To Wild

Gardiner (From Minnesota I believe, not that it matters)
Nielsen
Nylander
2nd

To Leafs

Coyle
Dumba

Scales may tip the scale slightly for the Wild... but Cap space in my opinion is just as valuable as a prospect or pick etc. Also, Gardiner on expiring contract.

First Post... be gentle.

Oh Boy. That’s a lot you’re giving up.

Dumba is great. He’d look real good beside Reilly. Rumour is Minnesota is willing to unload him for a winger, and Nylander fits the bill. I would do Nylander this Dumba no problem. Since high quality RHD are more valuable than high quality wingers, then we add the 2nd is fine.

That leaves Gardiner and Neilson for Coyle. Coyle is a big boy. Hits a lot, blocks a lot of shots, has some good offensive numbers, and two years remaining on his contract at reasonable $3.2M. He’s a good choice for 3C. Gardiner and Nielson seems like an overpayment here. Gardiner puts up more numbers than Coyle himself. I would actually rather dump Gardiner for Coyle rather than trade him for a pick, so maybe I’m sticking my neck out a bit by agreeing with you here. But I’m not sure Minnesota would want toakw him on. They are deep defense, and with gardiner on the team, they would be heavy LHD. Tight against the cap, they may be looking for cap relief. It’s possible we could get Coyle for less. A pick/ prospect to go along with Nielson or another player. (I think Minnesota is looking for forwards, so Bracco, Grundstrom, someone like that) .

I don't have a proposed trade but I am curious as to what everyone would have in mind in regards to Ryan Ellis from Nashville. I'm pretty sure he's not available but think he would be an amazing addition... A RHD, with respectable grit and a good balance of offensive and defensive ability. Thoughts on what a deal would have to look like if he were available?

He might be available. He’s a free agent end of the year. Even if we can’t acquire him in a trade, we might be able to sign him. Nashville is going to be tight re-signing Ellis, who will be looking for a big pay raise from his current $2.5M. Not sure if we can afford him ourselves though.

In terms of a trade, if Nashville chose to shop him, which I don’t think they will, we can probably acquire him as a rental for cheap, a pick and prospect. Basically whatever you think we can get for Gardiner is about the same as the acquisition cost for Ellis would be.

A little off topic, but as a Leafs fan i'm liking these deals involving Nylander more and more. I do not like the Bruins, but i'm a fan of hockey and respect good players and Pastrnak is amazing. the more i see him play the more i'm annoyed at Nylanders antics. these two aren't even on the same level yet Nylander wants way more money. I am 100% all for a Nylander deal, keep the proposals coming! Cheers.

Although interesting and fun, especially for a Leafs fan, there is no way Steel gets dealt. future 1C.

I agree. i don't see Gards or Dermott being too far off from Lindholm. seems arguably lateral. however a lot of sites feel this has some legs which is surprising to me. i'm really bummed about Ellis, was close to the top of my wishlist. I honestly don't see anything of significance happening in Toronto aside from their own RFA re-signings.

Thompson is in Buffalo. perhaps a Walman or Lindbohm seeing as Dunn might tip the scales too much in my opinion.
