I donâ€™t think you would get a 2nd for Leivo and/ or Sparks. Using the Soshnikov trade as precedent, Leivo is worth at most a 4th. Sparks is an AHL goalie and doesnâ€™t carry any value.

Hobbs is an interesting choice. I would dump Leivo for him. Retain Sparks as our backup for next year and possible replacement for Andersen in a few years.

Hobbs is an interesting choice. What makes you chose him to target?

Lievo is a useful player who has been superseded on the depth chart by players such as Johnsson, Kapanen, etc. If Leafs arenâ€™t going to play him, they should trade him. I think they can do better than Woods though.

Hobbs hit stride last year with the Pats (31 goals) on a very good offensive team. He is a fighter, something we don't have on D.

But the caps got lucky picking him in the 5th round and probably aren't looking to trade him.

Leivo can score in the NHL and it's best to wait to give him 30 or so games to evaluate him, before trading.

Maybe Leivo gets in a game tonight.

TOR: Bozak (C), later 2nd, Carrick;

NYI: HoSang (LW, C), later 1st; Lee (C)

Islanders are looking for a 2nd line center. (Read; Eyes on Isles: "Six outside the box") . The proposal for Eichel is priceless.

Can't ask too much for Bozak because of his contract:

Lee has this and next year left on a 3.75M contract. He has never lived up to 2nd line center (though he came close last year) . If he only amounts to a 3rd line center, then that's not too bad for the Leafs.

HoSang has parts of his game to work out, but maybe a change would help him. He has raw talent; just needs to learn hockey. Taking a chance for sure.

The 1st will be middle ten; so maybe a good player/ maybe not. The scouting department gets to earn their pay.

Bozaks game is more geared to 2nd line than 3rd. So he would fit better in NY. Carrick will only get displaced here by next year.

Cap values are close enough.
