Following up on my post with the trade with EDM. I know the Jets want a lot for Trouba, so how about this.

To TOR: D - J. Trouba

To WNG: F. N. Kadri + F - A. Johnsson + D - T. Dermott

I don't think some pro-Leaf posters get is that the JETS DON'T WANT Kadri as he is a player that isn't worth Trouba no matter what RFA who will want way more $ than he's worth and 5/ 6 d-men who is out until Xmas the Leafs desperately add. I suggest the Leafs or try to peddle them to a team might want them, like the KHL's Traktor Chelyabinsk who might trade defenseman Nikita Khlystov to the Leafs for this deal.

Come on TorontoBuds. You know Jets don’t need wingers. Kadri is one bonehead play away from a 20 game suspension. He sucks and doesn’t suit the Jets style of play anyway. And Jets don’t want Dermott. They got Niku and Stanley, who are basically Karlsson and Doughty in a Jets uniform. Jets and Leafs just aren’t good trading partners. Leafs don’t have anything Kets want, and the price for players on Jets that Leafs want is too high. Leafs won’t pay. There just isn’t a deal to be made.

Haha nice reply LeafsGM. Maurice is a Kadri fan, that's one of the reasons why he is linked to the Jets. Dermott, yes injured is a very good up and coming LHD, something the Jets need to re-balance as well.

No chance from Winnipeg. Leaf fans need to understand that we all know that the Leafs need Trouba far, far more than the Jets need anything from Toronto.

If yout want a young #1RHD like Trouba you will need to offer up fair value and beat all the other offers for Trouba. The Leafs are dealing from a position of weakness, they desperately need Trouba and have nothing that the Jets need in return and Chevy knows this.

Set your sites on a bottom pairing defenseman if you want to dump Kadri.

I think this is funny that people on this site think Trouba is worth so much the guy has had one good season and that was last year his first year where he’s played the full 82 not to mention that he’s a guy that wants to get paid big dollars I wouldn’t even trade for him lol.

If that is what Trouba is worth, then would Jets fans feel better about the Leafs trading Kadri for a 1st and prospect, then adding in Johnsson (the 40 point guy) and trade that? I mean the Leafs could very easily trade Kadri for a 1st and a prospect. (So could Winnipeg if they wanted to)

Not a chance leafs would trade two potential 30 goal guys. Yes Johansson is a goal scorer, and a young top 4 potential D for Trouba and his 7mil a year contract.

Everyone is hating on everyone oh kadri isn't qorth this, trouba isn't qorth that. Simple matter of fact atm. The deal should be kadri + Bergman for trouba.

Reasoning is simple. Winnipeg needs a second line center which kadri can perform greatly and is on a great contract; they also get a young cheap usable defenseman who they can use on the 3rd pairing. They are giving up a 2nd rhd with a 1st rhd ceiling. It work for both teams.


Or if you really want to shock the world, how about marner and kadri for laine, trouba, and a 1st.

Nah we don’t want nothing from the Jets it’s funny how they can’t keep players first stasny leave now Hayes rumours are out there that Laine wants out and they can barely afford to put a team together Trouba is going to either bend them over for 8+ mil or walk the leafs will look for a cheaper and better option.

What do you hate so much about Kadri? Please, I just don't get it. Take out your personal hatred for a player and look at statistics and rationale reasoning. When I said a 1st and a prospect, here are the reasons. Remember, Winnipeg paid a 1st for Kevin Hayes and the Sabres paid a 1st for Montour

1. Kadri is inked for 3 more years on a VERY team friendly deal at $4.5M AAV
2. Kadri is a quality 2nd line centre, proved it prior to John Tavares joining the Leafs, back to back 30 goal seasons
3. Kadri is still relatively young at 28, contract will run out when he's 31
4. Even last year in a 3rd line role, he still put up 16G and 28A

So when you say the Leafs could not get a 1st and a prospect, remember that is what was paid for Hayes and he has never scored 30 goals, and only once in his career over 20!

Instead of trying to peddle Kadri to every team since he's so great why don't the Leafs just keep him. He's such a star he should be able to play the wing to counter the Leafs are strong at center argument. I hope Chevy doesn't trade for Kadri who is one hit to the head from behind from a 20 game suspension. The Jets and Leafs aren't good trading partners, and how will the Leafs afford Trouba?

You know you Winnipeg fans always scream and yell at us for being so biased, but look at you guys. You think a top 4 LHD that you could really use, and two top 6 forwards isn't enough for a top RHD? You must be insane.

Kadri is on an etremely friendly contract. We all know he can score 30+ goals and the leafs would be stupid to trade him.

Johnsson was fantastic in his rookie year and there will be an even bigger improvement in his game next year.

Dermott will be a top 4 d and he is still on his ELC, and the Jets could really use a top 4 LHD on an cheap contract.

You think the leafs make this trade? Not in a million years.

Trouba is a great hockey player, but he is greedy and selfish. Everyone is talking about how Marner wants too much, but Trouba is going to ask for like 9-11 million and when that happens you Jets fans will be dying to get rid of him.
