Kessler wants to come back I think so not the LTIR contract we should target.
Get Anaheim to retain 50% on Manson because he is a 3rd pairing defenceman making 2-2.5 million more then he should be, especially after 3 bad seasons in a row.
Honestly I wouldn’t even trade for him and the only think I would do here is Johnsson and the 2nd for the 1st to try and move up in the draft.

I believe these trades sure up the defense, provide stronger 2 way forwards with some jam and reduce the spend on goaltending. With Marner's huge cap gone relief it helps balance out the team to actually win a playoff round when it matters.

Can we afford to do this? It looks like you are trading out equal amounts of cap as you are bringing in, which means we can't sign all those free agents you are wanting.
Holl making $2M to sit in the press box is a questionable choice. And signing Simmonds to play him 4th line would not be a move I can see Dubas doing. Simmonds will be more than a league minimum player for sure. Probably around what Clifford makes. I'd rather re-sign Clifford.

Larsson is, well, on a decline of some sorts he is getting up there in age and honestly I don’t think he is the guy for us.
I also doubt Florida trades Huberdeau if they are losing Hoffman and potentially Dadanov as well.

If Florida would trade Huberdeau and Ek the Leafs would have to trade Marner, Nylander and Sandin as taking on the $18 mil in salary that Marner and Nylander cost the Leafs would have to give up something to make it worth while for the Panthers.

Strong free agent goaltending market to replace a 1A/B tandem with Campbell.
Edmonton gets skilled player in their top 6, puck moving D-man and starting goalie needed based upon the Smith/Koskinen implosion in the bubble.

My only issue with this is that nurse is a lhd he is very good don’t get me wrong but I think if we make a deal it brings Larson back the other way and not nurse, good proposal.

My only issue with this is that Edmonton would never make this deal.
If we got Nurse, Rielly or Muzzin would be on their way out.
Kassian is a more difficult fit. We would be wanting him on one of our top 2 lines. Nylander can switch to LW I guess. But is that optimal?
