It's one game. I know it's Leafs Nation, but everyone just lost it after one game.
Mathews and Marner were ghosts, Marner was a giveaway machine, Nylander and JT didn't do anything beyond a couple decent plays, the entire 3rd line looked like an ECHL line and Matt Murray was ok, but not good.
Everyone needs to calm down.

They want to trade Ristolainen because of how big a liability he is defensively. Good offensive defenseman, but he may be even worse defensively than Gardiner.
I don’t think Leafs make this trade. Or at least I hope they don’t make this trade.

This trade has been kicked around for a while now. I still think it’s a good one, and hope the Leafs make a move like this.
I hope with the acquisition of Tavares, Leafs don’t wait for Liljegren to hopefully develop into our 1RHD. As much potential as Liljegren has, he’s years behind the likes of Parayko or Dumba or Manson. Leafs should make a move now to secure that top line defender.

I’ve heard online some speculation that maybe the leafs use the captaincy as a draw to resign Matthews which would make sense but jt has been pretty solid the last month or so basically when they moved Willy off his line.

@L1994 Adam Wylde is on the same level as Tanner in my mind. I don't put any stock into those comments.
I really don't think Mathews cares about being captain. He goes where the most money is.

Pieterangelo isn't an option, if they were to trade top picks and prospects if would be for parayko, young controllable asset with massive upside size and potential. argubley would be the best d for the leafs righy away. Whereas, Pieterangelo on the decline bigger cap hit and will likely want more money that the leafs can afford after next year. can someone say Seabrook 2.0 in a couple years,Also just had hand surgery. Its sad that a guy with rocks for brains mentions one name, and every hack writes articles saying why that guys is a fit, even though he's not. keys core age, young controllable asset for young controllable asset.

I love it when Kypreos talks about how he was the enforcer for NYR. It was his job to protect the stars. Lmao. Cause Mark Messier needed Nick Kypreos to protect him. Hahaha.
Kypreos is good at getting rumors started. And before Pietrangelo got injured, it seemed like a decent idea. And maybe not so far fetched still. Let’s just see what happens once Pietrangelo returns. If we can get him cheap and his play returns to form, Leafs would be wise to keep an eye on him.

dumba not amazing on offense and sucks on defense, think Tyson barrie but he can throw some hits. Hard pass not worth assets and hes a rental.
