I love the idea of going after drouin since the lightning will eventually have to let someone go but JVR just doesn't fit in the plan of TB first of all since he would cost more than drouin after one season. Also I think after his run at the end of the year that Toronto would add unless you lowered the pick. But I doubt the Lightning will be looking for a high paid player in the trade. More than likely you have to take a dump back or trade drouin for picks

Drouin has accomplished nothing yet. 10 pts in 21 games, 30 pts in 70 games. The only decent production was in the playoffs and that wasn't exactly mind blowing.

He's small, his plus/minus are not that good for such a good team. He's a dime a dozen, one dimensional, whining peckerhead. Cancer to a team.

Yes he did good in the Q, but so have a ton of others.

When he scores 50 goals, maybe then. Until then, not a chance for JVR.

You have to be kidding! Get a grip!

What gm in their right mind doesn't take Drouin for giving up JVR?. sorry lab16 but I got to disagree with you here hardcore. Drouin all day everyday. much younger faster more skilled and of course a lot cheaper. just the facts dude:)

The kid hasn't delivered squat yet, other than whine. He is not quite down to Yakapuff, but he's not far off.

You clearly overrate him as do far too many. He rode on the coattails of McKinnon, Frk, Elhers, and more. Yes, he tore up the Q, but tons of players have done that.

Can you say Alexander Daigle! 110, then 137 points in the Q, and never lived up to that, even though his first season in the NHL was a respectable 51pts; FAR MORE than Drouin. Except for 1 more 51 pt year later on Daigle just faded away into Euro oblivion, despite being given chance after chance after chance.

Where are all the goals Jimmy? Far too little. Drouin is clearly drafted far too high. Not all that many assists either. Small size, can't fight, barely fore checks, never back checks. The list goes on and on.

He's had lots of time and chances to show what he's got and has shown little anything but attitude. Maybe his little backfired escapade will turn him around, but I doubt it; way too many flaws.

You and I disagree on Drysaityl, but even I will admit Drysaityl is light years ahead of this whining smurf.

I hope that Lou keeps his sanity and never trades JVR for this guy. It would be as stunned as trading Hall for Larson. Epic failure.

Drouin has about 60 days of not being a whining idiot in the NHL. when he realized what an idiot he was being (no doubt his agent telling him) he crawled back.Played pretty well but hardly worth JVR, even with the 1st. JVR is one of the top LW in the league, still young enough on a great deal. his value is very high, and a deal involving him would have to provide a huge return for the Leafs. They could easily get two top prospects, a high pick, and their back up goalie for him. if they chose to move him.and While I have no idea, I don't think they will.
