Tor Garland

Van Kerfoot

Really not sure if Vancouver does this, but I noticed that Garland was a healthy scratch. Add that to all the rumours they may have been shopping him for cap space and they might.

I have wanted Garland for many years now, he's exactly what the top 6 needs along with Bunting.

I would add to this to get it done as well.

It’s good Robertson replaces Malgin. Let’s hope Robertson never comes out of. Lineup again on 22 years of age

Leafs trade Engvall
Anyone 4 round pick

This eventually leads to Engvall being graded. Toronto have so many wingers that are cheaper younger and better than Engvall

Holmberg Steeves are better and younger.

I like Garland, but another $5M forward signed long term isn't going to help them fill the needs of this team. If he were a big power forward, that might be different. imo.

@RLF I have a man-crush on Garland. He's another Hyman/ Bunting type guy with more skill. He plays like a power forward even if he doesn't have the size, that's why I'm such a big fan. I think he fits perfectly.

Looking around the league, I don't see many defenceman available, that's the other big issue.

@David I agree. I'd rather see a 22 year old that earned a spot than Denis Malgin just because Dubas knows he F'ed up the Marchment trade.

The Leafs should try to do this trade Kerfoot and throw in Engvall for Garland. Vancouver could/ would then have line with Kerfoot, Engvall and Mikheyev. These guys already have a connection.

@LL. I agree that Garland plays "big" and I like him, but at some point the Leafs need actual size that are actually big. All this deal does is add another smaller guy that plays bigger than his size. imo

TB for instance has Kilorn, Hagel, Maroon, Paul and Perry that all have good size and their D are huge. Teams seem to be looking for size again. . . except Dubas of course.

@RLF I would love some size on the team as well, but I think it's needed on the back end more than anywhere else.

D pairings as of now are;

Rielly-Brodie
Mete-Holl
Gio-Sandin

That is the softest and smallest D corps, I think I have ever seen even including the AHL.

I'd take Garland as a Kerfoot replacement because it's one smallish forward for another.

Dubas will resign kerfoot before trading him. Versatility and the man crush he has on him will keep kerfoot in Toronto

Garland would be a nice get but just isn’t feasible

Demon out.
