Leafs Bozak

Pittsburgh 1st rounder 2018 2months into season

Dear dbone

Nylander is moving to second line centre.

Teams win cups being extrmley deep down the middle

Leafs have lots wingers that are cheap and close or already NHL ready

Kapanen Leivo rychel Johnsson

Who else in league would have this at C

Matthews
Nylander
Kadri

Teams try shut down Matthews and nylander can't do it then you have kadri to worry about.

Dbone

There is cap so u can't have everything so you mix in cheap quality wingers and you set the bar at what your top 4 dmen will get paid.
Can you please wake up and smell the coffee. Between you and spider spider spider I'm developing a drinking problem.

Disappointments at camp to me and not a major one was Andrew Neilsen. I thought he would have pushed harder but at 21 he still has lots of time and we can watch him grow this year at marlies.

Nylander isn't playing centre, he's staying with Matthews and at the rate cenre gets tossed it's not a bad idea having two players capable of taking a face off on each line. Nylander is not playing in the middle this year.

Honestly there are not many people on this site that actually have logical ideas and know what they're talking about. Lab16 and Goatson Matthews are the only people on here that know.

Umm Dbone I think you are forgetting someone (@me)

David, If you watched the leafs pre season you would see how dynamic Matthews and Willy have already become, they will only get better, and so much better together. Plus you know, Babs already said Nylander is not playing center this year.

Hmmmmm, Dbone do you remember how much Lab ranted and raved about trading Nylander? He wouldn't stop about it, added up the games of professional hockey he had played in Sweden and the Marlies and said he would never develop his defensive game. I do agree he has a lot of good insight, but the Nylander rant was ongoing for some time. I do like seeing your posts as well as Aries99, he has really good thoughts when posting. Now if we can only get David to either slow down his typing or learn to spell, now that would be something. lol.

I enjoy DBF the most. Essentially calling us all idiots. including me. and he is probably correct 99.99 percent of the time. lol. none of us have any insider info, we all just spit ball ideas.

Marner is a natural centre aswell why does everyone want to strip matthews of nylander, some of the best chemistry going in the league let's split them up. Give your heads a shake. Let marner move to centre and throw kapanen on his right and leivo on his left
Then 3rd marleau kadri brown
4th martin aaltonen and komorov.

Mph1, well said! We really have no inside info we have no way of knowing. this is a speculation site and nothing any of us propose is even crossing the minds of the guys in charge.

What if someone secretly reads this site for ideas from the leafs brass, hahahahaha!

@AM34

That Nylander rant started out as a joke, making fun of the obsessive Nylander fan boys and you saw how it all took off.

Just remember two things: I was answering replies after the original post (except for a couple of times that I just couldn't resist)

and much more importantly:

He still can't back check worth a crap. He still floats without the puck. Nothing has changed. Marner is still better, had more pts/ game and is only entering his 2nd year of pro hockey while Nylander is entering his 4th. Yes, the SHL is not the NHL, but it is a pro league, as is the AHL.

Nobody is arguing over whether he can score or not, except some people can't get that.

If the Leafs could only afford 2 of the 3 which one would you trade?

Thanks Lab for the clarification. Though I do believe he made great strides in improving his defensive game over the course of the year and was one of their better players in the Washington series over 200ft. As for your question, I actually can't answer it as I really like all 3 players and would do everything I could to sign all 3.

Look. Matthews and Nylander will remain on the top line with Hyman. Say what you will but Hyman does the dirty work on that line but he can't score worth a crap unless it is through penalty killing. They should take Bozak and JVR off the Marner line and let Marner centre Marleau and Brown on the second line. Have Kadri centre JVR and Komarov on the 3rd line. Let Bozak centre the fourth line with Martin and Kapenen.

Not to mention aside from the obvious chemistry of Matthews and Nylander on a line . Why would they move Nylander to centre during a contract season? So Nylander and his agent can bump his price per year up a few notches . let's clear our heads here
Bozak will do his thing for the remaining year.

@ Randy
Interesting idea, though I think big bodied speedster/ sniper Marleau and speedster/ checker Kapanen would make a fun line to watch. With his quick hands and the new faceoff rules I think he could do quite well on the draw. Could be a Hyman-Mathews-Nylander V2.0 Put JVR with Kadri and Brown and try to match those 3 lines rolling. Marleau can also take draws. Now David, before you say he is too small, look at some stats.
Marner - 6', 180lbs
Tyker Johnson - 5'8", 183lbs
Namestnikov - 5'11", 183lbs
Stamkos - 6'1", 194lbs
Bennet - 6'1", 186lbs.
Not bad company as far as comparable centres go.
