Leafs trade jake gardiner and connor brown
To Edmonton for matt benning, 2019 first lottery protected, and aberg.

I think Leafs pass.

This trade weakens us on defense next year. While I would rather trade Gardiner rather than have him walk for nothing, itâ€™s been pointed out to me many tones that unless we bring in a player of equal worth, Gardiner is probably not going anywhere, and I tend to agree with that assessment.

If Gardiner = Benning + 1st, then we would also lose Brown here for next to nothing.

I think Leafs pass on this deal.

I don't really know much about Benning. Never really seen him play. I love Brown. Don't want him to go. Love the fact he kills penelties. Love he can play on any line and when he plays with Matthews it doesn't change affectiveness of line.

Gardiner for Benning and protected 1st I'd do though. Would the Oilers?

I just love Brown so that and that alone makes me say no. The Leafs may feel different. so good proposal minus Brown.
