Flames aquire Andreas Johnsson, Calvin Pickard and a 2019 2nd (TOR)

Leafs aquire Rasmus Andersson and Tyler Parsons.

I would swap out Pickard for Sparks if Calgary preferred.

Flames have made some good moves but still in need of depth scoring and a reliable back up to help the aging Smith.

Leafs get a young up and coming RHD and a goalie where the sky is the limit and whose age puts him near his peak when Andersen's contract is over.

@Matardri

First off I’d rather keep Johnsonn if we are trading him for another prospect and we don’t need parson we already have Joseph Woll and Ian Scott and the leafs have a cluster of goalies.

Leafs don't need up and coming, were needing right here right now.

Highly unoriginal, it’s the same trade you posted last time with a bit of tweaking. This trade makes us weaker on LW and does nothing to increase our chances of winning now or in the future.

I agree with Leafs1994. Andersson would be a nice acquisition for the right price, but right now we need Johnsson more as our LW is weak and Marleau set to leave after this year or next latest. We definitely don’t need Parsons. Would rather keep Sparks over bringing in Parsons. Sparks has more experience and is the better goalie.

It’s not as easy as you think coming up with original suggestions regularly. You just rehashed your last proposal, and made it worse. But don’t let it get to you. The whole fun is researching and analyzing possibilities and reading what others suggest to improve.

Highly unoriginal, it’s the same proposal you floated last time just tweaked slightly.

I like Andersson, but being as that we are weak on LW and Marleau may not be returning after this season, I would retain Johnsson. I would leave the goalie swap out altogether.

We don’t NEED anything. Our team is elite as it stands. The only position we aren’t well above league average is RHD. We could use a good young RHD who can slot in now, is cheap and has a bright future. Andersson provides that. Someone like Brandon Montour would be perfect as well. Johnsson is our 5/ 6 best winger and is totally expendable. But I do doubt Dubas will trade him after leading his Marlies to the cup.

Parsons age lines up much better with Andersen’s than Sparks. I doubt Sparks will be OK with being a backup or less for 3 more seasons. Parsons will be entering his prime as Andersen leaves his. Reports say Pickard is being shopped. I doubt Mac has another season in him after this. Parsons/ Woll would make an amazing AHL goalie tandem and greatly increases our chance of having an NHL quality goaltender after Andersen. Goaltending is Voodoo, you can never have too many.

Leafs aquire Rasmus Andersson

Flames aquire Andreas Johnsson and 2019 3rd.

Both teams are acquiring young players with room to grow and who play a position of weakness. Calgary has shored up their offence on paper but adding Johnsson could improve them further down the line up.

Andersson is young and has a tone of potential. He would make our line up as a 5/6 and has top pair potential.

I evaluated Andersson more than Johnsson because Johnsson is 23 and has less untapped potential. He's also going to be more expensive next season when he resigns.

That’s what they thought when drafted johnsson in the seventh round. Look where he’s now.

2.) 10 Jul 2018 03:30:39
I think Buffalo would want more.

3.) 10 Jul 2018 05:15:55
I agree with aug18, Buffalo would certainly want something. Like maybe a whole new team and full memory-wipe of the last decade.

Now that Hamilton is traded, Flames may wish to keep Andersson. Having said that, should Flames decide that they want to move him, I think what you are offering is fair. My only concern is that Leafs depth at LW isn’t as strong as it is at RW. I would like to keep Johnsson to play with Kapanen. Otherwise if we trade Johnsson, then Lievo is going to be playing 3LW for us.

I would offer Flames a similar package involving Brown, who has more experience than Johnsson, and is also signed to a relatively cap friendly contract for another two years. We have a bit more depth at RW than LW, and losing Brown off the fourth line probably wouldn’t hurt us as much as losing Johnsson from third line would.

@aug18

Buffalo? I think you have your large RHD with first name Rasmus mixed up. Buffalo has Ristolainen. And yes, Buffalo would want a lot more for Rasmus Ristolainen that Calgary can expect for their Rasmus Andersson.

6.) 10 Jul 2018 11:43:35
They’d also like to be a part of this trade. Since, you know, it’s between Calgary and Toronto. Rasmus Andersson, not Rasmus Dahlin.

7.) 11 Jul 2018 02:15:10
I think Hanifin and Hamilton are a wash. Hamilton is currently better, Hanifin will be better. They have the same amount of depth after that trade as they did before.

I don’t suggest big trades because I don’t want one to happen. I am very happy with the leafs current roster. You sound like Nonis. You somehow believe that this is the only year that matters and want the leafs to go all in. I don’t. I want there to be meat on the bone so that we can aquire at the deadline for cheap and have cap space open so that bonus’ do not carry over. You also fail to recognize that the leafs will fall upon 5.5 million in free cap once the season starts and Horton is placed on LTIR. You make trades just for the sake of making trades. Mine are calculated and much closer to reality.

Montour is very good and only going to get better.

The package you outlined Is just too much. The leafs will not be retaining salary any time soon.

You seem like an intelligent person. I truly do not under stand how you can sit there and argue that age and performance are not related. Draw a graph. X axis is age, y axis is ‘performance’ how ever you want to measure it. You honestly don’t believe that you will see an upwards trajectory, plateau than regression? Give your head a shake and think about what you’re saying.

I have made multiple trade proposals, just not recently. The leafs have one of the best rosters in the NHL, I see little need for a big trade. But I’ll post one now if you like. Don’t hurt yourself trying to find a way to pick it apart.

I’m going to be honest - I read the first paragraph and a half and stopped reading.

Liljegren was bottom pairing for the Marlies entire Calder run. I watched several of those games in person and only missed a couple live. He was at no point a top 4. Look it up.

Age has nothing to do with performance? Did you read that before you typed it out. Age has everything to do with performance. Players grow and there performance peaks and than declines. Which is why Liljegren won’t be in the NHL full time for at least another season - he’s too young and not strong enough to handle the nhl yet

If was comments like these that I stopped reading this site. You’re entitled to you’re opinion. As am I. But 80% of what you just said is garbage.
