Both players are UFA’s at the end of the season and Leafs will be hard pressed to find the money to resign Campbell let alone pay what either of these two will be asking for.

I like both suggestions.
Kane is free money.
If he doesn’t work out send him to the Marlies for the balance of the season then he is gone in June.
Sandin, Robertson and a 1st might get you Chychrun but not Hayton.
Maybe Sandin, Robertson, Amirov and a 1st for Chychrun and Crouse.

Kerfoot is having the best year of his career.
He fits seamlessly with the team.
I would be hesitant to trade him.
Maybe Mikheyev and Dermot instead.

Take out Sandin and give them another top prospect or two.
Amirov, Knies, Steeves, Voit, Holowell, Rubins, Kral?
It will take a LOT more than that to get Hertl.
Including a 1st round pick.
Hertl was one of the 3 stars of the week and is having one of the best years of his career.
