I've heard some people from Toronto and they'd embrace this trade. From Winnipeg standpoint I don't like it nor will it help them.

Um so Mitch Marner an elite first line winger who is already one of the best rw in the league at the age of 20 gets traded for a number 2 defencmen with injury problems. Marner should be as untouchable as Mathews.

Trouba and the Jets are apparently 3M apart in arbitration so taking on Marner who will get more $ than Trouba doesn't make sense.

The Jets need their top pairing RHD far more than a small, definitely nowhere near elite winger, Marner. Our offense is fine. Now, if Marner could play center, you could start a discussion.

I’d love to hear your reasoning as to why Marner is not elite. Because he is elite already and only going to get better.

Regardless, this trade will never happen.

Our GM blatantly said he is not going to trade TMNM. Why do people insist on including them in trades?

Lmao! You think Trouba is worth Marner? Take a second and really ask yourself what has Trouba proven? Nothing at all but how he thinks he's worth 7m. he's the next Luke Schenn in my opinion. All hype and no action.

The question is; what has Marner proven? He's a good winger that gets most of his points on the PP. Whereas all advanced stats put Trouba in the top 30 D men in the league.

Value wise:
Top pair RHD>>>>>>>>>>>>>Winger.
A plain simple fact in the NHL.

But Trouba does not get you Marner, and that's not even up for discussion.

Can you tell me what the advanced stats say about Marner? I know the answer already, but you chose to left that factoid out.

Value is perceived. Both teams likely value their player higher than the other. Trouba is in his prime, Marner is just about to enter his. Let next season tell you whose better.
