Looking at comparables (O’Reilly, Schenn, Kesselx2), it looks like Nylander is worth 2x1st + extras.
To Leafs: Severson, Zacha, 1st
To NJ: Nylander, throw ins
Pick/ prospect from Leafs to balance as needed.

What smells is this trade proposal.
If you think you are going to pry Severson, a very good RHD from Jersey, along with Zacha, who has been underperforming, yes, but still has a lot of upside potential playing on NJ second line between Wood and either Noesen or Coleman, plus squeeze a first out of them, you are nuts.
I’ve suggested trading for both Severson and Zacha myself many times. But never have I tried to so blatantly rob the cradle as you are here.

I can’t tell if you’re trolling or serious with all those sarcastic questions in answer to everyone’s posts. Now it’s my turn.
This is a deadline style trade. Why would a perennial re-building Buffalo team want to trade one of their best prospects and a pick for an overaged pending UFA like Gardiner, who they definitely can’t afford to re-sign? Maybe we can trade them Marleau for Middlestadt too while we’re at it? Or Hainsey for Samuelsson?
