There's no way to say I'm being favourable for TO! We need to blend our Hockey team with people that can skate and people that can skate and hit because right now all we have is people that can skate and score but as soon as you bump them we'll then we lose.
People I watched Montreal skate faster and out hit us and from looking at it we looked bigger than them! Just saying !
I agree that the 1.95mil Kassian makes is a little steep and I didn't run numbers don't have the time so here's my Lines Yo! Lol! Without my Kassian Trade!

I don't think colombus does this deal. The last 2 players that you put in his trade don't even have trade value in the AHL.
What you saw last night wasnt montreal skating and hitting more. You simply saw a momentum change in the third with a bad stick throw and a couple bad goaltending blemishes. put andersen in net and its a blowout.
Hockey is a game of momentum swings. Toronto needs to smarten up their attitude when having a lead. Its the third game in. can't expect leafs to win them all.
On a side note kapenen throwing his broken stick at the player with the puck was a dumb dumb move
However, weber picking up a price goaltenders stick and handing it to him is also a big no no but that didn't get called. If you're going to call 1 stick infraction you got to call the other. Weber had to use his stck to shovel price stick to him. He gloved the goalies stick while holding his stick. that's a no no.
Anyways, its just a game of 82. Plus it was the third period of 3 games in 4 nights while habs had only played 1 game total before last night.
Legs had to be tired in that 3rd.

I can get behind some of your points but they pressure the PP and they did out skate us! This however is one game of 82 but that don’t hide the softness that I witness last night! I wouldn’t go as far to say they took runs at us but they finished their checks. We don’t! For the record I don’t expect goons and I was to revise the trade I would do it this way.

Agree 100% there hounddog. It's less of taking runs at people more on a dump and Chase finish your damn check! Every leaf player let's anyone do whatever they want without paying the price at all. Bringing in more 3rd liners isn't the solution though I don't think. It's getting Mathews Marner and Nylander to actually hit someone.

Looking at the reworked trade, Savard+Jenner for a Kapanen+Muzzin, is probably closer in “valueâ€. I can totally understand why Leafs would do this, to an extent, but I’m not so sure Columbus would make this trade.
If this deal happened, Leafs get a 2RHD, who we play 1RHD beside Rielly. The extra year over Muzzzin is a bonus. Problem becomes what to do with Ceci? Burying him on third line seems like a waste of a $4.5M player, and deteriorates any trade value he might have. We end up eating Ceci’s salary this year while he wastes away and demands a trade by deadline, in which case we get pennies back on the dollar.
As for Columbus, I’ve read quite a few analysts saying he was arguably Columbus’ best defenseman last year. I obviously didn’t watch a lot of their games, but his stats were good, and he has been consistently good for his career. I’m not so sure they want to lose a year of his services for pending UFA Muzzin. Jenner for Kapanen, I don’t know. Is Kapanen really a big upgrade over Jenner that Columbus wants to make this happen?
This trade doesn’t make either team better really. Toronto gets a bit more “gritâ€, while Columbus gets a bit younger and faster. But it doesn’t really address either teams needs right now either. The bonus to Columbus is the RFA status of zkapanen means he is controllable while Jenner is not.

This trade does not really make any sense for both clubs. Columbus would be gving too much away and they are looking to contend with the absense of panarin and bobrovsky. Also, leafs would be getting rid of their young talent and bring in guys with huge contracts. just doesn't make sense at all!

LOL now we get the truth. Just as biased as any average fan of their team. The Blues would be dumb to pass on Willy for Pietro 1 for 1! Considering Willy's youth, unquestioned high-end skill, untapped ceiling, acceptable cap hit and 6 years of term vs. Pietro's age (the decline approaches), clear ceiling (last year most likely) and lack of term (RENTAL) .
Nobody's buying on Allen, at least without some salary retention. Double for Bozak because of that term.

If the author is correct in his research and number crunching, guess how many players take a “hometown discount@ in order to remain on the team? Go lower. Lower. Almost there. That’s right. Personally i eouldnt do marner for jones. I think marner drives the PP and is a great pk guy also. I don't even care about cap savings its not my problem to care. Dubas figured it out and marner is a guy leafs need to keep tavares and matthews very dangerous. U take marner away and now teams don't need to cover tavaras as bad thus putting their energy on matthews more. Leafs get weaker with this deal. Star forwards are worth more than star dmen. as long as your team is under cap who cares what the players salary are.
If first deal goes down then i'm all in getting krazy eyes. If first deal doesn't happen than krazy eyes is too expensive.

