I think this would be a good hockey trade. I know quite a few people are going to disagree as Tarasenko maybe worth more as he is younger and a 40 goal scorer. Personally I don't think the leafs should add to this trade because JVR is the highest valued player they have. But if they were to the most i'd add is a our current 3rd round pick or kapenan; only because I'm not too high on him. Tarasenko scored 40 goals, 34 assists - 74 points this past season. He really needs to work on his defensive game as he was only a + 7 but I think Babcock can help him and playing on a line with matthews and marner, two players who back check and are good defensively would help. JVR to stl makes sense as he is an elite winger and his contract could really help a STL team that's struggling cap wise.
Future top line 2 years from now:
Tarasenko - Matthews - Marner

31st OA not 30th. Control is always better. If you know a team wants a particular player, you draft that player and then make a deal.
For contending teams, at this juncture, it will not be an issue; they will pay to get what they want.

i don't think trading nylandwr would be a good idea. He's young and he can both score and create plays. Personally I would try to package and move jvr for the 2nd overall for laine or for a pick that would get us tkachuck.We lack a true number 1/2 LW prospect and I think getting laine aswell ( or tkachuck would help.

As much as I want Laine, I don't think giving up nylander would be a good idea. Nylander can both score and create plays. Plus I don't think winnipeg would be interested in another center. They're looking to fill inthe LW. I think packaging jvr with picks for 2ov and picks/prospects could work out for both teams.

Thats why a week ago I stated that we should try to acquire tarasenko from the blues. He's 24, 40 goal scorer and plays LW. also another position we lack a elite player in. He's three years younger than JVR as well. We would have to add to make the deal but I don't mind throwing in pits 1st and a 3rd/4th. Plus I'm pretty sure JVR would fit in well with stl. Big offence player that not only fits their model but also helps with their cap situation
