Let's see, I think I have mentioned this to you before. You can't trade retained salary, so stop adding it to your proposals. As well, Schultz is out 4 to 6 months with a broken leg and you are giving up players that are kinda integral at the moment to keep us at or near the top of the division. Sprong still can’t break into the top 6.

Why would the Leafs trade a 1st rounder and 2 regulars/ depth players for a defenseman that has one season under his belt, is not considered elite and took almost 5 years to make it to the NHL? Just curious is all on how you determined Pulock's value with that offer?

Obviously you guys can't take feedback on the trades you post. All I did was provide feedback/ opinion based on the trade proposed. First of all, you can't trade retained salary under the CBA and I offered up my opinion on Dubas' style, that he is not one to trade for a core piece, then trade him a year later for picks and/ or prospects. He is looking to bring a cup to Toronto, not change the make up of the team drastically every year to achieve it. Lastly, if it wasn't the same sh*t, different day with him, I would have probably stayed neutral as I do enjoy reading peoples ideas and proposals. You guys just can't accept feedback if it's against your thought process I guess.

Oh for god sakes, enough already with trading for players, then trading them for picks and prospects a year later. First of all, that is not Dubas' style, which I think is becoming pretty evident and what is with trading retained salary? That is the weirdest thing you have come up with yet.

You can't pay a guy more than 20% of the total cap in a given year. The maximum he could earn is 16 million.

I don't think you understand how the cap works. It's also not a circumvention of the cap because regardless of how much is actually being paid every year the cap is based on the AAV of the total contract which would be 7 million per season.

Honestly, there is no way Toronto gives Bozak 5 years at that cost, not at 31 years of age, actually 32 in March and declining offense and poor defensively. Komorov, maybe 2 years tops and probably a little less than the $3M you are proposing. No offense and a 4th liner. Not saying he doesn't bring value, but not at that cost. I would say max. 2 years at $2.5M.

I don't necessarily disagree with your thoughts, but I also think his leadership, penalty killing (5th most minutes in the league) and his face-off capability (53%) is head and shoulders above anything we currently have for the 4th line. He also still skates like the wind, so with Komarov, Kapanen and Plekanec, we have 4 solid lines to throw out every night with speed and skill. Just my thought, but I didn't mind this trade at all. We also got rid of a couple of contracts of players that would probably never make the Leafs.

If Grundstrom doesn't make the Leafs, he has to go back to Sweden. Something to do with rules based on his draft selection.
