I'll probably get a lot of hate for this, but it's just an idea.

Leafs trade: 1st overall, Lupul, Corrado

Arizona trade: Ekman-Larsson, 7th overall

Leafs then draft Alexander Nylander, Arizona drafts Matthews.

Nylander brothers can play on the same team and Matthews gets to play for his home state. This trade could be really healthy for Arizona hockey in general, bring in more fans, fill more seats.

It's not the fact you are proposing this trade that WILL have the ire of most hockey fans but what is coming back to the Leafs!!
Auston Matthews is 97% a generational player for this to be a healthy trade for ALL not just Arizona. Leafs would and should ask for Ekman-Larson, Strome and Arizonas 1st overall of 2016 at #7 OA without trading anyone else from their roster!!

The only way I moe that pick is if lupal ones with it for oel, pick numbers 7,20, 37 and strome. That is the only way I move it. Strome is a centre, oel is the top pairing dmen Toronto needs to play with Reilly they can draft one of the dmen at 7 and someone like Logan Stanley or Charlie mcavoy at 20.

In my opinion, if and it's a big if the Leafs trade the 1st overall pick it should NOT be a hockey trade. It should be the biggest 1 sided trade in the history of the NHL. D Strome, C Dvorak, both the 1st rd picks Arizona has andsee if we can get them to add Domi. lol.

Like Toronto really cares to fill up Arizona's seats with more fans. Do you not understand the marketing windfall and licensing dollars the Leafs are going to generate with a talent like Matthews? You're a donkey my friend, Arizona would need to unload its entire prospect base to even get the leafs attention.

Do you guys not understand what a Generational talent is? A generation is 10 years so he'd have to be the best player for 10 years but he won't be because McDavid>Mathews.