I wouldn’t pay Krazy Eyes over $2M to be a fourth liner. That’s as much as the whole fourth line should be paid all together. Not worth it. I’d actually rather keep Gauthier.
Unless Jones was signed for the same amount of years as Marner, there is no way Leafs be making that trade. As pointed out above, value of defensemen has dropped significantly the last 3-5 years. The “new†nhl s crazy about goals and offense. Heck, even in the 90’s a forward cost way more than a defenseman. When Scott Stevens became the highest paid defenseman in the league at just over $1M a year, guys like Gretzky, Hull, Lemieux, Jagr, etc had already smashed that salary. It’s always been the case that forwards are more valuable than defensemen, and it will always be that way.

Unless you mean 20 games suspended, I’m a bit lost. Kassian has never come even close to 20 (15 is his best) despite playing with McDavid and Draisaitl. So arguably he played with better talent in Edmonton and still couldn’t produce except for when McDavid bounced the puck in off Kassian’s leg or something. Lol.
Kassian is a dinorsaur. Right up there with Matt Martin. While I myself like a couple guys like this on the team, especially in playoffs, Dubas seems to think they should be avoided at all costs.
If Dubas wins a cup in the next 3-5 years, then I eat my words. Until then, Kassian would be a boat anchor contract for the first three of those five years. And sinking fast.

Don't get me wrong with the hate on Kassian. I would play Kassian on the 4th line all day long if he was a league min player. But he isn't. Even at 1m I honestly don't see the value in knuckle draggers. Never have. Even back in the prime days of fighting in the NHL a lot of the "knuckle draggers" could also play the game. Obviously there are exceptions of course but a guy like Wendel Clark more the type everyone needs not a tiger Williams, Bob Probert anymore.
Marner for Seth Jones is a talk I would be open to if they throw in Anderson and maybe something else minor. I like Anderson style and think he would be good beside Tavares. If we robbing CBJ though, would rather have werenski.

Whew. I actually think Carolina would still make this deal and just flip Muzzin or promote someone from within. It’s an overlay for sure. But since I doubt Leafs make this trade, it’s a moot point. This trade makes us weaker. We lose Kapanen up front, and we lose Muzzin back end. WE don’t replace the forward, which automatically means our offense gets weaker. And Pesce isn’t much an improvement over Muzzin, if any, though I really do love that contract of his.
I don’t think either team makes this deal.

So just wait a second. I watched the game and everything you said is some what correct but that said even with the Man Crush I have for Kassian you can not make this trade! I agree that we are as soft as jello! Marner, Mathews and Nylander oops almost forgot the Captain are soft but amazing offensive skills, I’ve tried posting some trades but for some reason they won’t post them. Don’t get me wrong I love me some Kassian but not at that price. for that amount we should be be in Nurse territory.
I will try to post my trades again to avoid stealing your trade post! But I like Jenner and Nash from Columbus and I would take Kassian for the fourth line.
Positive thinking lol is what we need! Trade Babcock for Quinville and go from there. Also our third line is ferocious Moore/ Kerfoot/ Mikheyev besides Mathews’s offence they’ve played the best 2-way hockey so far.

Marner is ranked 45th I’m pretty sure Parayko is not ranked in the top 50 and Yes the Toronto Maple Leafs could use Parayko no argument there but I just don’t see many people begging for him to be a leaf on this site compared to other choices.

He’s not better than Larson, Letang, Trouba, Spurgeon or Dumba, Weber, Boychuck, Elder or Myers and he’s not better than Seabrook or Duncan now he would be the best player on Detroit so I’ll give you that one, also his skill set is getting close equal to most of these players due to their age. That said he’s not better or as you like to think way above these guys.
He’s barley made one top 20 list actually came in at 19! Parayko is a chump! JK! With potential and that’s that.

Can you please send me the links that shows Parayko in the top 20 or whatever your point was because I come up with blanks to help your cause! It’s easy to name 31 defensemen that are better than Parayko to be honest every nhl teams number one d-man is better than Parayko that said Parayko is at least 32/ 33 best defencemen in the league. haven’t you notice he’s not even the best d-man on his own team, so hopefully that can at least put you to rest on the whole Parayko man crush you have going on!
