many different outcomes but it's just that. We could still go in so many directions.

Would love to hear anyone's thoughts!

JVR Stamkos Marner
Vessey Matthews Nylander
Komorov Kadri Soshnikov
Hyman Brown Michalek/Brooks

Rielly Russell
Gardiner Zaitzev
Hunwick Carrick/Marincin

Bernier/Ward

2.) 06 Jun 2016 14:22:54
Nice looking team there. The only change that I would suggest is switching Marner and Nylander, just because Nylander has AHL/NHL exposure. I would also switch Mattews and Kadri, Komorov would be a good influence/mentor for Matthews and Kadri has enough grit to support Marner.

A lot can change though come draft and July, we'll see, either way leafs are looking mighty fine!

3.) 07 Jun 2016 00:11:05
The only way Stamkos signs in TO is that Tampa can't come up with the money. If they don't, they lose him for nothing.

So the correct option for Yserman is to trade Callahan and/or Carle. Then he gets something in return for two pieces that are almost finished and he keeps his young sniper.

Something of this ilk will happen, because he can't afford to let him go.

Given that he signs with the Leafs, I like your lineups. Marner is right where he needs to be; feeding snipers - playing with vets.

Great 3rd line. 2nd line would be good a year later. I would put him on the 4th at first and move Greening up there. The young pups need protection.

Brown and Hyman are tough enough and Vessey will do well. Now call his Mom and make him sign here.

4.) 06 Jun 2016 20:16:47
Vessey-kadri-Marner
Komarov-Matthews-nylander
vanek-brown-soshnikov
Hyman-laich-michalek

Reilly-zaitsev
Gardiner-Russell
Carrick-Hunwick

Bernier
Bibeau

It won't be a great year but another step in the right direction, don't expect the cup yet. And I don't think stamkos is worth spending 10 mill on for 7 years if Matthews and Marner turn out to be what they're projecting we won't have the space to have all 3 then or will have to try and trade a 10$ mill contract of a 30 yr old that may or may not be at his best due to health and age. Let's see how we look before we go back to our old spend spend spend ways

5.) 06 Jun 2016 22:24:43
JVR - Stamkos - Marner

Hunwick - Carrick

My guess would be a 4th (maybe 3rd) condition being Toronto gets the pick if Bernier plays 20 games (30 if 3rd).

I know that Anaheim and Colorado do want to trade Lindholm and Barrie and I don't believe JVR for Hamonic would be even value. Then it comes down to Dumba, Larson and Ristolainen.
Not sure if Buffalo would even want to let go of defense right now so I guess it's down to two. Between them I don't see much difference so which ever is easiest to trade for.

Your on to something, but I think some more time would need to pass as I can't think of anything realistic right now.
