I'm not sure why I bother because everyone seems to jump all over everyone's suggestions on here but let's have it what do you think about this first round draft strategy.

Torontos 1st-draft callan foote (RD)

Then trade SJ 2nd 2017, Anaheim 7th 2018, josh Leivo to St. Louis for their 1st Rd pick 2017 (as they have two this year)
Trade may have to be altered a bit but it is a late first so it shouldn't cost an arm and leg in a weak draft

Draft Erik Brannstrom (LD) with their pick

Not bad at all, i'm not a big levio fan.

I dought that foote will drop to our hands, he'll be a stud but Connor Timmons is definitely an option. Or maybe trade up to draft foote.

You're assuming the Blues would go for that deal, which is a big assumption.

I like it but I dunno if Blues will trade away a first for a late 2nd, 7th and Leivo. Probably have to add a bit there.

I also wouldn't use that second pick for Brannstrom, depending on what's available, I would go for goalie Oettinger.
But for the higher pick I would either choose
Again depending on availability, in order of desire.
Foote
Jokiharju
Timmins
Brook
Minulin

Another option could be to trade down as players like Brook and Minulin could be gotten in the second round.

If Foote isn't available at the Leafs pick that would be my strategy. In a weak draft the more darts you throw the better because you jus never know.

At the draft,
Option #1
If Foote is available, draft him with the 18th pick and make no trades and let the draft play out as it will.

Option #2
If Foote gets drafted at that moment pull the trigger on a trade with the Hurricanes
18th pick for 42nd pick and 54th pick
Then attempt to trade for the 31st pick from St. Louis
Revamp of a previous trade
54th pick, 111th pick and Leivo
For 31st pick and 177th pick

Leafs then own 31st, 42nd, 52nd

Draft
31. Timmins/ Brook
42. Oettinger/ Hague/ Jokiharju
52. Minulin/ Rasanen/ Chytil.

Timmins is a quality back up plan. Brook could be a solid 2nd round pick up!

Your on the mark leafs have many trade chips leave Komarov. Unprotected protect leivo

Your trade pieces. After expansion draft could be leivo. Leipsic Kapanan carrick JVR

The leafs are getting a lot back 4 those assets.

I don't get you? I thought that kapanen was your boy and saying he's part of "the big 4 " then you want to trade him?
I think I just lost some brain cells.

Love the idea of drafting Foote. They could also go for Valimaki if he's still available. If Liljegren is still available in the 12th spot might want to trade some forward prospect (s) to get him.

It’s funny to see how different Mock Drafts have players ranked. I have seen some that have Liljegren falling out of the top ten which is crazy to think. But there again, who would have thought Jakob Chychrun would have fallen to Arizona at 16 last year. I think if Toronto has a chance to move up a few spots and get Liljegren, they have to jump on it. What does Toronto need most of all. a right shoot defenseman.

I would trade up and draft liljegren. he was ranked second coming into the season by central scouting. dropped a bit because he had mono and missed a lot of time, still has the potential to be a top pairing d man with offensive flare.

The only reason chycrun dropped that much is that he didn't play well on the ORR vs Cherry prospect game.
