Would it be something like this

I think this works because it gives detroit some young guys with term and control a good left d man in Dermott who we may not be able to afford and have some in the AHL and Toronto gets back some forwards who play a rougher game with skill and a big rhd who is minus 9 on a terrible team also gives the Leafs some cap room and I believe Bertuzzi and Bowey can be signed to decent deals.

If you were to replace Bowery with Hronek I would like it a lot better.

You’re giving up three good roster players and a good prospect for one good roster player, a couple not so good roster olayerd and a pick. It definitely weakens is both now and in the future.

I like the idea of swapping Bracco for a 2nd.

Detroit would take this in a heartbeat. Not only does it help a rebuild it makes them better now. yzerman would be silly not to take this offer. well done if making a good trade for detroit was your goal.

What would it take to get one of the Tkachuks?

I would go after Matthew would something like this work

Flames Tkachuk Hanifin.

No because even tho marner is better Tkachuks value is higher due to the cap hit and his role on the flames plus you wouldn’t get hanafin too.

Not sure if Marner is better. That sounds like bias lol. They do different things. Tkachuk suits Calgary far better than Marner does for example. He scores more, hits more, grindy type of guy. Ott would be more than willing though I'm sure. Brady is not having a good year and would take. marner alone with a big add from them.

Marner for Tkachuk straight up is pretty even. Ceci has negative value, so the Hanifin for Ceci part makes it a no way for the Flames. There has been many trade proposals on this page for Tkachuk and Marner before they signed. Chemistry wise Marner might b a better fit for Mathews and JT.

Of course Flames wouldn’t do this. I love the enthusiasm, but reality is Ceci would have to come out, because I don’t think Flames could afford him. And it wouldn’t be Hanifin. We would be getting Hamonic. Maybe Brodie if we were lucky.

Too bad Tkachuk is a better all round player and more natural goal scorer. Calgary really gets their money worth from him. He’s more effective dollar for dollar than Marner is. I don’t see how Marner improves their team any better than Tkachuk, and costs significantly more.

Let's make the leafs a tougher team to play against.

Tor: Kadri and kapanen/ holl
Wsh: Wilson and smith-pelly/ Jensen

Would something like this be enough to pry Wilson from wsh. Even though Wilson makes some questionable plays he plays with heart and has shown he can play with top players on the top line. Imagine a Marner - Tavares - Wilson top line.

Kadri for Wilson is interesting. We could move Nylander to center to replace Kadri. However I don't think the leafs can afford Wilson right now, and if were trading Kadri or Kapanen it should be for a legit top 4 d like Colin Miller or Brett Pesce. Jensen is ok but he is a bottom pair defenceman in my opinion.

Wilson might actually be an even bigger screw up than Kadri. I don’t like him one bit. Way overpaid too. I can’t imagine Dubas would make this trade. And Washington is deep at Center anyway, so wouldn’t need Kadri either. I don’t see that swap happening. Smith-Pelly cleared waivers earlier in the season. We could have had him for nothing, so don’t see any hope they trade for him, especially a valuable asset like Kapanen. Jensen is an improvement over Holl, but as a stand-alone trade it has zero chance of happening.

What do you think it would take to get Brock Boeser out of Vancouver?

Would something based around Marner be possible I think it would start at Boeser+

Plus Boeser would need to be resigned.

Would Brown or Johnson get it done? Or would you have to add

Gives a good forward roughly same age as the two from Toronto and keeps the cap lower at 1.4 mil for next two years.
