Nylander for Dumba
Thoughts???

No way. Nylander is an overpayment at this point for Dumba. Dumba is too injury prone.

Dumba missed 7 games in his previous 3 seasons before last year where he had the significant injury. He is not injury prone. I think it is a fair trade. Minnesota knows Toronto has to overpay at this point.

Dumbas value has decreased substantially.

Two years ago this would have been an easy yes and a no from the wild. Now though this is a massive overpayment for a young player locked up for 2 more years than Dumba who is also playing better right now.

High risk/ high reward. Nylander is doing outstanding since Keefe came in as coach. Just watched him score a goal. Too bad Kubalik got one right after. Since coming back from injury Dumba hasn’t been himself. It’s too much a gamble to chance trading Nylander for Dumba right now. A package centred around Kapanen+ makes more sense to me. And if you don’t think that’s enough, then it’s just not worth pursuing Dumba then. Too risky.

Nylander for ristolainen
Not a fan of trading in division but what the hell.

If Buffalo was a stronger contender, I don’t think Leafs would do it. As is, Buffalo isn’t much threat to Leafs right now. Probably a couple years away still (though I’ve been saying that year after year for many years) .
This proposal has been kicked around a lot. I’m not a huge fan of it. Ristolainen’s poor defense more than offsets any added offense he brings. He’s a liability in the back end, when what we need is the opposite: a quarterback stay-at-home defensive defenseman that can set up the play.
Not Ristolainen. Anyone but Ristolainen.

Not going to happen. If they trade Nylander it will not be within the Atlantic division. Ideally Western conference.

Ya this is doubtful. Ristolainen is a heck of a player but he is a part of Buffalo's defence core and it looks like once Gardiner signs there, Buffalo will have the one of the best defence cores in the league.
