To be honest, that's about all I would be willing to offer for Dumba right now. He is far removed from being the dominant stud defenseman he used to be. A change of scenery night be what is needed to get his career going again. But it will take more than what is on offer here to accomplish that.
Wild were one point out of the playoffs when the season was cancelled. They have a better team than most people give them credit for. If Dumba had played to his old standards before injury, they probably would have been sitting comfortably in a playoff spot right now. Despite playing him on the third pairing at the end of season, Minnesota believes Dumba is still a top 25 defenseman in the league. If that's the case, they will want a lot more for him, despite the fact that Dermott may even pass Dumba this year in rankings if Dermott gets the ice time again like he did this year.

Dumba when healthy is worth a better return than Dermott and Johnson. The key is when or if he will return back to form.

Maybe sweeten the pot by adding Bracco to make it happen. A potential top 4 d man, top 6 forward and a top prospect should be enough for Dumba. Or go for Manson with a cheaper package. Either way unless Dubas plans to play dermott with Rielly I think the signing of Lehtonen kind of pushes Dermott or Holl out the door.

Leafslife so what do u consider a top prospect is? Bracco was 2nd in AHL points a couple years ago. He's only a quote on quote perennial AHL'er because he plays a positions the Leafs are stacked on. Not to mentioned his defensive game isn't good enough for a bottom 6 role hense the reason he's still in the AHL. If he was anywhere else he would be playing already. Minny needs offense and Bracco and Johnsson would help that plus a replacement for Dumba with Dermott. Either way it might work or not but I think the value isn't far off if not bang on.

The leafs will probably have to add a 3rd and a 5th. But is a fair assesment, the issue with minny is their are getting old. Dubnyk has lost a bit of an edge. Overall minny is having trouble putting the puck into the net not keeping into outbof theirs.
They are assessing their players and probably going to bring in youth.

I like the second one but Dumba will not go that cheap. If Muzzin at 2 years left cost a first and 2 prospects how would Johnson Timashov and Ceci get you Dumba at 3 years left?

I would think Columbus would have to retain to make salaries work. It’s a low risk/ high reward trade though. If all Anderson does is score a game winning goal, ever, then he’s done more than Bracco ever will. And if Anderson scores a game 7 overtime winner then he’s a hero that cost us nothing. At minimal he should bring a physical presence to the team we need.

I think what a lot of people are missing is that Muzzin was performing well when the Leafs acquired him. Dumba is NOT performing well, and still costs $6M for 3 more years. You also have to consider the risk to the Leafs taking him on when he's not performing to his contract.

Let's just say st. louis is willing to move Parayko. using your deal as the starting point in negotiation let's try to figure this out.
To start let's make it clear st. louis doesn't have cap space this year. However, next year with the cap increase they have a whopping 23 million. They don't need to sign any significant RFA except edmondson. They lose 3 UFA dmen but will be looking to replace them with the money they have.
I feel a deal starts with taking 1 of those 3 dmen off their hands. Bouwmeester 5.3, gunnarsson 2.85 and a lesser extent bortuzzo 1.9
Putting bouwmeester in the package gets st. louis really thinking. I mean 25% of 5.3 is not pocket change and everyone loves saving actual money. So by giving them this cap relief lessens the package needed to give up. Now, since they have the space to resign Gardiner next year this deal starts to make sense. They will get a good look at him and if they like it's great but if they don't like or he simply doesn't resign I think st. louis would love to get a 1st round pick. Yes that pick is going to be 26-31 but when st. louis traded their pick away they thought they'd be giving up just a 26-31 pick. now it looks like a lottery pick so got to make that up in any way possible. ouch to them.
Next I think just to be nice let's give st. louis their 4th round pick. why not it was theirs anyways.
Now we are dealing with paryako so I don't think we are done. St. louis will want a prospect to add to revolving door to their ELC contracts they play with their what 11 player core. st. louis needs some speed so you guest it Jeremy Bracco.
I still don't think this is enough. they are going to want a d prospect to keep that door revolving also. leafs say no to any Liljegren or Sandin chatter so what's left? They will want to replace paryakos size and physicality some day and I watched this kid the other day and yes it's only the ohl but damn he hit everything in his path. still very raw but worth the reward if one day you'll be singing the blues when you cross that blue line. his name Fedor Gordeev . Next leafs get extra dman in deal so I suggest waive marincin but somehow Holl will be the choice. either way 1 of them must go unless leafs want to roll with 3 extra dmen and just for fun try Holl on RW.

I know gardiners contract is up after next year but people are acting like a 50pt puck moving d man in Gardiner isn't worth much! They're only worth much when they play for another team then the Leafs I guess.
Apparently a Top 4 d man, top 6 winger and the best goalie in the AHL isn't a good enough package for a d man that has never hit 40pts. Blues need scoring and goaltending. They hit two birds with one stone with that package.

Defence, center position and grit is much needed to take this team to the next level. We have unbelievable skill depth on the wings so something has to give for us to get that true #1 D that will help us lock up games we should be winning but instead blowing year after year when it counts. Doughty is the definition of everything the Leafs need as a #1 d man. Amazing resume, Skill, grit, size and best of all defensively sound i.

I agree. LA still looks good, but really, no one considers them a real threat to win the cup anymore. Doughty has said he will go to the highest bidder, as he believes he is worth being paid the most of all defensemen in the league. All Leafs have to do is make an offer.

By far the most redicules trade offers I've seen on here. So give up A+ prospect in Robertson for a #5 d man, kapanen and a 1st for struggling Montour (MAYBE a top 4 D man) Not to mention that takes away another 1st round pick for the 3rd straight year. Not smart at all and would never happen! Thank god your not the GM!
