Dubas would be fired if he made this move. Nylander > Scheifele and Sandin > Demelo
Jets would need to add significantly in order for Dubas to even listen.

Because he makes too much. It isn't so much a hatred of Kerfoot, it's that if you want an upgrade somewhere else you need to dump salary or trade for Weber's contract.

It seems Kerfoot can play anywhere the bottom 3 lines. Salary might look desirable for trade, however it seems better to keep than unload.

Simply put, Kerfoot has some value and can be replaced cheaper with just as effective imo and the Leafs need to move cap out to stay competitive moving forward.

The Leafs cannot afford to toss away Kerfoot. He has a lot of value in the lineup. He is having a great season with excellent Chemistry on JT Nylander line.
