To Canes: Nylander, Gardner, Brown and a 2019 1st

To Leafs: Pesce, Svechnikov

Canes get an elite RW to play on a line with Teravainen-Aho-Nylander
Canes receive a LHD to play with Dougie Hamilton.
Canes obtain a defensive RW to play with Stahl.
Canes add another 1st round pick.

Leafs receive a RHD they desperately need.
Leafs get a shooter to play with Tavares allowing them to move Marner to Matthews line becoming the set up guy for Matthews who is more of a shooter.

Svechnikov is worth more then all of that combined.

Don’t think Carolina makes this trade.

Svechnikov is projected to be a better player than Nylander. And under no circumstance do I see Carolina, who already has close to $30M invested in defense taking on Gardiner. They absolutely do not need him.

Maybe if Leafs took out Gardiner it would be more fair? Whoever takes him off our hands deserves Nylander just for doing us that favor alone.
