I really don't want Tarasenko. He's a great player but his injury history concerns me.

No thanks to Tarasenko and no thanks to trading Marner. The only issue with Marner is cap. He was a top 5 point scorer last year and consistently puts up tremendous offensive numbers.

@T-buds don't you think that's kind of an oxymoron? His only issue is cap lol.

I would be fine with shipping Marner but not for that package. Tarasenko scares me as he is a sniper not a playmaker. Who will feed Matthews the puck?

tarasenko has 1 year and may be gone. the others are good young players but i think the return has to be a star Dman in the 6-8m range plus an nhl forward 2-3m. cap hit for cap hit.

So my thoughts on this, if tarasenko is healthy, these are the lines, if not you have 7 million in ltir to use.

Tavares matthews kyrou
Tarasenko Thomas nylander
Micheyev kampf engvall
Bunting spezza simmonds
Brooks Robertson

Brodie Meyers
Muzzin holl
Sandin lily
Juolevi

Campbell mrazek

If tarasenko is hurt, run Robertson there and trade for a 7m ish expiring defenceman. Not sure who there is, haven’t looked at 2022 free agents yet.

@Eddie why would you get a star defenceman++ for Marner?

Looked up expiring dmen, we could eye a Parayko, GUI or stralman.

Tarasenko has 2 years left on contract. Thomas is blues future young 2c possible 1c. Kyrou is the Blues future 1rw and neighbors is the Blues future 2lw and potential power forward. Blues haven't had one since David backes.

This is just not happening from a Blues perspective lol.

Parayko would be a nice addition but where does he play?

Right now I think the best part of this team is the D corps. They aren't bloated by horrible contracts, they have a couple guys that play gritty wand good defensively and a few offensive d men.

If Marner was traded I would rather look at bringing back a lesser top 6 winger and a few picks/ prospects.

So leads life, that’s exactly what I did here too 6 winger and prospects/ rookies. Lmao I was wondering when colt would find his way to this post.

@Bo bandy I like the idea behind it just not Tarasenko.

No its not an oxymoron, had the cap gone up the past 2 consecutive years with no c.v., no one is even mentioning trading Marner. Is he signed for say $1.5M AAV than he should be, sure. Do you trade him when he's a top producer in the NHL, No.

@T-buds. I still think people are complaining even if the cap did rise, because Marner hasn't produced in the playoffs. The other thing with trading Marner is that many feel that you can't win the Cup with (3)$11M players. It is not really about whether Marner is a really good/ great player or not. JT has a NMC, so he is going nowhere. Do you move Matthews or Marner if you have to? For me, I don't even have to think twice. It would be Marner. Not because I want to move him, but because a better team may be able to be built if you do.

@T-buds the cap can go up to 90mm and I still won't want Marner around if he is always this bad in the playoffs.
