Toronto: C-Tyler Bozak
Pittsburgh: 1st Rd pick 2018, conditional 3rd Rd pick 2018
Pittsburgh is said to be looking for a 3rd line center. I know the price isn't even but the penguins can through in a depth guy to even out the salary. A 1st and a 3rd is a lot for Bozak, but considering that Ryan Reaves picked up a 1st Rd pick in the 2017 draft, I think Bozak is worth at least that. As well, it opens up a spot for Kapanen in the lineup

I like the trade, but the Leafs will need to eat some salary or take back a contract to make a deal with the Pens.

San Jose Sharks: D- Dylan Demelo, he's is a young, right handed defensive defenceman. Basically a younger better Polak with time to grow (he is only 23)
Toronto Maple Leafs: Polak/ Hunwick and a conditional 5th round pick in 2017 (condition is if the Sharks make the finals it becomes a 4th)

Sorry David it's not enough. The second probably needs to be a first and you need a better prospect going the other way instead of Timoshov to even have a chance to do this deal. I'm not quite sure that us Leaf fans understand how good Lindholm actually is. He's an incredible defender.

Leafs: D-Roman Polak, C-Peter Holland, conditional 2017 3rd round pick (condition is if strome plays X games, turns into a 2nd)
Islanders: C/ RW- Ryan Strome
The islanders have had a bunch of their defenceman injured, and they don't seem to be too keen on strome.
The leafs send polak which opens up a spot for Corrado as well as sending Holland to play in a depth role. The 3rd round pick could also become a second but it's just there to sweeten the deal.

I think the only teams that will bite on Polak are the on the bubble teams and playoff teams that have an injury. Would be nicer if Holland got some decent time with better linemates to try and up his value.
Still, they might go for this if indeed they want to unload Strome.
Strome has only 6 pts so far and his play has been lacklustre of late.

As much as I would like to get Lindholm, Neilsen offers a great potential at a much lower price.
The Ducks are not looking for Dmen, the quality of talent of their forwards is bad on the 3rd and 4th lines. The Ducks have lots of Dmen.
Neilsen is a diamond picked from the cubic zirconia round of the draft; forget it.
Try Dermott instead.

Of course the deal doesn't work. It's not even balanced money wise,
I was making the point that you don't give up one of your prized prospects for another, you don't make gains that way.
Yes more would have to be exchanged for Lindholm, but not with prized youth that comes at a great price. We are not making a deal here to bail the Ducks out of their cap issues.
They can trade others like Bozak, JVR, whomever, I don't care. This is a rebuild; we are not exchanging youth.
I'm surprised that the Ducks haven't signed him yet as they have no intention of trading him in the 1st place.

I like that, but just remember that Arizona gave way less for a guy like Goligoski. I think Shattenkirk is way better than Goligoski, but a 3rd may be a bit much
