A trade that may interest the Rangers if Trouba doesn't want to sign with them:

Leafs: Zaitsev, Kapanen, 2nd 2020
Rangers: Trouba (7x7)
Salary basically cancels out and we have our man.

Leafs: Brown, Marleau
Kings: Lewis, 3rd 2019

I think we need to move past Trouba, he is gone and will be a Ranger. I don't see why Trouba does not sign with the Rangers, they have plenty of cap space.

I have to agree that Chevy made a very poor trade. Unless Pionk is a late developer and the Jets get a great player at #20 this trade didn't make the Jets better. However I still wouldn't have wanted Kadri.

Not wanting Kadri and having a better deal including Kadri are two different things LOL. Kadri is most definitely worth mid-low 1st and a non top line D-man.

Rangers basically traded Pionk + Hayes as rental for Trouba. So if they make this deal, then basically it is 60 days of Hayes and Pionk for Kapanen, Zaitsev, 2nd. That’s an awesome return for them. If someone suggested that trade they would be raked. Yet that is exactly what could happen if Rangers do decide to trade Trouba.

The only thing is, the interest in Trouba obviously isn’t there, or Jets would have taken whatever better offer they got. So it just doesn’t seem fit to trade so much for him now, when we could have got him for less just last week.
