First thing. this puts the leafs over the cap.

Secondly. the leafs should not give up their first this year especially for bennet, unless they are getting a longer term cost controlled asset. Remember they have to sign Hyman after the ED. I'll take hyman over bennet any day.

In all honesty, I like the team how it is. Let's get Simmonds back and let Matthews heal 100%.

Agree 100%

I like Bennett but kerfoot needs to go other way. Can’t see it any other way. Keefe found a shutdown line due to Matthews injury. Engvall Hyman Mikheyev has made pushed kerfoot out of 3C. Now with Matthews back kerfoot is with Tavares. Once simmonds is back him and kerfoot flip flop 2nd and 4th line. Bennett is better than kerfoot for this role and kerfoot suits Calgary top 9 just fine.

But hey maybe I’m wrong.

Sorry disagree. Our 1st doesn't carry a lot of value as late 1sts have about a 50% chance of even being an NHLer and little hope of being an impact player. Add in that this year the draft is a complete crap shoot as you cannot even scout most players as they are not playing, seems like the perfect time to trade that 1st if you can get a player that helps now.
